After about 15 min,the door was knocked.The Babu family is among those poor families in Lusaka village that doesnt even have a door bell.Listening to the knock outside,Mr Babu went to open the door.

The Ouma family were right in his sight.You are all welcome to our humble home please first get in.he said to them in a polite tone. 

Mr.Ouma said thank you and motioned others to enter into the house.Although the house was small with nothing expensive in it,it was clean and tidy.This gave the Ouma family a good impression of these inlaws to be.

You are all welcome to our home.Please sit down.Said mrs Babu with a smile said.They smiled back to them and sat down on old fashioned sofas.

Mrs.Babu left to bring tea for the visitors while mr.Babu gave them company.

Among the Ouma family members was a boy who just turned 18 this year.His name Mozey Ouma.Two weeks back he was shown a picture of a shabby girl.They told him that he was to get engaged to her.Except for her honey beautiful eyes,there was nothing that captured his heart.

So he rejected the girl saying his not ready for any comittment and the likes.lf he wasnt threatened by his mother that he will not go abroad to further his studies if he doesnt get engaged to her,he wouldn't  have considered engaging himself to this young girl at no cost.

But going abroad was his dream he cant just give it up.Since its just engagement not marriage now why not except it and go abroad.His major is for 5-6yrs who knows what will happen in the future.May be he will come back when she already hooked up with someone. He sighed as he observed the house with disdain on his face. 

Mrs Babu brought tea with tossed bread and gave them.She went to bring her daughter.

Alia was sitting on her bed in a daze.She didnt know whether its good idea to accept this engagement but since her parents decided for her she will just bide with it.For her, her parents were never wrong in any decision they come up with. 

 Baby lets go they have arrived.said mrs Babu.Alia wasnt happy nor sad she just followed her without saying anything.They went in the living room and she knelt down to greet the visitors.(kneeling down while greeting the elders is a traditional moral in uganda especially in Buganda kingdom.lts a sign of respect.)

Her eyes then met with the only boy that was with them.She just knew that it must be him her husband to be.They looked at each other and both sighed inwardly.

Alia's mind;Hmmff cant he take his eyes off me.He isnt even more handsome than Isaac our school headprefect.

Mozey's mind; Oh my God what! she is too fat.How much does she eat? what am l going to get engaged to?

Oh Alia my dear come sit next to me.Said mrs.Ouma.Alia went and sat where she has been told to.

Mrs Ouma; Alia do you know the reason why we are here? 

Alia; Yes aunt my parents told me.

Mrs Ouma; Did you agree to engaged to my Mozey here?

Alia ;Yes aunt.

Mrs Ouma; Very well l will reward you.

She got her bag and got a small box and handed it to Alia.Alia was like aunt this....

Mrs Ouma smiled and said this a gift l gave to you.l cant visit my would be daughter in law empty handed.

Alia smiled and said thank you aunt.

Well come my dear.

Mr Babu: Lets have dinner first we will talk afterward.

Mrs Babu; l will serve it right away.

She stood up and Alia followed behind.lt's always like that they do everything together since her elder sister left for work in the citym.Mother and daughter.
