Chapter Eighteen
We walk around for a few hours taking in the amazing wildlife, Anthony was right, my foot was actually feeling a bit better after all the walking. We take a rest on one of the benches, so Amelia could have a bottle, I sat beside Anthony as he fed her.
I did enjoy the walk but I don't know if that's a good thing, should I be enjoying myself? I mean I'm definitely not always, but it's moments like this when I see a different side to Anthony. Does that make me weird for feeling like this? I still wanna go home and if the chance came right now in this moment to go home, I'd take it without even a second thought. We've been here for almost five months and there's only been this time I'm enjoying myself, again does that make me weird?

The last few days have been a blur, Anthony has had his friends around every night, drinking until the early hours. He calls it breaking in the new house, I call it slowly breaking your body. I had just put Amelia down for a nap when I pass Anthony in the hallway, he didn't look that great, probably from all the drinking. I'm awoke to Anthony taking Amelia off me and moving her to the cot, I take a look outside to see it was now pitch black, we'd been asleep for a few hours. I turn back around to fall back to sleep, but Anthony jumps beside me my eyes opening immediately. "It took awhile and a lot of tears, but John is safely at home" he smiles, looking over at me with his arms crossed, I just nod closing my eyes once more but he nudges my side "now it's time to hold up your end of the deal" he says with a pointed look, I mean I did tell him I would and he actually did stick to his word for once. I nod sitting up in bed rubbing my eyes, now I didn't know if I wanted to go into full detail. But I didn't know how I could change the story without going into full detail, I didn't realise I hadn't spoke until he nudged me again.

It's been a few days since the whole John fiasco, at first I was worried that Anthony did something to him but he rang yesterday. He asked to speak to me which Anthony allowed, he apologised over and over again and thanked me for stopping Anthony. I was just glad he was safe and kind of shocked that Anthony actually listened to me, I mean he's been so different since we moved here, probably because he knows there isn't a way out.I was playing with Amelia in the living room, making sure she didn't get hurt as she was trying to crawl, Anthony was somewhere in the house doing who knows what, I tend not to ask questions, when the bell for the gate rang through the house. I knew I wasn't meant to open the door but I didn't know if Anthony heard it, I make sure Amelia was safe before rising to my feet. I had just finished getting Amelia the ready for the day,when Anthony walks through the door, I send him a quick smile turning back around to look at Amelia. I feel his hand going around my waist causing me to freeze, he leans down smiling at Amelia just as I put her last sock on. Once she was finished I go to move but he takes my hand pulling me back towards him, he pulls me straight in front for him where he tucks a piece of my hair behind my ear. "How did I ever get so lucky to find you and Amelia?" He asks with a smile, wait so he isn't fully mad, he remembers he also found Amelia and we didn't have her. I hear the back door opening causes me to wipe my tears away and move so my back was against the door. I didn't want Anthony to come in and see me crying over Adam. Not long after the back door opened the playroom door behind me slowly opens, I continue to play with Amelia to try to make it seem like I didn't notice he had walked in. I hear him mumble "I need to make a call" to himself before he walks away leaving the playroom door open. I put all of Amelia's toys out for her to play with, I quietly get up and walk out the playroom walking down the hall. I walk up the end of the hall, where I don't see Anthony but I hear him shouting, probably down a phone, I wanted to stay to listen but Amelia crying prevents me from doing so. I quietly and quickly run back to the playroom where she immediately giggles, she probably didn't want me to leave her alone. I smile a little but faintly in the background

A few days have passed since Anthony took us to the graveyard, he's spent most of his time in his room when he does come out he doesn't speak. Amelia had just gone down for her nap when I see him sitting in the garden, he sat with his head in his hands looking like he was talking to himself. I debate whether to go out there or not to check, I was running different scenarios in my head of what not to do. I mean it might make him angry, but if I don't go he might get offended that I didn't, I feel like I've had this mental talk with myself before. I decide I probably want to know what's going around the mind of the person holding us, I slowly make my way towards the sliding door where he sat facing forward. Unfortunately, the glass was too thick for me to hear what he was saying to himself, I wait a second before slowly opening the door, which alerts him so he turns to look at me.

"I don't know okay, I have no clue why your husband was looking me up! Maybe because he's just met me and he was doing some back ground checks for some reason" I start, but she shakes her head moving backwards with Amelia in her arms "okay please just put her down" I say, having to hold back tears that wanted to escape my eyes, Anthony walks behind me with his hand on my back. "He came here a day after you came, he actually hasn't left, so if you wanna see him I'd put our daughter down" he says, as I look behind me I see one of his hands were hidden behind my back, I turn a little to see he was hiding the gun. "You'll take me to him right now?" She asks him, I wanted to tell her what was maybe gonna happen, but all I could actually think about was getting Amelia back in my arms out of harms way.

It's the next morning since I spoke with Blake on the phone, Anthony slept all night and woke up telling me it was the best sleep he's had in months. Which I think meant I was in the clear, it seemed like he hadn't spelt in days so he probably would have put it down to that. I was sat in the kitchen staring at the door to the mystery office, when I hear a phone ringing, Anthony walks down the stairs picking his mobile off the side sending me a smile walking out. I continue to stare off into space when I hear Anthony cursing, he runs back into the room messing with things around the kitchen. He goes to the cupboard pulling a bunch of gym bags our the cupboard, without even looking in my direction he leaves the kitchen once more.
