The Dance Competition

Finally, the wait was over! Today was the dance competition. The competition began with some amazing performances, with Rehaan and Maya being the last ones to perform. The students and teachers wished them good luck and they were all set to perform when their names would be announced. Maya and Rehaan looked stunning in their red and black outfits!

Rehaan "Nervous?"

Maya "Absolutely not!"

Rehaan "We will win, I'm sure."

Maya smiled at Rehaan.

When the host announced their names, they made a dramatic entry. Their dance moves, their sizzling chemistry, their costume, their passion, everything was out of the world! Their performance was loved by the audience. The judges announced the names of the winners. As most people expected, Rehaan and Maya won the competition. The whole college clapped for them with joy! Rehaan and Maya received the trophy.

Rehaan "Congratulations Maya!"

Maya "Thanks. Congratulations to you too!"

Ankit and some of his friends wanted to celebrate this victory. Ankit insisted they keep a small party at his home that evening. Ankit and his friends invited Rehaan and Maya to the party after congratulating them. Though Maya tried to refuse to come to the party, at Rehaan's insistence she agreed.

Ankit informed his grandparents that he was coming home with his friends. They were happy to know the cause of his happiness. Rehaan, Maya and some other friends along with Ankit entered his house. Ankit's grandparents welcomed them warmly. They met Maya for the first time and liked her very much. Maya too was touched by their sweet behavior. After the party was over, one by one everyone left.

Ankit's Grandma asked him "You like Maya very much, don't you?"

Ankit "Yes I do."

Ankit's Grandma "Then tell her. She is a very nice girl. I and your Grandpa liked her very much."

Ankit felt a little shy and nodded his head.

Outside the house, Rehaan and Maya were walking together.

Rehaan "Can I drop you home?"

Maya "Sure."

Maya got inside Rehaan's car and informed her driver to pick up her car from the location she sent. On the way, Rehaan expressed his happiness in winning the competition. Rehaan kept talking about something or the other while driving, with Maya patiently listening to him. With time, they have become good friends.

When they reached Maya's home, Maya asked Rehaan to come inside but he refused as it was getting late. Rajveer noticed Maya and Rehaan together outside, through a window. Rehaan got in his car and drove away.

Maya rang the doorbell. Rajveer opened the door.

Maya "Dad we won the competition! I'm so happy today."

Rajveer "Come inside first."

Maya noticed Rajveer was angry. She came inside the house and sat on a sofa. Nisha climbed down the stairs with an expression of disappointment. Both Rajveer and Nisha sat on another sofa facing Maya.

Nisha "We gave you a responsibility, and what have you done? For you, winning a dance competition was more important than fulfilling your duties towards your clan?"

Maya "I did my job too. I got some information about Rehaan. He lives with his mother, Kamini. His father is no more. He was seven years old when his father died."

Rajveer "That's it? Nothing else? Do you feel that's enough? What do you know about his mother? How did his father die? What happened to him? How many more werewolves like him are here in this city? Do you have any idea how powerful they are?"

Maya "I'll find out soon."

Nisha "You have wasted a lot of time Maya. Now it's time to do something."

Rajveer "I've seen you and Rehaan together today. I felt that he was falling for you. Tell him that you have started loving him. Then only he would trust you completely and share his people's secrets."

Maya "I can't do this. It's wrong. Rehaan doesn't love me. And he would never accept my love if I say so. He knows what I am, then why would he.... "

Nisha "He will. Just do what we are saying. Maybe you don't know what is happening. Rajveer felt someone was keeping an eye on him. Maybe the wolves are behind us now. Rehaan was sitting on a chair smiling, thinking about Maya when Kamini rang the doorbell and a servant opened the door. Kamini entered the house and stood right in front of Rehaan. The servant went away and Rehaan stood up.

Rehaan "Mom, I won the competition!"

Kamini "So what? What should I do? Be happy? Throw a party? Come on, let's celebrate this victory."

Rehaan "What happened Mom? Why are you so upset?"

Kamini "I have given you one work and you couldn't do that also. I had a meeting with our people today. They are scared because the Vampire King and his family are here. They are afraid of that girl. She is extremely powerful. She has the power to finish us all. You were asked to find out about her. Everything about her, her weakness, her strength, what are her intentions and you did nothing. Simply nothing! "

Rehaan "Mom I'm trying."

Kamini "And you failed. You are good for nothing. Do you know what Maya's father Rajveer did? He killed your father. He murdered him!"

Rehaan "Mom what are you saying? That can't be true. Dad's death was an accident. It was a fire accident."

Kamini started crying. She said that Rehaan's father went to meet Rajveer. He wanted to end the enmity, but Rajveer tricked him and stabbed him with a silver knife on his back. Kamini left from there wiping her tears.

Rehaan couldn't believe that his mother lied to him. His father was killed by a vampire! He was in shock.

Rehaan went to Kamini and promised her that he would take his father's revenge. Kamini hugged him tightly. Rehaan hugged her back with rage in his eyes.
