Allie's POV

"Allie. Allie! "Mr Austin shouted my name repeatedly.

We are at the shooting location for our new magazine project. I was the one assigned to the task, but I don't understand why my boss wouldn't let me focus.

I sighed tiredly and aggressively flung the document towards the nearest table before walking to him.

I was already stressed at the rate at which I'd been sent on errands the past few days. My boss, Mr. Austin has severally caused serious headaches for me and of course, I couldn't complain because I would be laid off, which is something I don't yearn for.

I have been working as a staff at the "Diamond" magazine for the past two years. I loved the job even though my guardian's, the Smiths weren't pleased with my type of company; Mainly because they have their firm "Royals" a brand that is worth billions of dollars on its own.

I was offered to be one of their advertisement shooting directors, but I rejected the proposal.

I was offered a job at larger firms through the influence of my guardians, but my naive and callow self declined the offer mainly because I wanted to be on my own, find a job, and be successful without easy access.

Immediately after I was done with College, I was fortunate enough to find a job that I think suits my taste. I have a passion for taking pictures and videos of scenes, as a shooter.

The Smiths tried their best to convince me that no one would bother me or look down on me since that was also my fear. I had dread for the media to acknowledge or misunderstand that I was their daughter. I had thought otherwise thinking they might trace my connection to them as I also bear the surname, Smith even though I wasn't legally adopted. They are only my guardians since they have taken care of me for many years. They suggested that I should be at least a non-regular worker, but I still defied them and decided to work at a less-popular company in a secluded area which is "Diamond" The pay is ok at least to cover up my bills.

I was grateful for the Smith's love and care for the past years as I promised to be that determined independent woman I had always wanted to be, but at the moment, I regret not accepting their request. My legs hurt due to the heels I was putting on which is a result of roaming about without proper rest, and this had been occurring for weeks.

"Yes, Boss. you summoned me" I answered, panting heavily.

"Don't you think you guys need to reschedule when the shooting for Carlos(a celebrity) should take place? I don't think the set goes with the trend you know... latest styles" He indicated with an irritated glare.

"You told me it was perfect earlier" I muttered, baffled by his sudden change of suggestion.

"I just found out it isn't good enough," Austin claimed, shrugging his shoulders.

"What do you want us to do now? " I asked, screaming inwardly.

"We need to change it" he announced, daring me to complain.

"Oh, my boss! You know how cocky the young star is. He won't oblige, and we might miss this opportunity" I reasoned, feeling disheartened already.

"What if we publish the magazine and his fans refuse to buy it? " he argued, folding his arms, now facing me like he was interested in whatever I had to say next.

"But..but the settings isn't even bad. I don't understand why you insist we change it" I grumbled.

"I insist you change it. What's wrong with that?!" Mr.Austin argued loudly.

I staggered back in shock.

"It's not necessary though" I pouted with puppy eyes, hoping he would be convinced, but he shunned me instead.

"So…what you are trying to imply is that I don't know my job, Allie. I noticed that these days you've been all over full of yourself!" He clamored while pointing his finger at me, gritting his tooth so that the other staff that were present in the building wouldn't detect anything.

"No... No that's not what I meant" I clarified, already aware of where the discussion would lead as it had recently become our routine. I had enough of this man whom I secretly have feelings for even though he hadn't been his usual self these days.

"Then what do you mean? Make me understand!" He sneered, eyebrows overlapping in confusion.

"I told you before that isn't what I meant boss," I lamented.

"So it's true that you've been yourself behaving like you are in charge. I guess I caused this. After all, I was the one who initiated our closeness. It is not your fault" He insulted me.

I lowered my head in embarrassment for a few seconds before lifting it back.

I could not hold it anymore as I flared at my boss's harsh outburst and rash judgement. "You're the one who has been acting differently these days. You find fault in everything I do boss, even though I tried to ask you if I had unintentionally offended you " I voiced out in a shaky tone.

"Shut up, Allie! always endeavour to listen to those who are more experienced in this field. I know what is ok and what's not okay" He spurned audibly enough to other staff.

