Chapter Forty-Five: The Annoying Ex

Miracle's POV

Hawk told me he will be a little late because he will be coming from a meeting, but that's fine and I told him I can wait.

I went to the restaurant we frequently visit and ordered our food so it will be ready by the time he gets here. I've been living with Hawk for a month now so I know what he likes and dislikes. We have so many similarities and dissimilarities at the same time. We both like pasta, steak, and Chinese food, but he's a fan of European food while I am not much of a fan.

Once done, I looked around the restaurant and noticed that there weren't many people at this time. I was about to message Hawk that I was done ordering when I recognized one particular face, and it was too late for me to avoid his gaze when our eyes met. His eyes turned to slits and a sly smirk showed on his face.

Ugh. Out of all the times, why does it have to be now that I bumped into my annoying ex? And it seems like his owner isn't around and he's w

Chapter Forty-Seven: Creating MemoriesMiracle's POVIf there is another thing I love about school, it would be the festival. It happens every year, and the school is filled with the students and parents having fun, playing games, watching play, and there are lots of booths. There had been a meeting about it, and Caroline insisted I take the role of planning it, but I refused and just suggested some games. I helped my high school students choose their booths while I decided to join my grade school students and play with their families. Everyone was welcome as long as they are related to a student, and one thing I suggested was to tighten the security just in case there will be some people who will take this opportunity to do some bad things. I had my fair share with that, and no student will get hurt on my watch. My students and their families strolled around the school with me. We visited some booths, played some games including shooting games, throwing balls, and darts. They ate s

Chapter Forty-Eight: I have Fallen In Love With HimMiracle's POV"This isn't the kind of fun I had in mind when I came here." Hawk said while panting in between. I stifled a laugh while looking at his disheveled and dirty appearance, far from how handsome and neat he looked when he arrived earlier. He removed his jacket, leaving him in his white shirt and slacks. He was sweating and he had dirt all over, even his face. "And what kind of fun did you have in mind, Mr. Pride?" I asked him while our team around us was trying so hard to catch a chicken. We are the second group and while the first group caught three chickens in less than ten minutes, our team has yet to catch a single one and it's been eight minutes. "Maybe try the kissing booth, beating the youngsters out there or maybe finding the nearest janitor's closet and fu—" I widened my eyes at him before he could finish his sentence, motioning for him to shut his mouth and gesturing around us. The pervert only smirked and we

Chapter Forty-Nine: Mutual FeelingsHawkins' POVMy wife is ignoring me. At first I thought I was just imagining it, but three days passed since the school festival and she avoided me like the plague. She slept in her own room, avoided interacting with me and I tried to understand she was busy with work. But then I started to notice that she will leave for work before me and will come home after me. Something she never did before. We still eat dinner together and we will exchange a few words before she rushes to her room, leaving me wondering what is happening with her. It didn't help that I was busy with work myself because Tom Weller himself formally sent an invitation to me, asking me if I was interested to co-create a product with him and of course I grabbed the chance! In fact, he invited me to his company so we can talk in person and I am planning to take Miracle on a two-day trip to London. "I mentioned that Tom reached out to me, right? Well, he invited me to London and I

I smiled softly, wiping away her tears and kissing her cheeks. "Don't cry anymore.""You–You what? But... But why?" She started struggling with words and I chuckled lightly. "Why? I am not incapable of love, you know? Did you think my heart is made out of stone?" I said, acting hurt, closing one eye and looking at her with the other. Miracle sniffed and her mouth tugged in a smile. "Is that why you're ignoring me? Because you realized you are head over heels in love with me?""You're exaggerating." She pouted slightly, avoiding my eyes. "I... I was just afraid that things will end between us because I fell in love with you and I can't..." She stopped herself, looking back at me, an unknown emotion showing on her face. "You can't what?"She shook her head, swallowing and sighing under her breath. Chapter Fifty-One: Tear Me ApartHawkins' POV"You have an interview with Press Mag at ten later, Mr. Pride." Lizzie reminded me as she listed my agenda for today and I groaned under my breath. "I hate interviews." I grumbled, but remembered I was in a good mood today. "But it can be good for our exposure. I mean, a short interview wouldn't hurt, right?"Lizzie gave me a strange look, probably wondering why I'm in such a good mood when I am often scowling and yelling at everyone to do their work. Honestly, I am not like that most of the time, but I admit that I can be a tyrant boss when their work is untidy and half-assed. I give my hundred percent to work every day so I expect my people to do the same. We are where we are because of hard work, talent and perseverance. Not just plain luck. Before the clock could hit ten, the staff was already in my office, setting up their stuff. I usually give them thirty minutes of my spare time at most when the questions are good. Every minute o

Chapter Fifty-Two: Back to ZeroMiracle's POVAside from teaching major subjects, I also chose to teach other subjects such as arts. When I was still a student, I liked every subject and I was one of the best students my teachers had. To simply put, I was a school nerd and a teacher's pet. I admit I was, but in my defense, it was the only way I cling onto when my own family ignored my existence. It was a way to seek attention and some validation, which I now realize is wrong. "Wow, that is a nice drawing, Pete. Good job." I praised one of my students for drawing the ocean. I smiled at his drawing, and my smile went wider when I was reminded of my first time with Hawkins. He was so romantic this morning. He was like a golden retriever turned into a human by how clingy and sweet he was. He made love to me twice, helped me choose my clothes and blow-dried my hair. My smile faded a little when I remembered that I shouldn't be feeling happy the way I do because this feeling and moment i

