5-Marcella as Luna

Marcella’s POV

“That was very mature of you,” my mom tells me as we watch Evander and his chosen walk away.

“Yes, we are all so impressed,” I don’t know the woman speaking, but she hates me and looks like Evander’s chosen, so I'm calling her the mother.

“Lucy,” Luna Kesly starts sternly. “I know you were the one pushing this chosen bull shit. But Evander has his mate. Thankfully, before he marked Bridget. I suggest you try to keep your daughter from the pain you feel and encourage her to move on.”

Lucy’s mate looks at her with a nod.

“Luna, this appears to be a discussion we are not needed for, so point us in the direction of our house and we will let you all discuss this among the ranked members,” Mom tells them.

“You are staying right here, in the packhouse, on the Gamma floor, no fighting about it,” Alpha Gabe says sternly.

Fran- That is Alpha Tone. Now that we are mated to an Alpha, do you get why it meant nothing to you?

Me- So, you knew our mate was an Alpha?

Fran- Yeah, because I’m not an idiot.

“Alpha, we are not the Gamma family,” My father states humbly.

“Excuse me, but you are. Your mate is the rightful Gamma of this pack, your son will follow her,” Alpha Gabe states.

I look at Wesley, who is wide eyed.

“Why not my daughter?” Dad asks.

“Because I am the fated Luna of this pack,” I tell dad.

“Well, the future Alpha doesn’t seem too keen on that idea,” Dad huffs.

“I’m not living in a house with them,” The Lucy woman starts. “It’s bad enough I have to put up with Abby and being ignored by the man who marked me, but I won’t live here.”

“Bye,” Luna Kesly says with a wave. “Your children are grown, there is no reason to stay. Daniel should reject you and you should move out. Take your daughter with you.”

The Lucy woman huffs and looks like she about to say something, when another woman comes outside.

“I’m sorry, Daniel, Mark is calling there is a problem at the school,” She hands a phone to the Beta.

“What is happening?” Lucy asks.

“Thank you, son, I’m on the way,” Daniel hangs up and hands the phone to the other woman. “Alpha, Mark had to break up a fight between two girls who both claim to be mated to one boy. The boy has been knocked out by one to the girls' boyfriends.”

“Let’s go,” Alpha Gabe rolls his eyes.

“You and me too,” Luna looks at me. “Emotional fights require a Luna. Abby, this is Evander’s fated mate and her family. I told you about them yesterday. Would you mind taking them to their floor. And let Evander know he needs to join us quickly?”

“I already mind-linked him, he is on the way,” Alpha Gabe says, opening the car door for his mate and I.

“I’m here,” Evander gets into the car next to me. “Can I hold your hand?”

“You like the sparks too?” I smile at him, holding his hand.

“It’s a different feeling and I like it, yeah,” he gives me a tight smile. “We should talk when we get back.”

“I agree,” I tell him.

“Marcella, you are a senior, correct?” Alpha Gabe asks.

“Yes, sir and Wesley is a sophomore,” I answer.

“I’m in college,” Evander tells me. “Second year, but I take summer classes and have a few credits from high school, so I should be done in a year.”

“That is when you two will take over,” Luna Kesly tells us.

I look over at Evander, who looks sad. He is staying with me against his free will. I actually hate that but at the same time, he’s mine and I’m not giving him up just because she seems hurt.

Fran- Like I have always told you. We will have our mate, come hell or high water.

“Evander, who is the warrior Bridget rejected? I don’t recall any chosen mates among my warriors,” Alpha Gabe asks.

“It’s because they are second chance mates, not chosen. Havel Kader,” Evander answers.

“Havel was mated to Bridget?” Daniel turns in his seat. “He is an amazing warrior.”

“Glorianna is a lucky wolf,” Alpha Gabe looks confused. “I’m glad they found each other.”

“Daniel, you really need to reject Lucy already. You have a son with Abby, she should wear your mark,” Luna Kesly tells him. “Bridget and Mark are grown now, no reason to delay anymore.”

“It would give Lucy a chance to find another pack for her and Bridget,” Alpha Gabe adds.

“You are going to kick them out?” Evander asks suddenly. I squeeze his hand and rub his arm with my free hand. He is upset at the idea of them leaving. Him getting over Bridget is going to take time. “Thank you.”

