Chapter 13 Lunchbox

Zaniyah’s Point of View

As soon as we entered the building, a great number of eyes quickly turned to stare in our direction. While I was putting the lunch boxes that I had prepared for Ambrose into Brianna's hand, I held both Violet and Brianna in both of my hands.

I noticed some whispering. I had the impression that it was due to the reasons that there were two security personnel following us around and standing behind us. While the two toddlers led the way inside the elevator, the two security guards pressed the button to activate it.

After the two security guards had departed, the three of us remained silent as we awaited the reopening of the elevator and our arrival to Ambrose's office.

*ting*

The sound of the elevator brought back the anxiety that I had been experiencing earlier. It was almost as if I wanted to leave and go home if Brianna hadn't just dragged me in and Violet's annoyed eyes hadn't struck me. I felt like I couldn't bring myself to go.
