ログインSoon, Ava set the table and everyone was seated except Adrian Lester. He soon descended the stairs in a blue designer suit and a custom made leather shoes.
His facial looks were charming with his usual well treated comb over hairstyles and scruffy beard. His sharp penetrating grey eyes added to his handsomeness. Ava glanced at him briefly and quickly looked away. Adrian Lester is cute and that is not something one can argue about. But his heart seemed ugly. He is tall with a perfect physique that portrays him as someone who does a lot of work out. As Adrian Lester took his place at the dinning, Ava served him his sobering up soup but he tossed it aside and called “Ms, Alice” Everyone was surprised that he called Ms. Alice. If he wants anything, he could just say it and Ava will get it for him. But then, they all waited to know why he called the cook. Ms. Alice came over quickly and Adrian asked “the next time I requested a sobering up soup, bring it to my room. And ensure you are the one, not just anyone else” he instructed and waved his hand to her to leave. Not just anyone else? There isn't anyone present who doesn't know who those words were referring to. Ava,bowed her head and wouldn't want to raise it up, to avoid the tears from sipping out of her eyes. “Good morning everyone” Adrian Lester said, ignoring the awkwardness in the air. Whoever is not comfortable with his words, could take their miserable self out of the Lester family. “Good morning Adrian and happy two years wedding anniversary” grandfather Lester chimed, looking from Adrian to Ava and smiling broadly. It's already been two years and they are still married. Despite the odds, the resistance and the refusal from Adrian's side, 24 months have passed and Leon’s daughter is still with his grandson. “Thank you grandfather” Ava appreciated, raising her head and glancing at her grandfather. She stole a glance at Adrian and his penetrating eyes transfixed her to a spot and she shivered. Quickly she looked away and composed herself again. She's really scared of this man. How can she imagine he was that soft man who thrusted her hard last night and moans out in pleasure? “Happy anniversary Adrian and Ava” Richard Lester congratulated them. What can he do, the marriage has come to stay and there's no turning back. “Thank you fa…” Ava was going to appreciate her father when Adrian's hoarse voice interrupted her in a pitch that indicates he is not interested in what his father said. “Today I will be finalising the partnership with the board of trustees of the Mayor's group. And I think that calls for celebration father” Adrian interjected. His tone was arrogant and his sharp keen eyes were fixed on Ava as if he was passing a warning to her. The latter sighed softly and suddenly felt uncomfortable. But she dare not excuse herself if she doesn't want Anna Lester to skin her alive. “That is amazing. It's a two sided celebration Adrian. Your wedding anniversary and the business collaboration. Shouldn't we throw a party?” Richard Lester suggested. Anna pouted her lips. She knows how Adrian will take it, it's an automatic no for the party section. Others can wish them anniversary, but definitely not her. What she has here is a maid whose fortune has brought her to share a table with her and not a daughter in-law. How can she have something like this for a daughter in-law? Was she cursed that the only child she'd have should end up with something like this and called it a wife? She's just waiting patiently for Adrian to bring up the word ‘divorce’ and she'll take it up from there. She'd expected to have such a beautiful woman as Lola as her daughter in-law. She'd been Adrian's girlfriend for a few years until this trash suddenly sprout out from the gutters and splitted them apart. Lola has travelled out of New Jersey and hasn't returned since then. She hopes she returns and accepts Adrian. This is not his fault at all, it was his grandfather's fault and his father didn't help matters at all by staying neutral about it. “No party, and nothing worth celebrating. When I take over the affairs of the Mayor's group, we'll throw a party” Adrian declared. No matter what happens, he would never be in support of any celebration that day. His grandfather had turned the day sour for her. “What about your anniversary…” grandfather Lester was saying when Adrian interrupted him quietly “My girlfriend is back, Lola is in town and I'm going to reinstate my relationship with her. And I don't want you to feel surprised if you suddenly hear the news of our engagement on social media” he announced. “Wow..Lola is back?” Anna asked, her facial expression changed and she suddenly wore a broad smile. “When did she return!” Richard asked, holding back himself from expressing his excitement. When Lola left, Adrian became an introverted man. He loves her only and not Ava Leon. “Yes mother, she's back. She returned yesterday at noon and we were together for the rest of the day” Adrian informed. The rest of the day obviously includes at night. Lola kept herself for him over the years and she gave him her return gift, her virginity. He still doesn't know how she did it and sneaks away before dawn. It's obviously because she'd always been afraid of grandfather. She must have left before anyone wakes up and grandfather starts reminding her of her dignity as a woman to be frolicking around with someone else's husband. Those lines of words eventually caused their breakup and she left him and travelled out. Now that she's back, she would be avoiding coming in contact to his grandfather. He also will act dumb about it. There is no need to talk about it or ask the security guards about how they let her leave without raising a fuss about it. Ava's body stiffened at Adrian's words. Engagement? Social media? He was going to get engaged to that woman while they were still married? “Do you know you are legally married to Ava Leon?” Grandfather Lester yelled, hitting his fist on the dinning table in fury. How can Adrian say such words before his wife and think she would be alright with it? They are legally married and he owns his body to her alone. She's from a humble background doesn't make her less a human, nor can her rights be taken away from her. “I am not married to this tramp surnamed Leon. She's not my wife. Whatever reason keeps her in this family was solely your responsibility and I