Miracle's POV

I stared at my step-sister and only then I noticed the glow she had. She also gained a little weight.

"And I'm guessing she gave you what I can't?"

"Yes." Mark proudly said and hugged Blair in front of me. I did not miss the way she smirked at me when she thought no one else could see.

I was calm on the outside, but I was breaking all over again inside. I was a screaming mess and it's taking everything in me not to break down in front of them. My hands started shaking and my eyes brimming with tears.

My eyes shifted to my so-called father who is just letting Mark insult his own daughter in front of him. But then again, he always favored Blair over me. Ever since she came to this house, she became the princess. His favorite child. She was the good and smart daughter while I was the worthless one.

"I didn't expect you to be the father of the year, Dad, you never were, but you could have at least told me about me if you knew," I started, my voice breaking. "Three years. I wasted three years married to a man fūcking your own step-daughter. Me, Dad, your own blood! You should be on my side and not theirs!" I exclaimed in tears but still remained standing.

"Stop being dramatic, Miracle. A man's honor is a child and you can't give him that so he went looking somewhere else. I don't see anything wrong with that. The divorce papers are in your hand. You can free yourself now and everyone can be happy."

I gasped softly at his words that felt like knives embedding into my skin, tearing my skin and making me bleed out the blood I share with him on the floor.

I can't believe those words came from the very man who made me.

"And you call yourself a father? God, what did I expect from you anyway?" I barked out a laugh and started signing the papers one by one, hearing Blair cry out in happiness and her mother hugging her.

"We're free now, Mother." Blair cried dramatically and I looked at them in repulsion. Are these really the people I lived with for so many years?

Even my father has a proud smile on his face while looking at Mark and Blair. My stomach churned and I wanted to vomit everything I ate.

"Congratulations to you all. I hope you all rot in hell." I said coldly and took a step towards the stairs when Mark blocked my way. "What are you doing?"

"Did we forget to mention that from now on, you no longer have the right to live here?" He asked with a smug look on his face and I looked at Dad.

"You are letting these people kick out your real family?" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"What real family, Mira? We are his real family." Delilah interrupted, wrapping her manicured hand around my father who smiled at her words.

I clenched my fists, crumpling the papers. "You are a coward. You both are cowards!"

I gasped when I felt a sting on my cheek and I glared at Mark, holding my hurt cheek.

"Hon, stop." I heard Blair say in feign sympathy, but I knew she was the one celebrating the most.

I let the hand holding the papers fly to his face and watched the divorce papers slowly fall to the ground.

"You ungrateful jerk. You wouldn't be wearing those expensive suits if it weren't for me. I picked you up from the street when you were no one and you have the nerve to hurt me?!"

Blair appeared in front of Mark to touch his face and hugged him before turning to me.  "Just leave, Mira, please. We just want to be happy. Mark and I are in love, can't you see? I know you will find the right man for you someday."

"Stop pretending you care! And I am not leaving without my things and my mother!"

Blair stepped closer to me and whispered, "What do you mean yours, sister? Your father disowned you, your husband divorced you. Nothing here is yours. Your things, your money, your car, your family, they are all mine now." She taunted me in a voice that only I could hear.

I pushed her away from me, but the drama queen made it look more dramatic and she fell to the ground. Mark, my father and Delilah were on her in a second, and they all glared at me.

"You evil witch! Blair has always been so kind to you!" Delilah screamed at me, and I couldn't help but feel nervous when Blair was clutching her stomach with pain evident on her face.

Mark pointed his finger at me. "If something happens to her and our child, I will never forgive you!"

I breathed heavily and I was about to walk past them when I heard voices behind me and when I turned around, I saw cops entering the house.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. We are here to make an arrest. Is Mrs. Miracle Reeve here?"

I stepped back and automatically defended myself. "I didn't do anything wrong! What do you mean you're arresting me officers? On what ground?"

The officers walked closer to me and showed me the warrant they have. "You are under arrest for theft."

"You filed a case against me?!" I asked my father who's standing with his other family instead of standing with me. "I never stole anything from you!"

