Dangerous look

Sophia POV

FEW DAYS LATER

I have gotten used to Sophia calling me mum, but she has never called me that when her father is around. Maybe he will scold her for calling me that. Ava's is sweet and warm to be with.

It's the birthday of my adopted daughter today, and the Lucas insisted that a large party be hosted to celebrate her sixth years birthday. He employed some maids to help with the preparations.

The beauticians has been busy getting the Ava dressed, while I stay by her side. She look extremely happy, and it makes me remember when I was little, my parents make sure they makes us happy by getting us what they want even though we don't have much, a drop of tears drop from my eyes when I remember my mum condition and I quickly clean it before Ava knew I am crying. There's no need to cry I shouldn't be a coward, right?

"Are you OK, Mum?" Her tiny voice pulls me out of my deep thoughts, and that is when I realize that she has been calling me but I was too lost to hear her.

"Yes, daughter. I'm fine," I smile at her as I watch her stand up to her feet. The beauticians that were getting her dressed already left the room, leaving the two of us alone in the room.

"How does this look on me? I feel like I'm not beautiful enough," She whines as she checks herself out in the mirror, and I can't help but smile at how cute she is. One thing I've come to notice about her these past days that I spent with her, is her love for beautiful and luxurious things. I don't blame her anyway. If I have a dad that spoils me with luxury the way Lucas does to his her, then I'm sure that I won't be any different. I've been longing to ask Ava where her mother is, but it will be disrespectful to ask her that type of question.

"It looks perfect on you, my love. You look stunning," I compliment her, but the look on her face doesn't look like she's satisfied with the dress. For crying out loud, she picked the dress by herself and her father paid huge amount of money for it, so what on earth is she saying now?

"Are you sure? Will father like it? What if he doesn't feel like I look good enough in it? Did you think this dress will  catches people attention?" She whines, and I can't help but admire the bond she shares with her father. Was I like this with my father too in the past? Did he spoil me the way Lucas does to his kid now? Did we share this same unbreakable bond? I didn't grow up to know who my father was

"He will like it, I'm sure of that, OK?" Squatting in front of her, I pinch her cheeks and she smiles at me cutely. What a beauty.

"Come on, sweetheart, your guests are waiting for you already. Let's go show them what we've got," I take her hand, but she shakes her head.

"What is the problem, sweetheart?" Confused, I question her.

"You haven't dressed up yet. Come on, I got you a beautiful cloth to wear," My mouth drops open in shock as I watch her rushes over to her closet and throws it open. She picks out a blue long gown that's exactly the same design as her dress.

"I asked the beautician to picked this up for you. Do you like it?" She asks as she places it carefully on the bed, while I just stare in confusion. She didn't mean that is for me, right?

"Come on, change your cloth already. We're running late," She picks up the cloth again and hands it to me.

"I'm sorry, but I can't wear that. You're the celebrant, and besides, I'm just an ordinary nanny," I say to her, but she only chuckles.

"I, Ava Leon, commands you to wear the dress and take me out of here," Her voice airs dark aura even as she have a cute smile on her face.

"Hmm," I nod my head as I finally take the cloth from her and go to the dressing room where I change into the cloth.

"Wow! You look stunning in that," She smiles as soon as I step out of the dressing room. It's almost as if it's a mother and child wearing the same cloth.

"Thank you," I reply to her, feeling uncomfortable. The dress is too expensive for me, and I'm also scared of what Mr raper would say when he sees me wearing the same cloth with his daughter. I just hope this doesn't turn out bad.

"Come on, let's get going already," She holds my hand and pull me with her as we both stride out of the room.

A few minutes later at the royal hall

My heart beats rapidly against my chest as we finally stop in front of the location big gate, waiting for it to open. The guard finally opens the gate, and I almost jump out of my skin at the sight that welcomes me. The hall is filled with so many people. Wait! Did they all come for Ava's birthday?

Walking in while holding my gaze low, I bet all eyes are on me. Gosh! Why the heck did she insisted that I wear this? We finally stop in the middle of the hall, and I glance at the cleaner whose smile is so wide.

"See the way father is looking at you," She whispers to me, and I slowly raise my gaze to check what she's talking about, but my heart stops beating at the sight that welcomes me. Lucas has always looked handsome everyday, but the man I'm seeing now is way more handsome than the way he used to be. He's all graced in black expensive suit

, his raven hair is falling freely down his shoulders and stops on his waistline, with two braids on each end. His sparkling eyes melts my heart and takes my breath away. Wait! Why's he looking at me like that?

"Father..." Ava's suddenly calls his attention, and he quickly turns his gaze away to look at her, but I bet he still glances at me from the corner of his eyes.

"Happy birthday, my love," His smiles is everything to brighten your day.

"Thank you, father," She replies to him while having an exciting smile dancing on his lips.

I watch as Lucas stands up to his feet and turn his attention to me.

"Ava has never been this happy in any of her recent birthdays. Thank you for putting a smile on my daughter's beautiful face," He says to me while having a wide smile dancing on his lips.

"By the way, you're beautiful in that outfit," He whispers to my ear, and my heart misses a beat as my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Gosh! There are people here for goodness sake. I shouldn't be blushing to his word, right? He is the one that ruin my life and that of my family.

"Thank you," I manage to reply him. He turns and takes Ava hand as he heads to the VIP to sit.

Hours later

The party ended about thirty minutes ago, and all the guests already returned to their various places. Except from Lucas mother. The party was fun, and we had so much wine to drink. My head feels so heavy, and the only thing on my mind right now is to get some sleep.

Ava already went to bed, and now I have to find my way to my room. I'm tipsy, but I can still manage to see. Dragging myself out of the room, I manage to find my way to my room, and I crash on the bed as soon as I step in.

'You look beautiful in that outfit' I suddenly sit up on the bed and cup my cheeks in my palms and I smile as I recall his words. He looked so cute.

"What are you doing here?" The voice I will never forget even in my deep sleep, speaks up beside me. Snapping my head in the direction of the voice, my mouth drops open in shock at the sight that welcomes me. There is Lucas standing with just a black towel hanging dangerously around his waist. What the hell!
