Chapter 2

It had been a month since Katherine started her classes at Richmond High school and since day one she's been friends with Ann and Hudson. They were also here through their scholarship program like her. They had grown closer and had few classes together. She also made few others friends. One of them was Laura. She met her at the library. Apparently, Katherine was searching for a book when Laura helped her finding it for her. She was a year senior to them. All the three knew that she belonged to the rich class of people but somehow she was very sweet and friendly with them.  They were comfortable around her. They wondered what made her become their friend. 

“He is doing it again.” Hudson whispered to Katherine and Ann, covering his mouth with his hand so that no one would read his lip movement. 

“Who is doing what again?” Asked Ann chewing her sandwich. Katherine was enjoying her meal as she felt that the school food was much better that her hostel food. She did not mind her friends and continued eating.  

“That guy is staring openly and stupidly at Katherine again.” Informed Hudson.  

Katherine's hands which were holding the burger stopped midway listening to that and she turn to look back. To say that she was shocked would be an understatement. A handsome, tall guy with sharp facial features was looking at her. The moment he saw Katherine looking at him he smirked slightly giving her a wink. 

Katherine's heart skipped a beat. She immediately blinked away her eyes and turned away from him. 

Clearing her throat, Katherine said “I don't think so. Looks like he is looking at someone else". 

“Are you kidding? Don't you see he is clearly gawking at you?" Added Ann with an amused face. 

“Whatever he is rich and that means trouble. Let's just ignore him.” Saying that Katherine started eating her meal again. Nodding at her, both Ann and Hudson started talking about other things.

It was the weekend, Katherine and Hudson were walking together towards the gym after their Math class when they saw Laura coming in their direction. She was waving at them with a huge grin plastered on her face.  

“Hey buddies” said Laura hugging them both. 

“Hey.” Said both of them in unison. 

“I’m heading to the soccer ground. Want to come with me? I’ll will introduce you to my group of friends.” Asked Laura. 

Hudson was more than happy as he did not have any friends other that Ann and Katherine and he really was in need of a male friend since he felt like he was missing all the guy talks. So he said ‘yes’ right away whereas Katherine stood there looking hesitated at first but had to say okay as Laura did not leave her with a choice. They had to wait for Ann before they all left together to the Soccer field. 

There was a game going on between two teams of boys. Laura dragged them all towards where her friends were sitting. Reaching their usual spot, she introduced them to Judy and Callie.  

Callie shook her hands with Hudson and hugged both the girls. She had a pretty smile and a warm nature. She had long blonde hair with amber brown, big eyes. She was dressed in a pink off-shoulder crop top and a denim jean. Whereas her friend Judy was dressed in a mini skirt and a button up shirt. She just nodded her head and possessed a dark expression. One could easily say that she did not like them being around her anywhere. 

“You still have to meet three more of our friends.” Said Laura. “They are at the game.” 

 After greeting, they took places on the empty seats and watched the match. Hudson and Callie were soon clapping and cheering along with the crowd. Katherine was sitting and watching the match silently munching on her pop corn. She was not much into sports and did not have a damn clue about the game but still pretended to follow it. She was just waiting for the match to get over so that she could go to her hostel room and do whatever she wants. She was always an introvert and liked to spend time alone rather than being in company.  

Much to her happiness, the game ended pretty earlier. All the students sitting on the bleachers started dispersing.  

“We are all going to Burger Inn. Why don’t you all join us?” Asked Callie to which Judy clicked her tongue turning her face with an annoyed expression. She immediately got a glare from both Laura and Callie. 

“What?” whined Judy 

Ignoring her whines, Ann just said “It is okay. It is already late. We would join you guys some other time.” 

“Please join us. It won’t take much long. You will be back to your hostel in an hour. I’ll be really happy if you joined us.” Pleaded Laura with puppy eyes to which no one could say no. She was hell bent on introducing Katherine to Ashton. She had never seen her friend interested on anyone before, like he was now. 

“Laura, they seem really in a hurry. Why don’t you let them go?” asked Judy acting all sweet. 

Katherine, Hudson and Ann really wanted to run away from them. They were not even slightly comfortable around that rich brat, Judy. But they also did not want to break Callie and Laura’s heart for they were nothing but nice to them. They looked at each other and finally nodded their head positively.   

“Where is Noah, Ashton and Mike?” Asked Laura looking around.  

“It will take them some more time to get out of the field. I had texted Ashton. He said he would join us at the inn.” replied Callie. 

Getting into Laura’s Lamborghini Aventador, they headed off to Burger Inn.