Dad just stared at me without any hint of guilt in his face. "See you in court, Miracle, and don't worry, we will take care of your mother."

The officers handcuffed me while reciting my rights and I started thrashing around.

"No! Mom!" I screamed and looked desperately for her, as if she would magically be healed and save me.

I was not even afraid of being wrongfully accused. I am scared of not seeing my mother anymore and leaving her behind to these monsters! God knows what they will do to her!

"I tried to defend you, dear sister. I'm sorry. Don't worry, we will visit you." Blair said, now standing on her feet, and wiped her fake tears.

"Hopefully, you will reflect on what you did wrong while you're inside, Miracle." Mark said with a fake sadness in his face but I could see a stupid grin on his face.

"Our poor daughter, Norman!" Delilah cried out and hid her face in my father's chest, but I knew she too, was smiling behind her act.

I looked at them one by one, cursing them and wishing for their death in my head.

"This isn't over. I will make you all pay for this. You might be laughing now, but I promise I will have the last laugh!"

This isn't the end. I will come back and I will save my mother, and myself from them. That is a promise.

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Seventy-Three: Chivalry Isn't Dead

Chapter Seventy-Three: Chivalry Isn't DeadMiracle's POV"Get in the car, Miracle Pride." Hawkins said as he followed me in his car when I refused to get in.I was really surprised to see him outside the house I was staying at, and I figured he followed us last night because there is no way Landon told him where I am. I admit that I was happy seeing him, but I am also annoyed he did not respect my wishes. "No, thank you. The school is just around the corner and it's good exercise to walk around." I replied without looking at him and proceeded to walk the familiar to the school. Like usual, I stopped by the bakery and the kind old couple greeted me. I didn't have to tell them what I wanted and they were already preparing it. "For the kids?" Hawk, who appeared beside me, guessed and I raised an eyebrow at him in question. "Just a wild guess." He shrugged and knocked on the glass where the breads are displayed. "Make them double, please."I opened my mouth to protest but he was alread

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Seventy-Two: I Will Follow You Around

Chapter Seventy-Two: I Will Follow You AroundHawkins' POVI just couldn't let Miracle go. Not like that. Not again. So I did what I had to even if I turned out to be the bad guy, and followed her when Landon, that bastard, took her back to where she came from. I was surprised how far it was. We drove for at least eight hours until they reached a small and unknown town. I had a hard time following them because not many cars drive this way. I had to wait and put a safe distance between our cars. I almost lost them when I purposely fell back, but thankfully found them again and from afar, I saw how Landon dropped her off in front of a small house. Can it even be called a house when my bathroom is bigger than it?I turned off my car, hid behind a wall so I could see them. I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but I saw them hugging and every part of me froze. I knew it was nothing, but knowing who that man is made me feel uneasy. They said goodbye and I hid behind my car when L

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Seventy-One: Walls Crumbling

Chapter Seventy-One: Walls CrumblingMiracle's POVI went with Hawk's family instead of riding with him, and I kind of had a feeling they knew I wouldn't do it anyway. According to what they said earlier, I think they know what happened between Hawk and I. They knew what he did, and the way they talk to me proves that they are not angry at me or anything for leaving. Somehow, I was relieved at that. I didn't want them to hate me or anything. I thought they would side with Hawk, but it looks like they are on my side. That warms my heart. The couple was in another car, being driven by their driver, while I was with Zara in another car. She hasn't let go of my hand since we left the venue and I just let her cling to me like a lost puppy. "Teddy misses you. Whenever I take him from Hawk's house, I often see him in the kitchen with a sad look on his face." She told me and I felt sad hearing it. Teddy has become close to my heart because he's just so sweet and hearing how he's sad over m

