HSC: Chapter 7

I woke up with the sun shining brightly on my face. I smiled and got up. I stretched my arm, oh! I slept well? Even though I was in a different room and even though my night wasn't good.

Oh, I remember I transferred my sleeping place here at the foot of the bed. I might get stepped on if king Travis passes by, who knows. I looked at the bed to check if my husband was still there.

Oh, He's still there and sleeping soundly. I checked the time, and it was already seven in the morning. Why hasn't he woken up to prepare for work? He should already be in the office by eight.

I want to wake him up, but he might get angry again, sigh. Let it be, maybe he's tired and sleepy, and that's why he hasn't woken up yet. I got up and went straight to the bathroom to wash up.

While brushing my teeth, something suddenly came to my mind. I know that the maids are preparing the breakfast at this time, and I want to help them to prepare the breakfast. Yes, that's right! I quickly prepared myself and left Travis's room.

When I went out, it was very quiet. It seems like Tito Troy and even Trish are still asleep.

When I went down, I went straight to the kitchen. I caught Nanny Linda preparing breakfast.

“Good morning!” I greeted them happily. They all turned to look at me.

    “Good morning ma'am,”

    “Good morning, Mam.”

“Oh, Eunice you woke up early. We're just preparing breakfast." I smiled at Nanny Linda as I approached them.

“It's okay, Nanny Linda. I want to help you prepare the breakfast.”

"Oh no, ma'am, it's okay. We can handle it." One of the maid said.

“It's okay, Issa. I'm used to it. Even at home, I help prepare breakfast or lunch. I'm used to housework, don't worry.”

“Wow, Sir Travis is lucky to have you Mam, because you're beautiful, kind, and skilled at housework," Issa said with a smile. I felt shy by what she said. Oh Issa, if you only knew our setup with Travis.

“It seems like you want to cook for your husband. Come here, Eunice." I quickly followed Nanny Linda. Yes, I want to cook breakfast for Travis. As his wife, I'll take care of him, even with this kind of setup.

    “Ah, Nanny Linda?"

      “Hmmm?”

“Isn't Travis waking up early? Especially when he has work in the office?”

“Yes, he wakes up at six to jog for a bit, then he just has coffee when he comes back, then goes upstairs to freshen up, then goes to the office. That's always his morning routine, even when his parents are here. But now, I'm wondering, he should have left the house by now. Is he still sleeping?" Nanny Linda asked.

“Yes, Nanny Linda, I didn't wake him up because he might get angry. I'm also wondering why he's still sleeping.”

Hmm. Maybe he's tired?” Nanny Linda looked at me with a meaningful gaze. There was even a mischievous smile that flashed across her lips,

“Maybe he got tired last night.” Nanny Linda repeated. Oh, if you only knew what happened last night. He was tired from being on his laptop and being grumpy to me last night. We could never do what you're thinking, Nanny Linda.

“Nanny Linda, I know what's running through your mind. Travis  stayed up late last night because he was still in front of his laptop before I went to sleep. I think he finished in the early morning hours." Nanny Linda smiled and shook her head.

“Well, you take care of the omelette. That's what your husband wants for breakfast, along with bacon, bread, and black coffee. We'll we take care of the other breakfast dishes, and you just focus on your husband's meal.” I nodded my head. I didn't know that Travis wanted an omelette for breakfast. But then again, when I come over to their place, it's usually already lunchtime. I never catch them eating breakfast, and if I do, Travis is already gone.

I started to prepare my husband's breakfast. I hope he likes it, even just a little.

After putting the omelette and bacon on a plate, I grabbed a mug and filled it with coffee. I'll pour hot water over it later to make sure it's still hot when he drinks it.

    “Done!” I said happily.

“Are you finished, dear? Let's put our dishes on the table. Sir Troy will be down soon,” Nanny Linda said.

“Okay, Nanny Linda.” I lifted the two plates I prepared. I put a lot of bacon and omelette because I feel like eating some, too.

While arranging the table, Mommy Kim and Trish entered. They were all surprised to see me serving breakfast. I smiled sweetly and greeted them.

“Good morning, Mommy, Daddy. Good morning, Trish.”

“Oh my gosh, dear, you woke up early and..." Mommy Kim looked at the bacon I was arranging, “You cooked?” I nodded.

“Yes, Mommy. I woke up early, so I helped Nanny Linda." Daddy Troy sat down. He looked at the omelette I made then he looked at me and smiled a little.

“Do you know what your husband's favorite breakfast is, sweetheart? It looks like you cooked it, but wait, is Travis still here?” he asked.

“Oh, yes, Daddy. When I left the room, he was still sleeping," I replied.

Daddy Troy nodded, “That boy won't make it to the office. He should have left earlier.”

“Oh, that's why Eunice dear cooked, because her husband is here," Mommy Kim said.

I smiled at Mommy and Daddy as I took off my apron, which I didn't realize I was still wearing. I noticed that Trish was looking at me with a mischievous grin. She shook her head while getting some bread.

“Excuse me po mommy, daddy. I'll just make Travis' coffee, I haven't put hot water in it yet, it might get cold quickly.”

“Oh, okay dear, you're so sweet. Our child is so lucky to have you. It's just right, he'll be coming down soon.” Mommy Kim said with a smile.

“Uhmm, How about you mommy, do you want coffee too?”

“Oh sure, dear, I want coffee now,” I looked at Daddy Troy who was just smiling at us.

    “Uhm, How about you, daddy?”

“Yes, please.” I nodded with a smile and left them for a moment.

Good thing I haven't put hot water in Travis' coffee yet. So now, I made Mommy Kim and Daddy Troy's coffee at the same time.

I took a tray and placed the three cups of coffee I made carefully. I lifted it and walked out of the kitchen.

When I came out, they were all looking in one direction. I followed their gaze and my eyes widened. Oh no, he's awake! And... he's eating!

I quickly walked, still panicking because Travis was already eating! They all turned to look at me. I smiled gently. I put the coffee on the side of mommy and daddy, and took one to give to Travis.

“Here, Nanny Linda said you wanted black coffee. I made it for you.” I was nervous as I put the coffee on the side of his plate. He looked at me and smiled. I was stunned because this was the first time he smiled at me like this.

“Thanks, baby.” I blushed because of what he said. Geez! What's wrong? Am I getting all giddy? Is Travis sick?

“Sit down and eat.” He said softly. I nodded and was about to sit beside Trish when he held my hand.

“Where are you going?” His brows furrowed.

“Ah, I'm going to sit beside Trish?” I hesitantly said. I stood up straight when he got up. I followed his gaze. He moved the chair in front of me.

“From now on, you'll sit here beside me, okay? Sit down.” Okay? Why is he so kind? And sweet? I sat down, feeling shy as everyone watched us. Gosh. Travis went back to sitting and eating.

I smiled when the two omelets were gone from his plate. wow! Is omelet really his favorite?

“Hmm, this omelet Nanny Linda  made is so delicious. What did she put in it? This is more delicious than the first ones she made.” My smile widened because he liked the omelet I made.
