LOGINMIAThe next morning, I was already awake before the sun woke up. Actually, that's a joke since I didn't fall back asleep when I fell off the bed. I lay on the floor, several thoughts crossing my mind of the dream I just had. They were getting close and closer to me, gaining confidence everyday. Maybe it meant that they'd soon come for me. For a minute, I had completely forgotten about them and was trying to live a perfect life. As soon as the sun was in the sky, I stood up and jumped into the bathroom, wanting to start my day early and accomplish a couple of things. As I stood in front of the mirror, it was obvious that I'd had a very rough night from the eye bags beneath my eyes but I couldn't stay and sulk about it. The best thing was to find my mother's book and learn as much as I could about who I was so that I could get revenge for all they put her through. That dream or whatever it was had been timely. I needed clarification as to what happened to my mum. My dad had never
MIAMagma and I eventually got too tired and ended up going to sleep till the next day. Actually, I stayed up really late watching videos online but eventually, I fell asleep with my phone in my hand. Less than an hour into the dream world, I started to see things. At first, it didn't make any sense because I was still wearing the same clothes and I was still in this house. There was a noise downstairs so I came out of my room to check on it, because it was really late. The noise got louder with each step, sounding like the ticking of a clock but this time around, the clock had to be right next to a very loud speaker. The corridor leading to the staircase was closed with fog. I was very sure it wasn't raining outside since I looked out the window and could see the clear sky. Eerily quiet. There was an unsettling feeling in my stomach but I couldn't stop moving closer to the disturbing sound. I must have forgotten that Magma was at home with me because I didn't even bother goin
MIAMy dad meant business when he said that he'd ask some guards to come back to the pack with me. At least twenty men followed me in cars back to the pack. It was so embarrassing because the convoy was very unnecessary. Little did he know that I had no plans on coming back anytime soon. But I won't tell him now. I'd tell him when I'd successfully finished everything I wanted to do here. Magma was with me though, so it was fine. Even though I'd grown up here for many years, I didn't have any friends here because my father never let me mix with anyone for the fear that it would distract me or maybe someone would harm me. So even though the place did seem familiar, it didn't really feel like home. The only place that made me feel warm was my mum's room and also her grave. Dad had buried her behind the house so she would be close to home. At first, it scared me because I thought her ghost would come out and hunt us but when I grew up, I found out that it was the best thing my dad c
XAVIERBy the time I got back to the house, it was night time already. I'd flung both their phones into the ocean and turned mine off. Black was giving me updates of their movements. As soon as I heard that they were now boarded on the plane, I calmed down. Finally, there was nothing that could be done. As soon as I put on my phone, I was flooded with messages, several messages from my father and missed calls from several unknown numbers. Ignoring it all, I faces the road and headed home. One way or another, he will still find out and there's mownay I could ignore him forever. Marissa's father also deserved an explanation and also a reason as to why his daughter has decided to leave him. Both of them were waiting right outside the house when I got home and I took a deep breath, knowing that I would have very long talk today. The best thing would be to leave. “Have you lost your damn mind?! Where is my duaghter?! Where is Marissa?”Her father was very visibly upset and he was a
XAVIERAs I stormed back to my room, heavy determination in my mind to finally go ahead with the plan, I stopped at the door. It was shut but I could still hear some mumbling. Even though I pressed my ear against the door, the words weren't audible. Just then, the door flung open and Marissa's father walked out with a frown on his face. As soon as he saw me, his expression changed to a smile. “Oh, Xavier. You're here. You do know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. Marissa should be getting ready for tomorrow.”My eyes moved past him and settled on Marissa that was inside the room, her head was bent and I could barely see her face. But I could sense the mood he had left her in. “She and I had something to discuss. She'll be on her way to her room very soon.”He turned around and looked at her for a second and then walked away. Something told me that he had already done more than enough damage. I made sure that he went down the hall and turned the corner before I
XAVIERThis time around, he wasn't in his office. He was on the balcony, staring out with his hands behind his back like he was plotting to take over the world. Knowing my father, I won't put it past him. He was capable of achieving anything he put his mind to. Which scared me to some extent. “Father, you sent for me.”He didn't turn around to face me. “I did. Xavier, you are one step away from giving me what I asked for. For it is pertinent that I do the same for you. Ask me for anything and I will see to it that it becomes yours.”This was my once in a lifetime opportunity to ask for anything, an opening that I wasn't sure I would ever get again but I had to make the best of it. The reason I came here in the first place and I had to be smart about it too. “Your company. I've been studying your profit and it's been quite impressive. You mentioned a recent investor who has been making things easy for you. Who is it?” That was when he turned around to face me. “Oh, that. Well,
MIAMy phone kept ringing non stop. As much as I didn't want to check it, my curiosity wouldn't let me act like this whole thing didn't affect me. Her entire page was filled with pity comments and people cursing me out, hurling every insult they could think of at me. They went to my page and wor
XAVIER“I knew you'd be fun. You should come out to ride with me everytime. I'll take you to meet the other guys. It's so good to meet someone in the family who's open to it. William is too stuck up, Xerxes is too busy and responsible and the other, well, she's too much of a lady to even think abou
XAVIER“So Silas isn't a good person and that's why you don't want her to go with him?” I was trying to inform my uncle about the whole thing to see how he will help out. He was the only person I could run to right now. “Apparently, every new moon and full moon that comes and passes is a risk bec
MIAXavier left after breakfast. Safe to say he wasn't very happy with me for even bringing it up at all. I knew that he wouldn't buy the idea but I needed him to know about what I was going to do for my safety, not for his approval. Yes, I'm still going to do it. My father also didn't buy the id