“You're welcome,” I tell him, continuing to calm him.

“Evander, it might be best, Bridget shouldn’t have to watch you as you get closer to your mate. The pull to Marcella is going to take over more and more,” Daniel explains. “Lucy chose to stay and watch me and Abby, I don’t want Bridget to go through that.”

“Wait, I don’t understand,” I say, looking at Luna Kesly.

“Twenty-one years ago, Lucy and Daniel chose each other and marked each other. Lucy rejected your father the moment she met him. She had already given birth to Bridget and Mark was on the way. It made sense. She was fully committed to Daniel,” Luna Kesly tells me. I look to Daniel who looks a little upset. “Your dad was heartbroken for all of five minutes, because he was given a second chance mate, your mom, my best friend. Two years later, Daniel met Abby and couldn’t bring himself to reject her. So, Lucy kept the title Beta Female, raised her children in the packhouse, but Abby and Daniel live as a mated couple, just unmarked. They share a son, Victor. He is also a sophomore.”

“Oh,” I say and look at Evander. “You can’t ask Bridget to live like that. She has no children to keep her going. I can’t believe Lucy would choose that life.”

“I won’t ask Bridget to live like that,” Evander tells me, looking me in the eyes. We both squeeze each other’s hands. I hope this means he will choose me. I can make him happy, if he will give me a chance.

“We are here,” Alpha parks the car and Evander helps me out.

We walk, not letting go of each other’s hands.

The young man I assume is Mark, explains the players and we look at two she-wolves, and two teenage males.

“May I?” I ask Luna Kesly.

“I’ll step in if I need to,” she tells me.

I go to walk to the she-wolves, but Evander won't let go of my hand.

“It’s okay, I’m only going to talk to them,” I kiss his cheek and his lets my hand go.

“WHAT THE FUCK?” Mark looks at us.

“Mark, she is his fated mate,” Alpha Gabe tells him.

“Oh, I better call my sister, I told her chosen mates were stupid,” Mark shakes his head and walks away.

“Hi, I’m Marcella, I’m starting school here tomorrow, I’m Alpha Evander’s fated mate. Want to tell me what happened?” I ask the girls.

“She is trying to steal my mate,” the redhead snaps and points to the brunette.

“No, it’s my birthday, and we hazed, you freak. He is my mate,” The brunette rolls her eyes.

“How old are you?” I ask the redhead.

She looks down, “Seventeen.”

“So, you don’t know for sure who your mate is,” I say and kneel in front of her. “You know about Bridget?”

“I know Alpha Evander is choosing her,” The girl tells me through tears.

“Yeah, it was supposed to be tomorrow, imagine her pain when he and I hazed a couple of hours ago in front of her. I think you may have overreacted a little, don’t you?” I ask her as I hug her.

“Yes,” She cries on my shoulder.

“I understand. It hurts a lot, and it hurts him too. He felt something for you and now he feels something for her too. You have to let him go so you can find your fated mate. I promise the sparks, tingles and general feeling of awesome is worth the wait,” I tell her.

She hugs me back and cries for a moment.

“Thank you, Luna,” she whispers.

“That is what Lunas are here for,” I tell her.

I release her and turn to the brunette.

She rolls her eyes, “I'm sorry I was harsh. I should have approached with a little more caution. I’m sorry.”

I turn to the boys. “She is your girlfriend?”

“She was,” one of them wearing a letterman’s jacket scoffs.

“Well, she isn’t now. How old are you?” I ask.

“Eighteen,” he answers.

“So old enough to know she isn’t your mate, also old enough that your punching him is assault. Would you like to press charges?” I ask the other boy.

He looks at Letterman jacket and rubs his jaw. “Nah, I get it.”

“Good, shake hands,” I tell them. They do. “Good, now you two, go talk.”

The new set of mates walks away.

“She is good,” I hear Gabe say to Evander. I turn around and Evander is looking at me with a soft pleased smile.

Fran- His wolf wants to hump us.

Me- Gross.

Fran- It's what mates do. You did amazing.

Me- Hope it was enough to please Evander.

Fran- You have won Dexter. Evander will come around. Don’t give up on him.
