Prologue:

The Narrator;

Not so long ago in Bucharest, Romania...

"Give us one big push." The midwife said in a high-pitched voice while she damped a wet white cloth on Bella's forehead.

Bella lay on the hospital bed, her body wrenching and groaning in pain as she went through the labor of delivering her twin boys.

Yes, Bella was pregnant with twin Alpha heirs to the midnight pack and Jacob couldn't be more thrilled than she was as he stood by her side, holding on to her left leg.

"Yes honey, push I can see the baby's head." Jacob encouraged his beautiful mate

"Yes lady Bella, your first baby is crowning." The doctor said with a bright crimson smile.

"I can't do it, it hurts so much." she whimpered as warm tears trickled down her face.

"Yes, you can do it." Her mate was by her side, trying his best to comfort her, but the agony she was enduring was beyond his power to soothe her.

"One final push." The doctor peeked at Bella and this time around, the doctor had a face mask covering her face.

"Okay, I can do it." Bella nodded her head, braving herself, and pushed with all her might.

"Argh," Bella screamed painfully and Jacob screamed with her, an antagonizing look on his face as he frowned upon whatever he was witnessing.

Oh, dear moon goddess, Bella cringed her eyes shut while praying for an easy delivery as she pushed her first child out...

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Bella gave birth to her first son.

"Congratulations Luna. here is your first bouncing baby boy." The doctor held up the baby from his feet… the baby was a sturdy little thing, with a mop of curly black hair, and he had a healthy set of lungs on him as his wails echoed in the room.

"He is beautiful." Jacob leaned in and repeatedly kissed his mate's sweaty forehead while he stroked her hair backward.

"Yes, he is." Bella let out a sigh of relief, but she knew that she still had to give birth to the second twin, and there could be a lot that could go wrong yet.

"Okay, Luna the next baby is crowning. Get ready to push again." The doctor said.

The hospital staff prepared frantically for the next delivery, as the anxiety levels skyrocketed.

Bella had always been a worrier, and the thought of something happening to her or her children during the birth filled her with dread.

"Push now Luna." The doctor ordered and she did as asked…Bella could feel her core's fresh tear as her second son was being born.

"It's another healthy baby boy." The doctor declared merrily.

"Thank you for making a Daddy, my love." A tear trickled down Jacob's cheek while he repeatedly kissed her in appreciation.

"You are welcome, my love." she gasped with a splitting grin. All the pain she felt a few seconds ago, disappeared from her body... This was definitely the happily ever after she wanted.

"These are some strong pups congratulations Alpha." the doctor walked over to Jacob and patted him on the shoulder.

Suddenly the mighty Oracle stormed into the room, dressed in a blood-red cloak covering her head and toes. The mood instantly became gloomy. She looked at the babies, her face dark, and Bella knew instinctively knew that something was wrong.

"Everyone, leave. I want to speak to the Alpha and Luna in private," she said with a serious face...Everyone in the room dropped what they were doing and hurriedly left excusing the once joyous couple.

"What's the matter Oracle?" Bella asked, her voice quivering.

"The matter is this, lady Bella," the Oracle said, her voice grave and deep. "Your sons are bound by a fate that is beyond your control. One will bring great good into the world, but the other will bring untold destruction. Their paths will be intertwined, and their destinies set. What they will do with their powers is up to them, but I cannot say for certain what their choices will be."

Bella looked at her babies with wide eyes, trying to see if there was any indication of the fate that the Oracle had spoken of. They looked so innocent and pure, and it was hard for her to imagine that one of them could bring about chaos and devastation.

Bella darted at Jacob's face, and he did not look bothered by what the Oracle said.

But Bella knew, however, that she could not ignore the Oracle's words. She was a woman of mystic creatures, the ones you only read about in fiction books, but she also knew that there were forces in the universe that were beyond the realm of reason and logic.

"It's okay kitten, whatever their fate is, I'm sure they will overcome it. My boys are strong little pups who will rule over the midnight pack with grace and wisdom." Alpha Jacob walked to Bella and kissed her forehead one last time and then walked back to his new twin pups, he smiled while he reached out for their cute little fingers.

Bella looked at her two sons, her heart filled with both joy and trepidation because she knew that their lives would be filled with challenges, but vowed to do everything in her power to guide them toward the path of good.

If the moon goddess blessed her with long life.

Suddenly both her twin's eyes glowed a crystal blue light, something like she had never seen before. She gasped as anxiety crept in.

"Look at this kitten, their eyes glow a color almost like yours," Jacob said with excitement.

"I can see," Bella nodded nervously as her heart thumped wildly with mixed emotions.

"Hey boys, I'm your daddy," Jacob said in a low voice, his face beaming proudly. The babies suddenly smiled at their Papa. "Look, kitten, they smiled at me." Jacob grinned so hard, Bella wondered if his cheeks were not hurting.

"What shall we name them, love?" Bella asked to get her mind off the Oracle's prophecy.

"The first shall be called Sebastian and the second Damon Shepherd, both Alpha heirs," Jacob responded with a new sense of hope for his pack.

Bella then decided to relax her stern posture and smile too. Jacob was right, the Oracle's words shouldn't ruin this moment.

Never did Bella ever think in a million years she would meet a man who would accept her for her and love her unconditionally.

Now as Bella looked at her perfect family, she wouldn't be happier...or should she be?
