Misunderstanding

Allie's POV

I caught up with him when he was about to press the elevator panel button. Breathing heavily, I had to clasp tight to my handbag with the hope that it would appease my inhalation.

"Richard is waiting for you. You can start tomorrow," he informed me, veering around and gesturing his hand for me to collect my credentials which I had forgotten to take after my interview.

"I don't want to go home" I whined before I could stop myself. I have no idea where that came from.

"You can go shopping with him then." he implied, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly.

"I don't want to" I declined again as I followed him into the elevator.

"Then what do you want?!" he yelled, his ocean-blue eyes boring into mine. I shivered backwards in fright. I knew I was behaving like I am sort of attached to him but did he have to react that way?

"You don't have to be grumpy though" I mumbled, adjusting the bag on my shoulder.
