Chapter Thirteen

“Emeliano!”. He heard his sister’s scream.

“Raina!”. He called out. “Mom! Dad!”.

Raine jerked awake from his dream sweating profusely. It was always the same one and no matter how hard he forced himself to remember… he couldn’t.

He guessed it was the thought of their anniversary that brought on the nightmare again and it was like that every year.

He got out of bed and walked to his bathroom to wash his face, avoided looking at his reflection in the mirror and walked back to his room. He checked the time on his phone and saw that it was only two am and he sighed knowing that he wouldn’t be able to sleep again so he went to pick up his laptop from the table where he was charging it and got to work.

If he couldn’t sleep then he could work and take his mind of his parents and Meira as well.
