Chapter 3

Schuyler Savannah's P. O. V.

I was busy serving the drink that one of my customers purchased when one of my co-workers approached me. Her eyes looked bothered when she suddenly gripped my wrist and pulled me in the kitchen.

"Schuyler.."

I looked around us and realized that the staff were gone. Where did everyone go? As soon as the door closed, the loud music of the bar speakers was minimized as well.

"I have a question for you.." I gaze back at her before I slowly nod.

"What is it?" My voice sounded casual and I think it gave her relief somehow.

Something's really bothering her. I can tell that, especially while watching how nervous she looks right now.

"Do you still want to finish college? You know, to get a bachelor's degree?" Her tone sounded as if she's strolling, but at the same time, curious as well.

"I want my parents well more than anything."

She slowly nodded at me before she sighed. "Well, what do you say about getting an extra job?" I raised my brow while waiting for her to continue. "I know a way where you can get an easy money without tiring yourself much—"

"You mean to be a hooker?" I tilted my head to the side. "Like the other waitress here?"

"Well.." I balled my fist when I caught her off guard.

"I'm desperate for money, but I'm not interested in being a hooker. I have respect for myself, please do know that." I didn't wait for her anymore.

"Wait, Schuyler!" She stopped me before I could even open the door. "It's not about being a hooker, though it's a little relevant—"

"Still, no." Emphasizing my answer, I pushed her away from the door before I went out of the kitchen.

As soon as we made it out, I saw some of the staff lining up to greet someone. Probably a VIP customer again, not the first time tonight.

These VIP customers use a different doorway to not be seen and involved with the other customers who're in different status as theirs. I walked straight towards them to greet the customer as well, but as soon as I saw his back figure, I suddenly felt something strange inside me. It's more of a fear.

This man looked familiar to me, but I couldn't tell where I first saw him before. I shrugged off the thought and just went towards them, but as soon as I got near them, I heard someone speaking from behind me.

"Have a business here, Mr. Riego?" A baritone voice asked, his tone sounded cold and hard, as if he's not pleased to see the person in front of him.

I glanced behind me and found the man, who's in his mid age, looking straight at our guest.

When I turned around, I quickly held my breath the moment I saw that familiar looking man, eyeing my direction before he spoke in a deep voice.

"Yes, I do." He said without even blinking that I almost assumed that he was saying those words to me, only if he didn't remove his gaze on me.

The two of them don't look really pleased to see each other, but they're still talking. I cleared my throat before I left the place and went back to my work.

"Schuyler, bring this to VIP room ten!" My manager said as he approached me.

I went towards her direction with a confused look in the eyes, "But, sir, I don't serve in that area. I have my designated spot, remember?"

His eyes sharpened. "Just do what I say or I'll fire you!" He furiously snapped.

I was about to speak back to him when a woman, one of our guests tonight, came to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulder. I shook my head when they immediately kissed each other and before I could feel more disgust with the sight of them, I just did what he was asking.

I think it's not bad, though. VIP customers are always kind enough to give us tips and if they give me a lot, it'll be better so I can use it to pay my parents bills.

I went to the right side of the bar and the customers' guards quickly became wary of my existence, some even holding their guns and blocking the doors to protect their bosses inside of each room.

I lowered my head when I instantly felt nervous with the way they looked and watched me, as if they're willing to end my life if there's anything suspicious I'll do.

I finally reached the room I was asked to go to and after seeing the car in my tray, the guards stepped out of the door to give me a way inside.

The smell of cigar engulfed my nostrils when the door opened and I made my way inside. Men were in the long chair, having fun while talking to each other and their hookers were around them and doing their job.

I took a deep breath before I walked forward and placed the tray in front of them. I was about to go out when someone suddenly grip my waist.

"Hey.." He looked drunk when he greeted me. "Come here, sweetheart."

I blinked in confusion while looking at him. "Sir?"

He chuckled in a small voice, "Don't be shy. Come here, I'll give you a tip later. You want that, right?"

My eyes followed his hand when he suddenly caressed the skin of my leg. I flinched and quickly got away from him in shock.

"What are you doing?" His tone suddenly changed and he slowly got up. "I don't like my toys doing that. Didn't your manager train you well?"

"Y-You must be mistaken, sir. I'm merely a waitress here, not one of our… h-hookers." I nervously said when he took a step forward to me. "I better get going now."

"Of course, you won't." He furiously said and grabbed me by my wrist. "Come here! I paid a lot to have you here tonight!"

"W-What?" He smirked at my confusion. "Daniel never really fails to amaze me." He licked his lips and eyed me from head to toe after talking about my manager. "Your first time here, huh?"

He looks happy and more aroused with the thought of having someone like me! The realization of what he was saying suddenly crept within me. My manager.. that's why he sent me here! He freaking sold me to one of the VIP customers!

How could he do that to me?! He knew that my only job here is to serve drinks!

The man in front of me grabbed my wrist again and I struggled to get away from his hold.

"Please, sir! Let me go!" I shouted at him. "You can just book for another hooker, I'm not one of them!"

I felt when everyone in the room averted their eyes on us and the pity in the hooker's eyes were there as they watched me do my best to get away from this man!

"No, sweetheart. Why would I do that? You look perfect already." He tried to push me onto the sofa bed, but I managed to get away from him. "Stop struggling! My men are outside, I can just simply tell them to hold you down while I—"

We were both surprised when screams suddenly echoed from outside the door. I took that chance to get away from him and made my way to the door. The guards couldn't stop me as they had no idea what was happening inside, giving me a way to get away from them.

"Get her!" The man shouted from behind me.

I turned left when the guards blocked my way and I quickly ran towards the door where there were no guards. I opened the door and pushed it open, the same time I heard a gunshot and it made me still and covered my ears.

My eyes widened when I realized what was happening inside this room and while locking my gaze to that familiar man who just killed someone in front of him.

His lips stretched into a wide grin, "Oh, hello there, my favorite kitten. Sneaking in, huh?"
