Chapter 25

Nina's pov

Nina didnt know for how long she cried in Damon's arms but it felt like hours. Finally all her energy drained off as she slowly went to sleep in his arms.

Nina opened her eyes and noticed that Damon was right beside her, holding her hands tightly. His head was on the bed but he was sitting on the chair and he was asleep. Nina's heart tugged a bit seeing him in this condition. She remembered what happened last night and how he hugged her to sleep. But she can never forget what he has done to her and their baby and she knows that she can never forgive him for that.

Nina slowly tried to get up from the bed. As soon as she moved from the bed Damon jumped from his sleep and rushed to Nina.

"Sweetheart do you need anything?" Damon asked with the warmest voice.

"No, I Just wanted to go to the washroom" Nina said unsured.

"Okay let me take you there , please don't move by yourself." Damon almost begged as he took her in his arms and moved to the bathroom. He helped her sit on the toilet seat and asked if she wanted him to stay in the bathroom.

"are you crazy? get out" Nina said in a hushed voice as Damon got out from the bathroom but stayed just outside the door.

Nina didn't know how to react to Damon's sudden change. Honesly, right now she didn't even have the strength to react. The doctor came a few minutes ago and said that she could go home now, although she was still bleeding the doctor said it would stop soon. Damon was with her the whole time and listening to the doctors words carefully.

"Nina please come back home, I wont be able to sleep knowing that you are somewhere else in this condition" Damon begged Nina. As soon as Damon knew Nina could go home, he has been telling her to go with him to his house which was once her home too. But there is no way she can go there back, ever.

"You can only bring my dead body in that house Damon. As long as I am alive, I'll never step a foot into that house" Nina said with determination.

"What are you even doing here in the first place? just a few days ago, you didn't even care if I lived or not , you just threw me out of the house as if I am an old ragged doll. You didn't even believe that this child was yours. You called your own child a bastard. For god's sake, why are you here?" Nina shouted with all her might as tears kept falling from her eyes non stop and she hated it, she hated showing herself weak to him, she hated herself for being so weak that she couldnt even protect her child.

"I...I know...I know I fucked up everything, but Nina you cheated on me, I saw those photos of you with Stephen, I couldnt take that much. But the way I reacted was so wrong, I should never have done what I did. I know this baby was mine....I really know.  I love you, I love you so  freaking much and nothing can change that. And only god knows how sorry I am for calling my own baby a bastard." by the time Damon finished talking he had tears coming out of his eyes. Nina looked at him for sometimes with a blank expression.

"You still believe I cheated on you!" Nina gave a little sad chuckle as said," please Damon leave me alone....I beg you, just get out of my life, you have done enough. The child is dead arent you happy now?" Nina paused a little as she put her hands on her stomach and tried to find that warmth but there was nothing now just like her empty soul.

"I just want to be alone Damon and just by seeing your face I remember everything. please let me be in peace, I really cant fight anymore" Nina said with a tired voice.

Damon's pov

Damon took a deep breath as Nina said that his face reminds Nina of everything. He knew that Nina was only telling the truth. so did Nina really did not cheat on him? Was she being framed. So many things were going in his head as Nina said, "I am going home, I've told a nurse to book a cab for me. I dont want to see you again Damon, Please dont come back to me, Thats my last request to you". Damon could hardly register all of her words. Nina tried to get up from her seat and Damon could see how much discomfort she was in . He went up to her and tried to help her but Nina pushed him and told him not to touch her.

" please Nina, let me just take you to the cab, I beg you, I cant see you like this, Please" Damon said. Nina kept looking at him without a word. Damon hesitated for a few seconds but eventually he held her again and took her to the cab.

Nina sat on the cab without any words. she locked the door and looked ahead. The cab had not started yet. Damon kept looking at her through the window. It started raining suddenly as the cab started and soon went out of Damon's sight , but Damon still kept looking on that direction, as the rain kept pouring on him. And Damon was glad that it started raining cause now no one could see his tears.
