Chapter 28.:

Ariana slept through the entire day. After nearly three weeks, she finally rested her head on a fluffy pillow, cuddled by the warm blanket, curled on a soft bed. The best sleep she had over the past weeks.

“Sweetheart.” The gentle voice of her mother woke her up. Two days ago, they crossed the mountains. The last thing Ariana remembered was the heartrending wolf’s cry followed by a raging Lycan howling. Her thoughts went to the only two men she kept in her thoughts. One of them she loved the most and the other one she feared the most.

Ariana didn’t have to guess twice to whom the howling belonged. The only Lycan in the entire country was no one else but the father of her unborn child. But the wolf’s cry was the sound which echoed in her soul. The cries which she hoped for did not belong to her father.

“Did he come back?” Ariana asked her mother with high hopes. She didn’t even properly open her eyes, but cared so much to see her father. She didn’t care about the food, about the water
