Confession Of Love

Another full moon! Another painful transformation! Rehaan was standing in the jungle alone, waiting for his transformation process to start. As the moon shone brighter in the sky, Rehaan's whole body started to feel the pain. It was becoming unbearable for him. Slowly he transformed into a wolf and started howling. After some time he transformed back into his human form. Rehaan fell as he was too weak. He stood up with difficulty, walked a few steps, and then again fell. It felt like his body didn't have the energy to even get up. After much effort, finally he reached home.

Maya was looking at the moon from her room's window. She was admiring the beauty of the moon when suddenly she remembered something. "Today Rehaan might have transformed into his wolf form. I hope he is okay." Maya said in her mind.

Maya called Rehaan on his mobile, but he didn't answer her call. She thought maybe he was too tired.

The next day, when Maya entered the class, she noticed Rehaan was sitting alone. She sat next to him.

Maya "How are you, Rehaan?"

Rehaan "I'm good."

Maya "Yesterday night, I called you but... "

Rehaan "I was too tired yesterday. Sorry couldn't speak to you."

Maya "It's okay."

Maya smiled at Rehaan but he ignored her. After the class was over Maya was about to say something when Rehaan's phone rang. Rehaan excused himself and answered the call.

Later in the canteen, Rehaan saw Maya sitting alone. She was looking gloomy. Rehaan sat on the chair facing Maya. He smiled at her. She smiled back.

Maya "Are you okay? For the past few days, you have become so quiet. I felt you were ignoring me after the competition. Are you angry with me?"

Rehaan "Of course not. You know that we werewolves have to transform on the full moon. It's a compulsion. So actually I was a little disturbed. Nothing else. Everything is fine. And I don't think I could be angry with you."

Maya "When did you become a werewolf? I mean when did you transform for the first time?"

Rehaan "I was fourteen. After I turned fourteen, I could feel something strange happening to me. My Mom told me that we are werewolves. I was surprised to know that. That time I felt it was going to be so cool to become a werewolf, but then... "

Rehaan stopped as he noticed Ankit coming towards them.

Rehaan "Happy Birthday Ankit!"

Rehaan hugged him. Ankit hugged him back and thanked him.

Maya "Happy Birthday Ankit!"

Ankit "Thank you, Maya. Rehaan, Maya, I wanted to invite you today to my birthday party. My Grandma and Grandpa are throwing a small party in the evening at my house, at Six o'clock. Please come."

Maya "I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to make it up today. I'm sorry."

Ankit "It's okay Maya. Rehaan you will have to come."

Rehaan "Of course I'll come."

Rehaan noticed Ankit had become gloomy after Maya rejected his invitation. Ankit left from there.

Rehaan "Why are you not coming to his party?"

Maya "You know I don't like parties. That day on your insistence I went for the party."

Rehaan "Come on Maya, that day we had so much fun. Today is his birthday. Ankit lost his parents a few years ago in an accident. Since then, he never celebrated his birthday. This year his Grandparents are throwing a party! He wants to celebrate with us. Come on let's go together!"

Maya "Okay. Will you pick me up?"

Rehaan "Well... ummm... I don't have any problem if your parents wouldn't mind."

Maya "I'll be waiting for you."

Rehaan "I'll pick you up at six o'clock."

In the evening, Nisha was sitting on a sofa in her living room, when Maya came there. She was all ready, waiting for Rehaan to come and pick her up. Nisha noticed Maya was lost in her thoughts and smiling. She got suspicious.

Nisha "Why is Rehaan coming to pick you up?"

Maya "I asked him to come."

The doorbell rang. It was sharp at six o'clock. "Very punctual", Said Nisha. Nisha opened the door. Rehaan saw her for the first time. Nisha looked quite younger than how he thought her to be.

Rehaan "Hello ma'am. I'm Rehaan."

Nisha "Hello. Please come in."

Rehaan came inside the house. Nisha asked him to sit. Rehaan asked about Maya's Dad, and Maya told him he was not at home. Nisha tried to get some information about Rehaan, but Maya interrupted her and said that they were getting late for the party. Maya and Rehaan left the house. Nisha found Maya's behavior strange. She felt Maya was trying to protect Rehaan.

Ankit was very happy to see Maya at his party. He cut the cake after she came with Rehaan. Everyone was enjoying the party. Rehaan came close to Maya and said, "Maya I want to talk to you. Just come with me." He held Maya's hand and took her to the terrace.

Maya "What are you doing? The party is going on in the hall and you brought me here. What do you want to say?"

Rehaan "Maya I want to say something. I love you. I don't know how you will react. I just can't hide my feelings anymore."

Maya "What are you saying? This is not right. We are different. How can you... "

Rehaan "Forget everything for a second and ask yourself, don't you love me? Don't you feel anything for me? Is it wrong to love someone?"

Maya "Rehaan we are different."

Rehaan "How are we different? We both are pretending to be someone else in front of this world. But we can be ourselves with each other."

Maya "I'm a dead human Rehaan."

Rehaan "Still you make me feel alive."

Maya "Rehaan.... I... I don't know what to say."

Rehaan "Don't you love me? "

Maya "I do. I love you."

Rehaan hugged Maya. Maya realized what she just said. She didn't know why she said so. Still, she hugged him back. Ankit was watching them from a distance. He came there looking for them as he noticed they were missing from the party. Tears formed in Ankit's eyes. He turned back and came down. After the party was over, everyone left. Rehaan and Maya left Ankit's house together.

Rehaan dropped Maya home and left from there after telling her goodbye. Maya informed her parents what happened that evening after returning home. Rajveer and Nisha were happy to know that Maya was following their instructions.

Rehaan returned home. Kamini asked him, "What happened? What did she say?"

Rehaan "I did what you asked me to do Mom. She said yes."

Rehaan went to his room. Kamini was happy to see her plan succeeding.
