Damien kissed me. It should have felt terrible. I should have felt nothing but revulsion but the mate bond didn't let me.
He tasted like home. He tasted addictive. And as his tongue swept into my mouth, I forgot when I had parted my lips for him.
Damien growled abruptly, cutting our kiss short, his lips dipping to my nape like a man on a mission, his every lick, kiss and bite so urgent that I knew he was fighting his instincts to mark me.
I placed my hands on his shoulders fully intending to push him away but all I could do was tug him closer, my body soft and pliant beneath him.
Tell him to stop? That would have required speech and none of the sounds I was capable of making then were intelligible.
It was too much. The rough glide of his palm against my inner thighs, the feeling of his hot breath over my skin, the press of his lips, the nip of his canines.
Damien pulled back and I couldn't read the look in his dark eyes.
"That's what I thought."
My cheeks burned. Despite my initial reluctance, I didn't tell him to stop. Just as he'd predicted. Then his lips were on mine again and I forgot my shame.
My robe was gone in my next breath, my slip of a nightdress bunched around my waist and Damien stood between my legs, his hand on my breast.
I felt myself spiralling out of control, my hands caressing his bare shoulders, trailing down his back then faster than I could blink, Damien caught both of my hands pushing them above my head.
He didn't want me touching him.
It hurt. Oh, Goddess, it hurt.
Maybe if it had just been pain, I could have had enough strength to push him away.
But it was more. It was the feeling of completeness in his arms, the visceral pleasure, the maddening intensifying attraction with each touch from the mate bond.
From his deep, masculine scent that made my mind hazy, his weight on me, his masterful fingers inside me, my body's thoughtless undulation against his, and my reaction to his every minuscule touch.
His hands were everywhere holding me down, gripping my hips to grind me harder against him. He kissed me, nipped my neck and throat, sucked my nipples and took me so hard and fast that all I could do was fall apart in his arms.
I came so hard I saw stars behind my eyes. My moans and whimpers escaped my throat despite my best efforts.
Damien followed seconds after, and with one last punishing thrust and a shudder, he finished inside me.
Then, he pulled away and walked straight into his shower.
Maybe if I had left then, things might have gone differently.
But that was only the beginning of our monthly conjugal visits.
It was always once a month on my 'most fertile days' as dictated by the royal healers and physicians.
I grew to hate those days. Grew to hate the look in Damien's eyes when we were together. But more than that I hated the way my heart raced every time his cold persona faltered for even a second.
It was sick. All of it.
Because after those nights were over, we would slip back into our routine of ignoring each other's existence.
No matter the amount of effort I put into us, Damien never let me in.
It had been a little over a year since my mating ceremony with Damien and today was yet another fertile day.
But as I walked down the hallway towards his room, I felt sick.
Maybe it was because I skipped my meals again but I felt the weariness of a year of pretense wearing down on me.
Each time I left Damien's room after these visits, I died a little more. So much so that I wondered if I had really been saved from my fate as a breeder.
I pushed open Damien's door. And my world stood still and shattered.
Damien was kissing another woman, cradling her with gentleness he had never shown to me.
My heart broke at that moment and I made a sound, I must have, because the duo immediately sprung apart although Damien's hand stayed around the woman's waist.
The woman's blue eyes immediately latched onto me, hatred blazing in their depths and I immediately knew who she was.
She was Miranda. The other woman.
Damien didn't even have the good grace to seem ashamed.
"It's good you are here. We were waiting for you. It's about time we put an end to all this pretence."
I was livid, the cold sort of rage that slowly quietly consumed a person from the inside out. I was hurt, the type of hurt that festered.
"What are you talking about?"
Miranda shuffled closer to Damien, his possessive hold on her evident and it was at that moment I noticed the bump in her black dress.

