Chapter 10:

Alpha Selene.

After a nerve-wracking encounter with my uncle Xander, who caught me sneaking out of Damon's cell, he surprised me by just asking about the origin of the twins and why I couldn't choose one when given the chance by the elders.

Feeling a mix of emotions, I retreated to my room in the castle, seeking solace in the one thing that always calmed me down: my hidden golden box. Carefully unwrapping a small piece of plastic, I discovered two red pills inside. Overwhelmed by the pressure of choosing one mate over the other, I decided to ingest them.

Within seconds of swallowing the pills, my vision became hazy and I collapsed onto my king-sized bed, large enough to accommodate both me and my mates.

Why couldn't I have both??? "Stupid ancient rules," I murmured as I lay there, my mind filled with images of Damon, who had been at the forefront of my thoughts since our recent encounter in his cell.

Suddenly, he appeared before me, shirtless and dripping wet, as if he had just stepp
