His mom's legs froze in place and she turned to him with a broken gaze.

“And what's that supposed to mean?” Her voice grew shaky.

“Don't get me wrong, mom,” he got up the chair and turned to face her while standing in place. With the determined feeling clouding his chest overthrowing his rationality, he said. “I'm letting you know that the moment you leave, I'll also be doing the same. I want to go out and search for Kyle… and I'm not saying this to get your permission. It's my decision.”

“...what?”

“It makes no sense to you, right mom? That's why I need you to hear me out and let me explain why I need to.” A pinch of his emotion slipped through his voice. “Can't you hear me out for just a little while?”

She struggled to make a decision, he knew that from her hands clutching in and out in a fist. His first words also seemed to be having a huge weight on her.

“It's fine if you don't want to listen to me.” He turned away and began to step out of the table.

He also couldn't give her what she wanted, not any longer.“I don't… I don't know why I just feel safe with him and why it just, feels right to have him next to me. I don't even know why I like everything about him and why I can't relax knowing he's not with me right now. I can't sleep right knowing he's in danger, it's hard for me to eat when I don't know if he's seeing half of what I have. I'm scared–” his voice shook up from the sting in his throat. “And worried, I just… I don't know, I'm so confused and uncomfortable, but all I know I want right now is to get Kyle back. Mom… did you forget? The only reason I got the chance to have all these years with you, dad and Bree? It's all because of Kyle.”He saw her eyes grow teary, her head falling with the shake of her head as if telling him not to say another word.“If it hadn't been Kyle, I wouldn't have met you. I also,” he paused, remembering Heralis words. “I also wouldn't have made it out alive from that fire.”“That doesn't mean a

  • His silent voice.   High time.

“Dylan, you're in there, aren't you?” His mom's voice came through the door and their faces all turned pale.“It’s his mom.” Lucas freaked out in an attempted whisper and Theo hushed him at his failed attempt.“We can't let her see him here.” Mrs. Waltson got up and held him along. “Come here, Dylan. We can't let you get in trouble anymore. Use the back door.”“You guys go back up. I'll answer that.” Mr. Waltson instructed to the boys and they all moved in agreement at once.Despite how dark their situation had turned, how they were all working to help him out of the situation he had put himself in, even as he let himself get led away by Mrs. Waltson, all he could focus on were the stairs he was being led past. His eyes wandered on the stairs for as long as their steps allowed, and when he was led past it and realized the scent he had gotten comfortable in was leaving him again, he couldn't go on.“Dylan?” She called at his sudden pause. How long was he going to go on like this? For

Somehow, he ended up back on their couch. The others surrounded him quietly and watched as he drowned himself in the scent of his hot lemon tea.Was it the original scent that had drawn him into the house at first, or the tea that had a slightly different scent in his hand but had every negative feeling inside him melt off? He had no idea but it definitely made him feel good. And as he let the warmth of the tea seep in through his fingers, a warm smile curled up his lip. He had only asked for the lemon tea as an excuse, knowing fully well his stomach might reject it as usual. To his surprise however, it only took him a few more silent minutes to gulp it all down. His insides and stomach felt fulfilled, did they really just give him lemon tea or did they have something mixed in it? He questioned himself as he stared at the empty cup in his hand.“Would you like some more?”“Mhm,” he nodded, still in a warm daze, then a blink snapped him back and he waved. “I mean NO. No, I'm fine. Tha

His bare feet touched the cold wall providing only a slight grip, but he wasn't bothered in the slightest. It wasn't his first or second time after all.Knowing just the corners to grab unto and quietly lowering himself down the top floor, he jumped down to the second wall guard before landing on the ground with a careful thud. Possible from his bare feet.He let out a soft sigh as he glanced up his room one last time, checking if Bree who had her window next to his hadn't noticed a thing. With the coast clear and then without making a sound, he slipped out the backyard. The lights out front was too revealing and he couldn't risk being seen by anyone from his side. So the backyard was the easiest way he could go. It also was the fastest route he had to take to get to his destination. With his legs taking him in the trail of the scent that quietly calmed him, it wasn't long before he found himself standing at the edge of the Waltson's backyard. His head peeked to the side and his eye

Kira was right again. There were a lot of things he hadn't told them, while he knew almost everything there was to know about them. “I mean, you don't have to tell us everything. We all have secrets sometimes, but,” she shrugged, mumbling just loud enough for him to pick up. “Can't you let us let us in a little more. Or are we not ears good enough 'cause we're girls?” “Of course not.” “I know we have a loud mouth… or maybe I do.” She quickly straightened and then groaned out. Clearly she was finding it hard to get her words right. “Argh! Just… trust us a little more. If there's anything bothering you or something you don't feel right about, we can help out with that much, you know?” He smiled again, getting her message loud and clear. “Mhm. I'm sorry I made you feel that way.” She pursed her lips, “I'm also sorry I got mad at you.” her gaze shifted to the ground apologetically. “I got too carried away with my feelings when others were going through the same.” “No, I'm glad you