can't ruin my life and happiness because of that, grandfather” Adrian Lester seethed. “Are you crazy Adrian?” Grandfather Lester yelled. His complexion has gone reddened and he was really furious this time. He fixed his gaze on Adrian in fury that Ava shivered at the compression of the aura in the atmosphere. “I hate this woman here, for standing in the way of me and my love. I hate her and I will not accept her as my wife. Lola Carrero is the woman I love and will get married to” Adrian blurted. Only now, did Ava realise the true meaning of a Lion can only begat a Cub…“Why didn't I know about her for so many years?” Aurora asked. Jimmy was too certain that it's the woman, whose name he just mentioned. “You weren't with us for so many years Aurora. That woman blackmailed dad, even accused him of taking advantage of her and having a son with him. That was the reason why dad resigned from the office at the time. The investigation was done, because mom insisted that dad was innocent and stood with him. Kara was interrogated and the son she claimed to have with dad had a zero percent 0% relationship with dad after the DNA was conducted. Dad was compensated at the time and the woman was banned from this city to honour dad's innocence. She returned this time, used the same allegations against dad and this time, my wife was the weapon she used. She knows Magda losing the pregnancy was going to hurt my parents who want to be grandparents. I will not spare her this time. I will protect my family above everything and I must see her dead
Magda unzipped her designer bag and brought out the card. But Aurora intercepted it and took it away from her. She placed it carefully inside her bag and said “We'll sort out everything and I'll return it back to you” she said, her gaze on Magda. Magda's eyes welled up with tears. She wanted to blurt out the truth but her voice choked. She remained standing and Aurora stood up again and hugged her. “Jimmy, we are Blake's here. Don't let us create a scene before other customers here. I am begging you for the sake of father and mother” Aurora coaxed. Jimmy's eyes were red and he looked away “Let her sit and sign the papers anyway” he said and Aurora's heart beat. Sign papers? She hopes it's not a divorce paper, she would die if Jimmy leaves her. “Sit Magda” Aurora compelled, pulling the seat out for her. Magda had hardly sat down when Jimmy pulled out neatly folded papers and opened the place where her signature was needed. “This is where your signature is nee
“Aurora…” Magda said and trailed off. She waited for Aurora to say something. She heard a sighing before she said “Magda, I really don't know what to say at this time. We need to see now and it's not in your mom's place nor is it at Blake's mansion” Aurora informed. These were the family that stood by her, in her lowest moments. Her daughter found great aunts in them. Her brothers and their wives were the best family anyone could ever have. Now, seeing them fall apart, was something she cannot allow. Even if Magda terminates the pregnancy, she should be ready to right her wrongs by ensuring she gives Jimmy another baby soonest. “Tell me anywhere to meet you, Aurora, I'll be there,” Magda squealed. If she has to crawl to get to Jimmy, wouldn't she do it, let alone meeting his sister? “Let's meet at the beach restaurant in an hour,” Aurora informed and hung up. She contemplated, should she inform Jimmy to meet her there too? That's where they three can talk and get th
At that moment, Magda arrived at the hospital. She was able to meet her friend April. She smiled broadly when she saw Magda and stood up to hug her but Magda stopped her by holding her down. She had been on bed rest from the previous day when the pregnancy was transferred to her. Magda told her everything and she offered to help her carry her and Jimmy's symbol of love until everything is over. “April” Magda called out and sat next to her friend, taking her hand in hers “what would I have done without you?” She chimed. She stepped in and offered to help her just when she was lost for what to do next. “Only you know, bestie,” April said playfully. What had she done that someone somewhere hadn't also done for love and friendship? “Thank you” Magda chimed before turning her gaze to glance at the gynaecologist in front of her. The older man smiled broadly and said “congratulations Mrs Blake, the procedure was safe and the foetus is doing perfectly well” “Thanks do
Next morning, Magda woke up with the call coming from the hospital “Mrs Blake, you can come over and check the progress growth of your foetus…” the hospital called. A broad smile appeared on Magda's lips. The anonymous caller might have tricked her into ruining her relationship with her husband and family, causing a misunderstanding to separate them but definitely not her child. Her unborn baby is the symbol of the love between herself and Jimmy. If anything happens to that child, her love life will be tinted forever. “I'll be there soon, thanks” Magda replied and hung up. She got out of bed, her body a little better than the previous. She felt lighter and less worrisome. She was thinking, perhaps she should call Jimmy and invite him over for a talk. Will he listen to her? In Blake's mansion, Aurora groggily dragged herself from her bed. She arrived late the previous evening and heard everything that happened. But she didn't get to meet Jimmy. She freshed u
Magda threw herself into her mom's arms, and sobbed. It's her safe haven. That's the only person that would accept her wholeheartedly without questioning or having her thrown out, her love is unconditional nor was it based on anything other than wholesome affection. “Mom…” her voice choked. Her mother paused and pulled away from the hug. She squinted and became eager to know what made her daughter so broken and teary. She brought her to sit on the sofa and glared at her, wondering what went wrong. She glanced behind her, why isn't Jimmy with her? Are they having a fight? “What happened Magda? Where is Jimmy and why are you looking so tearful and sickly? Are you okay my dear?” Her mother inquired, curiosity taking a hold of her calmness. “Jimmy…I lost him mom, Jimmy and I are done..” she sobbed, cleaning her tears. But it appears no matter how she cleaned her tears, they kept cascading down her cheeks. “What do you mean, Magda? You are both married and h
