My hands trace the paperweight while watching the presentation. The meeting is set to discuss our next steps on the Eurasian expansion, and David is providing the pointers based on his recent visit to Japan. A junior-level executive could have presented better. I doubt if he prepared the content or he just delegated the work to his subordinates. He is becoming more and more nervous seeing my poker face. Luc's POV I cannot stop shaking with anger. How dare she? I have started believing in her, and she has shown her true colors. I am an idiot to believe in another girl. Lia's POV I stare into the screen saver displaying Alastair Corporation's logo. As if the monitor is tossing it across space like a ball. Not that it is the exciting thing in the world to look at. But my thoughts are too chaotic to do any work. It is only two months since we got married. But it seems like years. What an exciting time frame. And I haven't thought about the ball this Saturday. I am not a person who buys a new dress for every occasion. I suppose it is normal to feel like that. Why should I have to buy a dress for every new event? I will use one of my evening dresses in the wardrobe. I shake my head at the thoughts. Why am I thinking about the dress when we have more pressing matters in hand? I don't understand how people feel refreshed after spending a day in the spa.
