Chapter 21

"Mommy," Dahlia said when she saw Travis' Mom behind her.

"What are you doing here? And why are you carrying luggage? Did you and my son fight?" Mrs. Monte Cristo asked one after another.

"No, Mommy, Travis is in New York. Don't you know?"

"No, my husband didn't say anything." Her forehead was wrinkled.

"Ah, maybe my husband and son didn't tell me at all. You know I don't interfere in their business." She laughed awkwardly.

"Yeah," Dahlia answered.

"Come on; why didn't you call me? I could have prepared a snack and your room. You can use Travis's room since you are his wife."

Dahlia tried to decline the offer when she pulled her inside and entered Travis' room.

"Come on in. Sorry, the room is a bit messy; Travis doesn't want us to clean it. I'll go ahead first and prepare a snack," she said and left.

Dahlia looked around Travis' room. Books were scattered on his desk. There was also a shirt on the chair, so she took it and put it in the basket.
