Sabrina’s POV

“As you know, Duke Douglas, my mate is a reasonable man,” I interject, flirting a little to get under Lynn’s skin. “If Herbert Waterman will remove the rogues from the border, I am sure we can have peace between our packs. All any of us want to do is be able to raise our children in safety and peace.”

Douglas seems to almost smile at me.

“Well, yes, your mate is reasonable, that is certain. Compared to most Alphas, he is almost a doormat,” Douglass chuckles.

“Oh, believe me, Your Highness, he is no doormat. Herbert Waterman threatened me and my children. My mate defended us within the law. I, personally, consider him a man of principal,” I defend Ted.

Douglas gives me a charming smile. “There is a fine line between principled and weak. I believe your mate is weak and that is why he ran to us instead of defending his pack with a challenge.”
