5- Nut Powder

Alessandra Benjamin:

With squared shoulder, chin up, I went to sit across the big dining table in the living room. Romeo had still not reached there and everyone was waiting for him to join them for the meal.

I casually looked around until my eyes fell on Emma. She nodded her head slightly without anyone noticing.

I just blinked my eyes once to acknowledge. It was a signal that everything was well planned for now. Usually, Omegas used to serve us, and then they used to have their meals in peace after cleaning up. But recently I changed that.

I made sure that they eat their meal before us and then they can serve us with a full tummy. Not only Omegas but other pack members liked the idea.

They all were happy that their Luna was bringing equality among pack members.

We all kept waiting for Romeo and Juliet to arrive for the lunch.

What was taking them so long? Gosh!

Were they humping each other!

I wanted to laugh at this absurd notion.

Just then the doors opened and Romeo entered the dining room with the Drama Juliet tailing behind him. Everyone stood up with respect.

He came and sat beside me. The drama queen sat on the floor as expected.

Gosh! Why did I never notice that she had always been like that? I wish I could bury her in the floor that very minute. But no. I was not there to do that.

I would NOT repeat those mistakes.

Nopes!

“In our pack. Omegas were supposed to sit on the floor.” She tried to paste an innocent smile on her face. Last time I did not pay any heed and kept eating my lunch. As a result, she gained some bonus points from my pack.

“Please stand up.” I at once stood up and went near her, “No one from my pack deserves to sit on the floor. Emma!” Emma quickly came to me, “please make her sit on the chair beside me. She is our guest.”

The drama queen was taken aback a little.

Once seated, she observed the dishes, and when she saw what I was eating her eyes got glued to my bowl. My meal was usually different from the rest of the members.

Others preferred to eat white flour-made items with meat. But instead of eating all the crap, I used to fill up my tummy with pack house grown vegetables. Paired with yogurt, or cheese or meat.

White flour was a strict no for me. At least more than half of my plate used to be filled up with greens.

Today I also put some chickpeas in my salad.

“You are a Luna so this fancy dish is for you?” she could not hide the smirk on her face. With the sweetest smile, I passed my bowl to her.

“We all are equal here, dear Jackie… sorry … what was that?” I started tapping my finger on my forehead, “Jackass?” I was whispering to myself but I was sure that I could be heard.

“It’s Juliet.” She said between her clenched teeth.

“Yeah. Juliet. Please help yourself.”

I had made her furious. And that was the plan. In her anger, she took out a big serving of chickpea salad from the bowl and started eating it.

Mission one was accomplished. Ha-ha.

“Romeo!” I turned to my husband with affection, “Will you sleep with me?” It was a double meaning question and he was not expecting it.

His pack members stopped eating to check his response. Well, that was the plan. His pack members should know of their Alpha’s intentions.

“Of course, honey. Of course.” He stuttered while trying to gulp down his food. Just then I heard a clanking sound beside me.

The drama queen was panting in panic.

“Juliet! Honey!” Romeo was at once on his feet. Though I promised myself to remain unfazed by their bonding but this hurt me like anything.

“All… Allergic!” The word escaped her mouth with great difficulty. I placed my hand on her arm.

“Are you allergic to something? Oh my God! What was it? The chickpeas? Lettuce? Nut powder?...”

The moment she nodded her head, Romeo picked her up in his arms and walked away. The way Beta Russel followed him showed that he had mind linked him to bring the physician.

I sat there quietly without realizing everyone had stopped eating. They did feel the disrespect their Luna was facing.

Right now I had accomplished the mission.

I had gained sympathy from my pack.

Drama Juliet was allergic to nuts and I knew she would be more interested in whatever I was eating. Last time I had passed on my salad with seeds and homemade sauce.

But today I especially asked Emma to add nut powder to it.

Not everybody gets the chance to be reborn! I chuckled inwardly.

Nodding my head, I took my leave. Though I did feel the familiar pain again. Romeo had left me all alone.

But this time I was not born to give up. I was given the second chance to fight. I needed to fight and claimed what was rightfully mine.

Once I would conceive Amerigo. I would either run away after making sure that my pack was in safe hands or I will kick out Drama Juliet away from my pack. Away from my life.

And for that, I was ready to give up my husband.

Romeo and Juliet could go and f*ck themselves for all I care.