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Seventy: Double Trouble

Chapter Seventy: Double TroubleHawkins' POV"What do you think you're doing?" I asked Miracle through gritted teeth. I was drowning with jealousy. I am trying hard not to explode and ruin Landon's grandpa's birthday, but my patience is running out. I want nothing but to remove his arm around my wife's waist, twist them until I hear his bone breaking, punch his face and tell him not to touch her ever again. After I ruin the bastard's face, I will drag Miracle away from here, ask her why she's doing this, but in the end, I will understand the reason because the last time we met, I fūcked up. Fūck. I missed her so much. My heart almost exploded earlier and it's taken everything in me not to pull her in my arms and tell her how much I've missed her. I wanted so badly to ask how she was, where she was, and if she's doing fine, but as I can see, Miracle looks healthy, and she's still the most beautiful woman in my eyes. I know she's hiding her baby bump behind that dress, but I can still

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Sixty-Nine: Payback

Chapter Sixty-Nine: PaybackMiracle's POVWhen I first saw Landon, my impression of him was that he's a typical rich arrogant man. Not to mention that he and Hawk are obviously not on good terms. But that changed the more I got to know the man. I didn't know that the days after I saw him in Marina Town would start to change because of him. After our introduction, Landon didn't pry about my relationship with Hawk like I thought he would. Instead, he asked what I was doing here. I told him that I teach grade school students and I've come to know that he's an architect. "Won't they look for you?" I asked him, looking back to the people he's with. He wanted to see the school and asked me to show him the way."Nah, don't mind them. They can find something else to do. It's been years since I was last here so I want to walk around." Landon replied nonchalantly while looking around. "Do you ever wonder why this small town remains the same when the other town is thriving?""I heard no one w

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Sixty-Eight: His Enemy is My Friend

Chapter Sixty-Eight: His Enemy is My FriendMiracle's POVLife without Hawk had been lonely but somehow, I also felt a sense of peace. It was then that I realized that I needed this. I needed some time for myself, to be alone. Being lonely is nothing new to me. Although I grew up with a family, I lost my mother at a young age. She's alive, I can see her, but she became a living statue. My father was never there and he was more involved with his second family. I had friends, I had Mark, but it still felt lonely, until I met... Hawk. He made me feel loved, cared for, for once. With him, it felt like I can be myself, like I can be someone. He didn't make me feel alone. He supported me, he was there for me. And it felt nice. When I left, I made sure that I wouldn't be found. It was hard because I had to transfer from one vehicle to another to avoid CCTV from capturing my location. I also had to change my clothes a few times. It took a lot of effort to make sure they wouldn't be able to

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Sixty-Six: The Truth Within

Chapter Sixty-Six: The Truth Within Hawkins' POVThree days. Three freaking days. It's been three days since Miracle left and there was no trace or sign of her anywhere. It was like the world conspired to hide her from her. The bus she transferred to was found, but she transferred a lot of times to escape the cameras. She intentionally did it, and it only showed how much she wanted to get away from me. She never turned her phone on again so they couldn't trace the number, and when I called it again, her number was no longer available. I reached out for the highest and most powerful people I know that can help me, but in the end, they still couldn't find her. She was last seen riding a taxi, and when they interrogated the driver, it was just my luck that he had no record of where he took her. I got desperate as time went by, wondering what or how they were doing. It's not that I don't trust her to take care of herself and our child, but the world we live in is cruel. Hah. How ironi

  • His Miracle, Her Pride   Chapter Sixty-Five: Nothing Without Her

Chapter Sixty-Five: Nothing Without HerHawkins' POVI knew I acted like a jerk when I didn't deny and clear the situation to Miracle, but I saw no reason to. And maybe part of me wanted to see her hurt which I regretted that night. I thought Miracle would avoid me again but she surprised me when she prepared my favorite breakfast, served me and even picked my clothes. My stupid ego thought she was jealous and threatened by Sarah, and she wanted to mark her territory and convince me she's still better, and that she's still my wife. But when she walked me outside and even told me she loved me with a genuine yet sad smile on her face, I knew something wasn't right. I decided to ignore it, however, because I had an important meeting today, but Miracle didn't leave my mind the whole time. I couldn't sit still and I kept pacing back and forth in my office after the meeting. My phone suddenly rang and Jim's name registered on my screen. My heart pounded in my chest as I snatched it from
