Lottie’s POV

Ember needs to shut up, she just keeps going on about mating and marking. Her constant complaining is driving me crazy. She is like a radio that won’t shut up. Does she not realize the pressure she is putting on me and after the stunt she pulled a few hours ago? She will be lucky if I let her shift again. There was absolutely no need for her to act that way. I would have gotten there, eventually. I am just a little nervous.

Mom must have seen how stressed out I was getting. I usually get that way when I am hungry and sleep deprived. Caren feeds me and then I am sent to bed, like a child. But when I get to my room, I can smell my dad.
