2. Eliminate the king

Are you trying to say that you want to eliminate the king?" Eve asked in a low voice. Even though she has torture a lot of people, killing the king will be a very difficult task and the fact that she hasn't even killed anyone before.

"You heard me right Eve. He embarrassed me today right in front of everyone, and this is not the first time of him doing that. I'm the one who made him what he is today, and this is what I get." Mr Travis said, gritting his teeth in anger.

"I understand uncle, but what if this backfires. I mean, killing the king is not an easy thing to do." Eve said, getting a bit worried.

"That's why I want you to be the one to do it." Mr Travis suddenly said with an while smile.

Huh? But this is not easy. How can I just go to the castle and kill the king. Eve said with a worried face.

"I never said you will just go and kill him like that. I have a plan. I will make you become one of the king's maid, you just have to find a way to poison the king." Mr Travis said, standing up from his seat.

"But still, this is not an easy thing to do. What if after poisoning him, all the king's maid gets killed?" Eve asked, she was about saying another thing, before her uncle caught her off.

"Eve! I never raised you to be a scaredy cat or to be negative about things." Her uncle retorted.  "You're a strong and fearless woman, this should not be something you should fright over." He continued.

"I'm sorry uncle." Eve said.

Moving to where she's standing, he held her face with his palms and said. "After this mission, I will give you what you've always wanted. I will tell you the person turned you into an ophan." He said with a smirk

Ever since she was little, her uncle has been training her, telling her that one day he will tell her the person who killed her parent.

Removing his hand from her face, he walked around her slowly and whispered softly. "You've always wanted to know who killed your parent and take revenge. right? I mean all those years of training was just to get revenge. Isn't it?

"Do this and you can finally be free."

"Yes uncle." She replied looking up to him, this is what she has always wanted, to find out about the one who killed her parent and take revenge.

"Get prepared, you'll start working there anytime from now." Her uncle said leaving her alone in the room. Looking at the closed door, she sighed.

The next morning, Mr Travis told Eve he was going to take her to a man who will help her in becoming the king's maid. He didn't want to take her to the castle himself, to avoid suspicion.

Are you sure that's what you want? "I mean becoming one of the king's maid is not easy. It takes a lot of knowledge and experience." A man called Butch said to Mr Travis. Butch is a guy who sells maids to the rich, especially to the royal family. A lot of girls has been sold into slaves by him. Even the poor comes to sell their daughter, or make their daughter work as maids through him.

"I know it's not easy, but through you, it is. Please just make it work, she has to become one of the king's maid. And if you're talking about experience, I promise you, she's a fast learner." Mr Travis said turning to Eve.

Eve has been looking at them since they started talking, she hasn't even make a small movement. She just sat there listening to what her uncle was saying to the man. "Well, she's a pretty one. Why not sell her as a slave instead." The man said, standing up to move closer to Eve.

"If you dare touch me, I will make sure you don't leave here with your complete fingers." Eve said scornfully, noticing the man was coming towards her.

"I see, she's a strong one." The man said, feeling scared a little, he went back to his seat to sit down after hearing what Eve said.

"She's only playing with you, she's not a slave to anyone, just a maid to the king. Understood?" Mr Travis said smiling at the man. So when will you leave for the castle.

"Yes. we can leave for the castle tomorrow." The man replied. "Hmm, how will you go about the headmaid?" Mr Travis asked.

"You don't have to worry. My balance is the most important one, leave the rest to me." Butch said smiling.

Mr Travis and Eve finally left the man's place for their house. At home.

You'll be going to the castle tomorrow. Mr Travis said. "You don't have to be scared, just find a way to put this poison in his food, it's not a poison that kills faster. I don't think I have to explain how to use it or how to do yourself after poisoning him. You're more smarter than that Eve." He continued.

I understand uncle, I will do everything you've asked of me. Eve replied. "Hmm, I put my trust in you. Don't let me down." He said.

Nodding her head slightly, she answered. "I will never let you down uncle."

How will you go about the head maid? Eve suddenly remembered and asked.

"Don't worry about that, that's a very light matter. Just focus on what you're doing." The man replied.

"This is to a new successful mission." He said pouring wine into two glasses.

The next morning, Eve and her uncle went to Butch who will take her to the palace.

"How are you doing Butch?" Mr Travis said as he saw Butch.

"I'm doing just well, Mr Travis." Butch replied. "Don't tell me, this is the clothes you're wearing to the castle?" Butch asked seeing Eve.

Seeing that the girl would not reply him, he decided to leave her. "Well, you can always change in the castle." He said smiling. "I still love my fingers." He continued, whispering.

"Just make sure you don't talk to her. I guess I will see you later then."Mr Travis said to the man. He stood there and watched the carriage move till he couldn't see it anymore.

Eve didn't say a word in the carriage, she could feel that the man wanted to talk to her, she could see the fear in his eyes especially when she brought out her sharpened small knife which was hidden beside her boots. She also did it intentionally to see the man's facial expression which she was clearly enjoying.

"She's so weird, I wonder why Mr Travis insisted on making someone like her to be one of the king's maid." He thought.
