Chapter 2

Ezekiel Riego's P. O. V.

"Sir, their leader went inside the forest just now. Should I take care of him?"

My eyes glistened with darkness as I heard what my assistant said over the ear piece. A cruel smirk made its way to my lips as I turned my car over and parked it in the middle of the road.

"Leave him to me." I got out of the car and looked up at the dark sky.

The moon was shining beautifully dark tonight and all I was thinking is if the said Moon Goddess is watching me from above. How wonderful it would be for her to see me avenge my ancestors for her own failure in protecting them from these filthy and disgusting human beings, the same human race she has made us into protecting against the vampires and witches who are doing nothing but harm them in the darkness. Yet they found them amusing and heroic, while they hunt us down, their supposed protectors, only for a reason that we are monster looking and have a special blood to carry.

Fear and greed. Their weakness and strength, but always to my advantage now.

I darted my eyes on my cellphone before I run as fast as I could and track down the leader of the Razor Skull, a group of s*ndicate who f*cking raided one of my branches tonight to steal all the expensive cars we have made to sell in the black market.

Those cars weren't ordinary. They're made up for protection, preventing even a bomb explosion from infiltrating its inside and injuring the passengers.

We managed to prevent them from accomplishing their mission, but I don't get content with that. I want a real payment and make them an example for others to never get in my way, ever again.

When I finally inhaled a human scent in the forest, without thinking much and in a snap of an eye, I shifted to my Lycan form and ran towards him. He heard my footsteps and turned to face my direction, only to see me attacking him.

I bit his shoulder. My teeth and fangs were buried in his skin and blood was dripping from his body. I even had a taste of it and it was so much better than I had expected.

I threw his body in the air and he ended up falling from the side of the other road. His body was rolling and nearly got hit by a black car, only if the driver didn't get to stop in time.

The driver got out of the car and was about to help him when I quickly ran and jumped in front of them.

The man I was after sat on the road, weak and injured all over. The driver of the car screamed hysterically and he even fell on his knees while looking at me.

"Please, help me! Help!" He shouted to the driver who was frozen upon seeing me.

Stupid. Does he really think that a mere human can stop me?

"Please, save me from this monster!" He begged more.

I stood there and growled at them, waiting for one of them to make the first move as anxiety built inside them.

"I-I'll call the cops!" Someone inside the car shouted.

I tilted my head before I ran to them when the driver stood up and tried to get to my prey and help him. In one move of my hand, he was thrown away and hit his head on the tree. I knew he might end up dying because of how severe the damage it cost him, but my attention went to the car when someone screamed while crying.

I ran to the car's direction and kicked it, hard enough for it to fall on the ravine, rolling down while the woman inside was screaming for her life. A smirk made its way to my lips again as I slowly turned my body over to face my prey for tonight when I felt something hit my head.

My eyes darkened and I felt blood flow from my temple, but I remained still and stood in front of my enemy. His eyes widened when I didn't even show him any pain for what he did to me.

I howled loudly before I ran towards him and using my claws, I hit the area of his neck and chest, making the blood splashed from his wounds.

And because I was in front of him, his blood was now in my face and body. His eyes were filled with blood as he looked at me and I slowly shifted back into my human form, making him eyed me with shock and fear.

"Do you now understand the consequences of your stupidity?" I menacingly asked him.

My hands trailed one of his scratched wounds until I reached his neck. I stopped and looked at him with no emotion in my face. He tried to speak, but he only spatted blood and couldn't even form a single word.

"I-I…" Hell, I didn't even give him a chance to finish his sentence and my fist went flying to his neck, making him spat more blood and with his tongue hanging from his mouth, he fell on the cold ground, bleeding and lifeless.

I heard a car approaching my direction before someone stopped from behind me. I turned around, only to see my assistant in his lycan form and ready to attack someone.

Realizing it was only me who was alive in the place, he shifted back to his human form and glanced behind me. He shook his head and a car parked from behind me, its light was pointed at us and I smelled the scent of the other lycans I brought with me tonight.

"What should I do with his right hand?" I clenched my jaw upon hearing Hunter's question. "He seemed pretty loyal to him. He wouldn't tell us who paid them into attempting to rob our products tonight."

"He's only a f*cking human and you can't make him speak?" I spitted at him.

Hunter didn't say anything as he lowered his eyes to not meet mine.

I walked towards him and leveled his shoulder. "If I haven't heard the name of the mastermind of this sh*t, I will have your head instead, you got me?"

He slowly looked up at me and I didn't wait for any response from him as I turned my back and went to the car, not caring about the mess I made just now and if I am still naked.

"THEY'RE BACK ON it again."

I clenched my jaw when I heard what Charles said. My eyes snapped back on my computer screen as I read through my intel's report.

"Should we do something now?" Charles' voice sounded worried before I heard the chair move in front of me and I saw him take a seat. "We'd been letting them off for the past years. Why can't we just end them instead of tightening our security?"

The last name from the employees list caught my attention. I leaned back on my swivel chair and placed my hand on my chin.

Since when did it start? I tried to calm myself, but ended up boiling in rage with every possible thought in my mind that could happen tonight.

"Sir?" Charles called out to get my attention again. "Alvarez had been stealing from us for years and selling everything on the market. Shouldn't we be worried? If this continues, our products will go down."

"Why would you be worried?" I slowly stood up and picked up my coat. "The products he'd been stealing from us aren't the same quality as what we're showing off in the market."

"Still, his price is cheaper! Everyone is starting to love it. Why would you even allow this to happen?"

I faced the glass wall that can see through almost the whole city. The people downstairs are too f*cking busy right now and Alvarez group is also there, probably thinking of ways to get another shot of my products and steal them at a lowest price.

What a f*cking moron he is for thinking that he would be off my radar, just because he had been working for me for years.

"Let him be. He's contributing to showing how better our original products are in the market." I faced him again.

"Very well," Charles stood up too. "The money's being transferred straight into your bank accounts, anyway. And the id*ot was never even aware of it."

I nodded at him and walked past him. "Prepare our men tonight. We have a bar to party at."

"Party?" Charles stopped beside me while waiting for the elevator to open. I heard him sigh and saw when he shook his head. "I better call the cleaning crew, then."
