Marietta’s POV

Everything in me went still. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe.

“What?” I whispered.

She didn’t repeat it. She didn’t have to. I’d heard it loud and clear.

I’ve just been in the hospital bed for two months, and Aiden has moved on?

“How is that ever possible? How could he move on so quickly?” I whispered, crashing to the cold floor.

“That’s because he forgot about you after the accident,” Bella whispered.

I blinked back the tears in my eyes, letting myself know that I hadn’t seen Aiden.

He hasn’t refused me yet. “He said he loved me,”

“I know,” Bella answered.

I slowly got back to my feet and tried to make my way out when I stumbled on the doctor.

“Is everything okay? Miss Etta? Miss Bella?” The doctor questioned, looking confused.

“Yes, doctor. Thanks for the help. I’m better now.” I nodded, faking a smile.

“Bella, can we leave now?”

“Wait. You need to see the pharmacist downstairs and get these medicines. It’s for Miss Etta,” the doctor said, handing over a white pa

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 267

Michael’s POVMy eyes fluttered open just as a policeman stepped into the cell.“Mr. Whitmore, there’s someone here to see you,” he said, motioning for me to follow as he unlocked the door.I stood, stiff from hours on the cold bench, and stepped out silently.Donovan and I had been separated the moment the judgment was passed.Since then, I hadn’t seen him, didn’t know where he was, or what he was plotting—if anything. But one thing I knew for certain: I couldn’t stay trapped in this place forever. Not just the prison, but this headspace I’d been stuck in—full of guilt, and regret. Marietta’s face had been haunting me.The woman I betrayed. The love I destroyed. And my daughter… the one who never got to live.As the officer led me down the dim hallway and into the visiting room, my breath caught in my throat.Sitting across the table was Mr. Sterling. My heart skipped, and my steps faltered. The officer saluted him before quietly exiting the room, leaving just us.I thought about t

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 266

Marietta's POVHe was just about to speak when the door suddenly flung open, and in walked Lena, his wife in a tailored designer suit that looked like it belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine.I blinked. They work together now?“What's going on, Mr. Vanché? And what's she doing here?” Lena asked, her tone crisp.Mr. Vanché straightened his jacket awkwardly before clearing his throat. “Well, Miss Etta here is taking the female lead role, as we previously discussed.”As they discussed? My brows furrowed. I mouthed the words under my breath, trying to wrap my head around it. They discussed this?“You knew about this?” Aiden asked, turning to Lena, his voice laced with confusion. He walked slowly toward her, his expression unreadable. There was something soft about the way he looked at her. But also distant. And at that moment, I knew it.He didn’t know. He had no idea Lena had pulled this string behind his back.So why is he still with her? Even with his lost memories, why stay mar

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 265

Marietta's POV The night felt endless as I rummaged through my closet, trying to find the perfect outfit for clubbing. After tossing half my wardrobe on the bed, I finally settled on a silvery mini dress that barely reached my mid-thigh—bold and daring.I smiled faintly at my reflection, a little sheepish.“Red lipstick doesn’t seem like such a bad idea,” I murmured, dragging it across my lips in one slow stroke. I curled my hair and added a few sprays of temporary blonde, watching the strands transform under the mirror’s glare. The version of me staring back wasn’t the broken woman I used to be. Not tonight.Bella was married.Michael was rotting behind bars.My daughter, Valerie...dead, and gone. And Clara had returned to her mother. All I had left was my job and myself."Having a little fun won't kill me," I whispered with a smirk.Clara’s words echoed in my mind: Stop caring about what the world thinks. And tonight, I finally listened. She’s got my back—and she promised to keep

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 264

Marietta’s POVMichael finally signed the divorce papers. For a moment, I felt relief. Like I could breathe again. Like I was finally done with Michael Whitmore—and the storm that came with him.But oddly, I wasn’t happy.“I’ll be leaving now,” Clara’s voice came from behind me, soft but certain. I quickly turned off my phone, caught off guard.I blinked rapidly, trying to swallow the tears that had been threatening to spill even before she walked in. But it was too late. She saw them.“You’re… leaving?” I asked, my voice cracking into a whisper.Since Bella’s wedding, she has been distant. I understood. She had a new life now, a husband to care for. I had once been like that—pouring all of myself into Michael. My time. My love. My everything. And yet, he still chose Katty over me.That chapter was closed now, or at least, I wanted it to be. I wasn’t planning to revisit the pain.“Yes,” Clara nodded, her smile fragile as she stepped closer. “My mother’s ill again. She needs me.”

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 263

Marietta’s POV“Aiden,” I grabbed his shirt tighter, my breath fanning his bare neck.“I love it when you call my name,” He smirked before letting go of me.I could swear I was already getting wet beneath. I could feel my natural lubricant beneath me. I didn’t want him to stop, but I don’t want to continue either. “I’m sorry,” he said, panting heavily.I could tell he had to control himself from taking me right now. I could see that through his heavy breath and his red ears.“The maids will attend to you,” he said, taking a few steps back. “But Aiden…” I cleared my throat as he turned towards me. “What? Do you want to tell me something, Pookie?” “No,” I waved my hand and looked away from him. I don’t know if it’s just me but he looks damn hot, that I just couldn’t resist him whenever he’s close.Just then, a knock landed on the door, interrupting my thoughts.“Who is it?” I inquired, wrapping my clothes around me quickly. The master asked us to attend to you,” the maids chorused

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 262

Marietta's POV My heart leapt with joy, but also fear. Fear of uncertainty. But Aiden has given me his all. He had made me know that all I had to do was to take his hand. I don't need to be scared. He has proven to me in a few ways that he was different from Michael. Obviously, by age, Michael was older. But by thinking and in knowledge, why do I find him so intelligent that Michael? I inhaled deeply as I watched him bring out a diamond ring. With the way the diamond ring had glistered in the dark, accompanied by the moon's light, I could tell it was very expensive. “My mother gave it to me,” Aiden narrated, his eyes never leaving the hospital ward where his mother was lying. “Your mother?” “Yes. She made me know that when I'm ready. And when I meet the woman of my dreams. The one my heart beats for. Then I can let her have it,” he added.Still raising the ring for me to have a clear view, he waited patiently. “If you want to think about it, it's fine. You have all the time
