Rio got down from the car and walked into the house.

His endless search for Anita had taken the better part of him, he looked exhausted and dejected.

He cites his mother as he enters the house, he’s already prepared for her long unending talks. He’s ready for the talks of how he acted at the restaurant and given her deaf ears even when she had called.

She looked at him and walked past him not saying a word like he had expected, he had expected an outburst of his behavior from her.
