Chapter 6

Wendy.

"Wendy! Wendy!!" Wendy heard her parents' voices from the foot of the door. They slammed the door, threatening to open it.

"Wendy, if you do not open this door, I will break it down now!" Her older brother, Ruben, shouted.

"Wendy, open the door. You need to prepare for the palace visit today. Don't forget it's my turn to help clean the Pack house," Juliet called, but Wendy could not mindlink her mother.

Poppy was in so much pain. Wendy felt weak and looked at the door. Her body ached as the memory of what happened the previous night filled her heart.

Alpha Dax's betrayal. After mating with her, he rejected her. Wendy shut her eyes. She was a mute, an Omega. How dare she trust that shameless Alpha? He seduced her the previous night and mated with her.

"Wendy, I'm counting to ten. If you don't open this door, I will break it open! One!" Ruben counted, waiting for Wendy to come and open the door.

"Two!"

"Three!" His voice rose an octave.

"Ruben, go check if Wendy's window is open. I'm afraid. Are you sure she hasn't hurt herself? Go and check," Juliet dismissed Ruben, her voice shaking with anxiety.

Wendy lay on her bed, listening to her parents discuss her.

Her brother appeared at the open window. Sunrays bathed him as he pulled the wooden windows apart and peered into her room.

"Wendy!!" He screamed when he saw her naked.

"What's wrong, Ruben? What happened?" Wendy heard her mother's voice from the door. Her older brother jumped through the window and entered her room. He rushed to her bed.

"What happened to you? Who did this?" Ruben asked, his voice shaking.

"Ruben, open the door!" Her mother pounded on the door.

Ruben stood up from Wendy's bed and moved to the door to pull it open. His parents rushed in.

"Wendy! What happened to you? Who did this?" Her mother rushed to the bed.

Juliet wore a green dress, the custom uniform for Omegas working in the Alpha's mansion. It was Saturday morning. Juliet shook Wendy, trying to mindlink her, but Wendy could not respond.

Wendy saw her mother looking at her.

"Wendy, who did this to you? Tell us," her brother asked, his voice cold. His jaws tightened.

Wendy shut her eyes. Poppy still hurt and healing. She could not mindlink her parents. Her father stepped forward and picked up the bedsheets. He sniffed them deeply.

"The scent is thick, more powerful, like a domineering scent. Wendy, did any Alpha or Beta wolf come here?" Amos asked, his voice cold.

"What? Which Alpha? Amos, don't say something that will put us all in danger. This is the Omega's quarters. How can an Alpha wolf or Beta come here? Wendy didn't find her mate. Who did this?" Juliet asked, refusing to believe it was an Alpha wolf.

"Which Alpha are you suspecting? Alpha Dax or his cousin, Kingsley? Kingsley is mated with two pups. Are you saying Alpha Dax is the one you suspect?" Juliet asked aloud, her eyes popping out.

Amos's jaw clenched. His grip on the bedsheets tightened as he drawled, "I'm not saying it's Alpha Dax. But what if it's him? Wendy, did you see the man who came here to do this?"

Wendy looked at her parents' worried faces. Her mother sobbed and held her on the bed.

Her brother stood with a conflicted look, a wave of concern washing over him. Her father's eyes urged her to tell him the truth.

"Was it Alpha Dax?" Amos asked, his voice dripping cold.

Wendy shook her head. She could not tell her parents the truth. She knew Luna Stella did not like her. Her mother had suffered torture and bullying from Luna Stella. Wendy did not want her parents to suffer because of her.

She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Ruben stepped closer to Wendy's bed. "Wendy, you need to tell us the truth. Whoever came in here and slept with you will not go unpunished. Just because you are mute does not mean he can defile you and go scot-free." His eyes darkened, anger coursing through his veins.

"Wendy, last night I came to check on you. Why didn't you tell me someone was here? Why did you keep quiet? Why didn't you call us or Ruben for help?" Her mother snapped, cradling Wendy's head on her thighs.

Wendy lay weakly on the bed, her head resting on her mother's thighs. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

How could she reveal to her parents that it was Alpha Dax? Who would believe her? Besides, Alpha Dax already rejected her. What use was it to mention Dax to anyone? It would only add fuel to the fire.

"Wendy!" Her father snapped. "You are coming with me to the Alpha's mansion. We need to report to Alpha Neo and Luna Stella. My daughter will not be defiled in this pack without getting justice. Come on, put on your dress properly. Let's go."

"Babe, you cannot do that. You cannot accuse Alpha Dax. What if Alpha Neo banishes us?" Juliet asked, tears streaming down her cheeks as she peered at her husband's face.

Wendy saw her father's jaw set. "I will not let this matter lie low. What if that monster comes here to mate with Wendy when we are not around? We must report this!"

Ruben stepped forward. "Mom, Dad is right. If Alpha Dax is not the man who came here, then they must provide justice to find who did."

Juliet shook her head. "No. Wendy, you should tell us. Who did this to you? You cannot let your father and brother get humiliated without telling us who. Did you see the man? Tell me the truth. Was he Alpha Dax? He has a girlfriend. Is he your mate? Did he reject you?"

Tears fell from Juliet's eyes, wetting Wendy's face.

Wendy blinked her tears away. She nodded.

"What?" Her mother looked horrified. She could feel her daughter was in pain, and indeed a man's thick scent clung to her. It was obvious the bastard even had the guts to mate with Wendy in their home.

"Are you sure about this? Alpha Dax, or was it someone else?"

Wendy shook her head.

"Is it Dax?" Her mother asked, her eyes widening in horror.

Wendy nodded in confirmation.

"I knew it was him. His dominating scent cannot be masked. Come on, Wendy. Let's go. We are going to the Alpha's mansion right now!" Her father declared as he moved to the bed to drag her up. Her mother tried to interfere.

"Honey, I don't think this will work. What if Alpha Neo does not believe us? Alpha Dax cannot be mated to Wendy. She must have mistaken the man who was here last night. It cannot be Alpha Dax," Juliet stated, refusing to believe Alpha Dax was the one.

"Mom! Let's try to question him. Wendy says it's him. Let's go together," Ruben interjected as Juliet held Wendy's hand, refusing to let her husband drag Wendy away from the bed.

"Wendy, are you sure it's Alpha Dax? Don't send your father and brother to jail. Did you see the man?" Juliet asked again, tears flowing down her cheeks as she sobbed heavily.

Wendy nodded.

"Enough questions!" Amos snapped. "When we get to the palace, Alpha Dax will explain himself. Today is Saturday, and the pack elders will be present. Let's go."

Amos moved to the bed to meet Wendy.

Wendy saw her father take her hand. "Come on, get up," he said softly, supporting her weak body. As she stood, Wendy felt weak.

"Ruben, get a glass of milk for Wendy. She's too feeble," Juliet ordered, and Ruben rushed out. When he returned, he handed a glass of milk to Wendy.

Wendy accepted the cup and drank the warm milk. Her body felt better, but her heart still ached from the pain of rejection. From catching Alpha Dax cheating on her, to lying to her, and now mating with her and rejecting her. She wished she could deal with him. But that might not come true.