The maid tried to stop me but she prevented her from getting close to me and I was able to enter the house. "Now what is a ln educated teacher like you screaming outside my house?" Norman, who was doing his work in the living room like usual, asked me. "Where is my mother? Give her to me and we will leave!" I yelled, looking around to search for her. I started opening door after door while calling out for her and the maid frantically followed after me

Chapter Sixty-Six: The Truth Within Hawkins' POVThree days. Three freaking days. It's been three days since Miracle left and there was no trace or sign of her anywhere. It was like the world conspired to hide her from her. The bus she transferred to was found, but she transferred a lot of times to escape the cameras. She intentionally did it, and it only showed how much she wanted to get away from me. She never turned her phone on again so they couldn't trace the number, and when I called it again, her number was no longer available. I reached out for the highest and most powerful people I know that can help me, but in the end, they still couldn't find her. She was last seen riding a taxi, and when they interrogated the driver, it was just my luck that he had no record of where he took her. I got desperate as time went by, wondering what or how they were doing. It's not that I don't trust her to take care of herself and our child, but the world we live in is cruel. Hah. How ironi

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Sixty-Five: Nothing Without Her

Chapter Sixty-Five: Nothing Without HerHawkins' POVI knew I acted like a jerk when I didn't deny and clear the situation to Miracle, but I saw no reason to. And maybe part of me wanted to see her hurt which I regretted that night. I thought Miracle would avoid me again but she surprised me when she prepared my favorite breakfast, served me and even picked my clothes. My stupid ego thought she was jealous and threatened by Sarah, and she wanted to mark her territory and convince me she's still better, and that she's still my wife. But when she walked me outside and even told me she loved me with a genuine yet sad smile on her face, I knew something wasn't right. I decided to ignore it, however, because I had an important meeting today, but Miracle didn't leave my mind the whole time. I couldn't sit still and I kept pacing back and forth in my office after the meeting. My phone suddenly rang and Jim's name registered on my screen. My heart pounded in my chest as I snatched it from

Chapter Sixty-Four: Running Away with His Child Miracle's POVWhen Mark cheated on me, I realized that my ego was more hurt than my heart. Maybe because I've already seen it coming, and maybe because my love slowly faded. It was easy for me to forget about him and move on. But when I saw Hawk kissing another woman before my eyes, with me under the same roof as him, my heart broke into a million pieces. My heart shattered along with the sauce plate where the cake I devoured was. It felt like I was stabbed repeatedly and I couldn't breathe. My chest constricted and tears poured from my eyes. "Oops, so the rumor is true." The woman nonchalantly said, as if she didn't kiss a rumored married man in his house where his wife could be. Shameless is what I can describe her. She doesn't even look apologetic. If anything, she looked smug and proud of what she did. "I'm leaving, boss. See you tomorrow." The shameless woman said, sending me a malicious look before provoking me even further wh

Chapter Sixty-Three: The Biggest BetrayalHawkins' POV"Why are we leaving, Hawk? I haven't properly greeted your relatives!" Miracle protested as I dragged her out of the place. "Just do what I say!" I snapped at her, my hold around her wrist tightening. I am seeing nothing but red and I have to applaud myself for not lashing out on Landon when he provoked me. I guess I can still think clearly even when I want nothing but to bash his face until the stupid smirk disappears from his face and gouges out his eyes. Fūck, I can still see his face while I was dragging Miracle out. The scumbag was grinning from ear to ear and I'm sure he thinks he's the winner for successfully provoking me but I don't care. I'd rather have him think he won than see him approach Miracle again. I heard Miracle whimpering but I continued dragging her until we reached my far and I made her sit inside first, careful not to hurt her because she's still pregnant with my child. Chapter Sixty-Two: Drowning in JealousyHawkins' POVI wasn't in the mood to attend any party, but I couldn't turn down the invitation of Aunt Blythe, my father's older sister. My family was overly excited about having a new addition to the family and told my relatives about it, now they are bombarding my phone with congratulatory messages and expressing their desire to meet Miracle. Some of them are upset with me because they didn't even know I got married. I didn't want to go anywhere with Miracle, but I guess I have no other choice. Knowing my relatives, they will show up on my doorstep to meet Miracle if I still refuse and I don't want them in my house. When Miracle told me she would buy some things for our baby, I almost joined her. Almost. But then I chose to leave and go to work instead. "Buy whatever or do anything to look decent. I doubt you have a gown in your closet."I swallowed thickly, glancing from the card and back to him. "Can I buy some things for the baby?" I asked in hesitation and waited for his answer. "Do whatever you want. Joy will take you to the place later." He answered, not bothering to look at me and left without saying goodbye. I sighed softly, taking the card and putting it in my pocket. My eyes shifted to Teddy who was looking at me with his puppy eyes. "Okay, I'll buy you a new toy as well." I smiled at him, touching his head affectionately and he barked in delight, his tail wagging happily. I changed into a simple dress and

Chapter Sixty: Goodbye and HelloMiracle's POVIt would be unreasonable and unfair for me to just disappear from school without telling my students. I've only been with them for almost two months, but I believe we have formed a bond between us or at least from my part. They might forget me after a week or so, but I will never forget them, like I held my former students in my heart. My heart feels heavy but I knew I had to do it. The next day, I arrived at school, not to teach, but to say my goodbye. Caroline's office was the first I visited and as expected, she was incredibly sad with the news. "You brought colors to this school, and you were our miracle, Mira. But I understand that your health and your baby's are your priority. I'm not accepting this, you can always come back after you give birth. I mean, you technically own this school." Caroline said, putting my resignation in one of her drawers and pulling me in a hug. "I will try to visit you often, hmm?"I nodded in response b
