Chapter 14

There is a soft knock on the door and Gavin saying, “The funeral is in an hour, Donna.”

“Thanks Gavin.”

They both reluctantly break apart and get up from the bed. Luis tells Veronica to shower first. They both shower quickly and get dressed in all black. Veronica is wearing a snug black dress with a hem to the top of her knees and a scoop neck and short sleeves. She pairs it with the pearls her mother gave her.

Luis is wearing snug black slacks with a black belt and a black long-sleeved button up shirt. He puts on his watch and they make their way to the living room to wait until it is time to.

Luis pulls Veronica onto his lap and hugs her tight. Neither of them says anything. Luis lays soft kisses on her temple from time to time but there are no words exchanged between the two.

Veronica then adjusts her position to straddle Luis’s lap and slams her lips on his hard and snakes her arms around his neck. He rests his hands on her hips and continues kissing her passionately.
