Orana’s point of view

The air around me still felt too tight, too charged, like every glance carried weight I didn’t want to hold anymore. Marissa and Callahan could have their lovers' quarrel away from me.

I stepped back, pulling out my phone from my purse.

My fingers curled around my phone before I could second-guess it, already stepping away from the crowd.

I dialed Vaughn’s number, and he picked up on the first ring.

“Hey,” his voice was low.

“I’m leaving,” I said quietly, keeping my voice

  • His Rejected Wife: The Billionaire’s Regret   Chapter 26

Vaughn’s Point of ViewI shouldn’t have cared. But the moment the words left his mouth, something in me snapped.I didn’t look at her. I couldn’t after what I just found out.Because the second I did, I knew I’d see everything. His hands on her, his mouth tasting her skin, watching her break apart in ways I might never.I turned on my heel, ready to get out of there, but Orana was already on my heels.“Vaughn—” she started when she grabbed my hand. My tainted hands. “Please,” she whispered.I shook my head once. Cutting her off before she could finish.“You don’t need to explain anything to me,” I said, my voice cold. “Who you’re sleeping with isn’t my concern.”The words tasted bitter because it was my fucking concern. I wished it were me.“I’m your boss,” I added, glancing at her before looking away again. “We should focus on this meeting. I need to fly out.”I didn’t wait for her response; I walked into the elevator and jabbed the button so hard.“Vaughn,” she whispered, her voice

  • His Rejected Wife: The Billionaire’s Regret   Chapter 25

Orana’s Point of ViewI stood in front of the mirror longer than I should have, fingers brushing lightly over my neck before I dropped my hand as if it burned. My throat tightened, something heavy pressing against my chest.I let him in. I fucking let him in, and he left me for her.I pulled on a top that covered the hickeys on my neck to hide them. He left reminders once again, and this time it really hurt.A sharp breath slipped out, but I swallowed it down, blinking away the sting in my eyes. There was no time for that. Not now. Not when everything was already tangled enough.I just needed to get through the meeting, and then we could move on. Because I twisted my ankle, I decided I would settle for sneakers.A knock sounded at the door, and my heart skipped once before I forced myself to move and open it.And Vaughn stood there with a tray of food.“I had to bring you breakfast.” His voice was quieter than usual.I stepped aside without thinking. “You didn’t have to.”“I know.” He

Orana’s Point of View“What are you doing here?” I snapped, pushing myself up from the bed, turning on the lights, and there he was.My heart was already racing. The air in the room shifted the moment he stepped closer.Callahan didn’t answer right away. His gaze dragged over me, dark and sharp, something angry sitting just beneath the surface.“How dare you let him touch you?”My eyebrows pulled together. “Excuse me?”I stepped back, but he closed the distance so fast that I couldn't even blink.“Don’t,” I warned, lifting my hand to stop him.His fingers brushed my arm, then my waist. He had every right to touch me.I pushed him back. “Don’t touch me.”But his grip tightened, pulling me into him before I could move again, almost knocking the air out of my lungs.“Callahan!”His hand slid up my back, holding me there. My pulse spiked, my hands pressing against him to push him back, but he didn’t let go of me.“You let him touch you, let him see all this. Let him kiss what’s mine.” He

Orana’s Point of ViewMy arms rested on my knees as I watched people enjoy swimming, while I couldn’t even dip my feet in it.London felt too far, and Liorah’s absence lingered whenever I was alone. And the guys disappearing to drink only made it louder. I exhaled slowly, trying to ignore the way everything felt off since he found out we have a daughter.I saw the look in his eyes when I reminded him of what he had said. There was a flicker of regret, and he looked pained when he saw the picture of Liorah, but he had made his choice. He wanted a family with Marissa. He should do that.I sighed heavily, pressed my lips together when I felt a crawl over my skin. That little feeling you feel when someone is watching you.The hairs along my arms lifted before I even looked up.My gaze snapped toward the exit, and I caught a glimpse of him.Vaughn?Already turning away, his shoulders hunched like he was carrying the weight of the world.“Wait—”The word barely made it past my lips before h

Vaughn’s Point of ViewI shouldn’t have snapped. But the moment Carla’s hand slid up my arm, something in me recoiled before I could stop it. My body went rigid, jaw tightening as I stepped back as if her touch burned.“Don’t,” I said sharply. She smiled as if she’d been waiting for that reaction.“You used to like it when I touched you,” she murmured, tilting her head, her fingers brushing my sleeve again, deliberate this time, dragging just enough to make a point. My patience snapped.“I said don’t touch me,” I bit out, louder than I intended. Her smile widened. “Still chasing after someone who won’t ever want you?”I dragged my attention back to her, something cold settling into my chest. “Mind your fucking business.”She laughed softly, crossing her arms like this was all entertainment to her. “Or you could stop pretending and come back to me.”“There’s nothing to come back to.”Her expression flickered, but only for a second. “We can make it work.”“No.” The word came out final.

  • His Rejected Wife: The Billionaire’s Regret   Chapter 21

Orana’s Point of ViewHe promised that he would be here.Vaughn was never late.My gaze flicked to the door and then to the clock, and then back to the chair again.Minutes passed, then an hour.I inhaled slowly, reaching for my phone under the table. My thumb hovered for half a second, hesitating to call him. I knew I could handle this, but somehow I still wanted him here. Was I going crazy cause my boss wasn’t here or something else?I pressed the call button, and it rang. No answer.I called again, and no answer again. A small crease formed between my brows. I ended the call and tried again, my leg bouncing faintly under the table. He didn’t pick, but once everyone was looking at the project, I moved from the table to the corner and called him again. This time, he picked up.“What?”I straightened. “You’re late.”Silence stretched between him and me.“Vaughn,” his name was like a plea on my lips.“Start without me.”My grip on the phone tightened. “That’s not like you. What’s going