TerraWas that… Was she… no. No."Miranda is pregnant with my heir," Damien said, confirming my suspicions. "My heir will not be born a bastard."Nausea clogged up my throat and it felt like the world was spinning out of control around me. But more than that I was shaken as I realized what exactly Damien was telling me."You… You want to reject me." I stared at Damien waiting for him to deny it but he didn't."I have only ever cared for Miranda. You know that."I did but I still couldn't accept it. I wanted the pretence to end yet I… I couldn't let go of him."I am your MATE, Damien. Our relationship is fated, you can't just end things like this."It was sick, I knew but I wasn't sure I could live without Damien.Damien's grey eyes met mine and for a second it felt like it was only both of us in the room. Both of us and all the hurt and pain we had put each other through. For a moment, it felt like Damien was seeing me, really seeing me.Then Miranda's shaky voice cut through the tensi

TerraThe elder bowed deeply."I apologize, Prince Damien. Please consider-"I turned away, unable to listen to the rest of the conversation. As though if I ignored what I heard, it would make it disappear.I was getting too good at that. Ignoring things. Ignoring the side glances and hushed whispers about me at court events.Ignoring the pitiful looks my maids and guards gave me any time I tried to talk to Damien only for him to ignore me and walk away.I ignored it until I couldn't ignore it anymore."Tonight you will visit the Prince," Sophia informed me barely two days later, her eyes filled with compassion and sadness.I began to shake. Only later would I realize that it wasn't just from pain and humiliation but also rage. After almost six months of ignoring my existence, Damien wanted me to make an heir with him to secure his right to the throne.I wouldn't have gone but it was a chance to speak with Damien alone. One I hadn't gotten since coming to this palace. I couldn't waste
Terra"Get the rose petals."The air around me was cloying and I could barely breathe. The water around me seemed to tug at me, dragging at me beneath.I was tired. So damn tired."That will not be necessary," I said, standing up from my pool-sized heated bathtub."But Princess-" Sofia sounded appalled but I was already halfway back to my room, my maids covering me up with my robes and heated towels as I moved.I stopped in front of the mirror and almost didn't recognize myself. My dark brown hair was the healthiest it had ever been reaching just beneath my backside, my skin was paler but soft and pampered. But my dead tired eyes told a different story."You might as well save your strength. My mate will not look at me no matter what I look like." I said softly.I was so sick and tired of this.My bedroom went completely silent then my maids, all twelve of them, bowed, quiet censure in their voices."Princess."Right.I was Lycan Princess Terra Morgan happily mated to Lycan Prince Dam
TerraI froze. "What?"My mate turned to face me, those beautiful grey eyes as cool as ice."Did I stutter?"How could I leave? Why did he want me to leave?"But we are mates and-"My mate didn't let me finish before interrupting me, his expression unchanging."My mating ceremony is in a week and I have no intention of ditching my bride for a mere omega masquerading to be who she is not."It was then I noticed the bottle of Allure on his bed stand. It must have worn out sometime last night or this morning revealing my natural omega scent. There was a big misunderstanding here but all I could focus on apart from Diana's pained howls in my head was the first half of what he'd said."You are engaged?" My voice broke on the words but my heart shattered when he didn't deny it.He simply flung my dress at me."I trust you know your way out."Then he left the room. He just walked away.As I approached my pack, I felt like an empty husk. A broken version of myself. My mate might not have reje
Terra"Runt, I almost didn't recognize you. You look… different," Eric smirked, his lecherous gaze fixed on my curves. "I like it. A lot.""Please excuse me." I bowed slightly, then moved as fast as my legs could carry me. I hurried away from Eric.He was faster, his steel grip tightening around my wrist forcing me to a stop."I wasn't done talking to you, Terra." He snarled and my body began to tremble against my control.I could feel Diana trying to fight against Eric's dominance in my head but it was hopeless, I simply wasn't strong enough.Eric tugged me closer, my back to his chest, his nose in my hair and my backside firmly pressed to him. So much so that I could feel his erection.Nausea bubbled up inside me and I began to struggle against his hold in earnest."Let go of me!" I screamed, my elbows digging into Eric's ribs.Eric let go of me but before I could make my escape, he backhanded me so soundly that I fell to the ground, my vision hazy."How dare you refuse me?"