I furrowed her eyebrows and slightly bowed down, obviously and greatly embarrassed as I bit my lips in dread.

"I am so sorry" I apologized feeling remorseful.

"You know what? I am out of here," He stomped out slamming the giant door of the building.

I skimmed my eyes around the room, and most of them were giving me a farce expression. I ignored them, raised my chin, and moved towards them to announce the sudden change.

Not only that, I also walked into Carlo's dressing room to inform him. His manager quibbled non-stop, but he had no choice since he had already signed the contract with us which made it easier for me to convince him.

**7:25 pm**

I was moving towards the space I parked my car, getting ready to go home while reminiscing about what happened earlier.

I felt embarrassed by his actions. Still, I tried to cover up for him with the thought that I was at fault. I shouldn't have talked back. He was my boss after all.

Maybe I was too rude, and perhaps I was cocky and arrogant. I thought sadly, and settled inside my car.

"But we do talk informally most of the time," I proceeded with my self-argument, raising my eyebrows even though I was the only one in the car.

I recalled that we had both gone to a housewarming, and I was the one he picked as his date. Why did he show interest in me in the first place? Now that I figured out that I am in love with him, boom! he starts behaving weirdly.

Oh crap!

My body system was in turmoil as I kept thinking of answers that could solve the whole situation.

"I guess it was not more than boss and worker relationship" I huffed, flinging my heels to the back seat.

"Oh good Lord, just because he snapped at you doesn't mean he dislikes you. Get your shit together!" I encouraged myself with a as I grabbed a full portion of my hair hoping it would make me focus.

"I will apologize to him tomorrow," I concluded before igniting the car to zoom off to my condo.

~~~~~THE NEXT MORNING~~~~~
I woke up to the rays of sunlight reflecting through my room windows. I glanced at the wall clock, and it was 7:59 am. I sprang up panicking at the realisation that I was late.
"Oh God, I'm late!" I exclaimed, rushing to the bathroom, careful enough not to slip over the floor. In the next few minutes, I was already dressed, my hair tied in a rough bun, and ready for work.
I zoomed off, hoping my cranky boss would look over my lateness. I was silently wishing there wouldn't be traffic today. Luck wasn't on my side as the road was already clogged up in heavy traffic.
I intentionally hit my forehead on the steering wheel in frustration. I also refused to pick up my ringing phone.
45 minutes passed before I was able to get through the traffic. Surprisingly, Mr Austin wasn't in the office when I arrived at my workplace. The junior retinues and interns were throwing strange stares at me because of how I was sneaking into the staff room, but I was rather not bothered.
Relieved that I was able to escape, a satisfied smile appeared on my face. I was ready to sit when I shivered at a loud mocking laughter.
"Look who finally decided to show up!" Becky, my colleague sneered.
"I am not ready for your unnecessary tantrums, Becky. As you can see...I am busy" I replied sincerely and pretended to arrange my desk.
"Busy doing what? Wait, don't tell me you didn't know that we were supposed to have a meeting today" Becky scoffed with eyeball glowing from being trapped with surprise.
"Just so you know, every one of us were in the meeting room including the boss. We are done after all, but you were supposed to be his business confidante right?" She taunted, eyes glinting mischievously.
I felt ashamed because truly, if we have an upcoming meeting, Austin usually informed me first.
"You were in.. the...meeting room?" I panicked inwardly, but refused to let it be observable.
I guess I did not notice their absence when I came in. "How can I be so stupid!?" I whispered to myself, trying so hard not to suffocate.
"Miss Allie!" the other staff exclaimed, coming inside one after the other surprised that I was in the staff office all this while.
"I called you close to five times this morning, is everything ok?" Layla, the only friend I was close with at work inquired with concern laced in her voice.
I nodded and scurried out to the meeting room. Truly, they had a meeting since a majority of them were back discussing in the staff room.
I dusted up my frock, feeling anxious as I walked into the meeting room. I felt a knot form beneath my abdomen as I pressed the door knob and walked inside.
It didn't take long before I was welcomed with the words I dreaded the most. "You are fired!" My boss yelled.
This must be a nightmare!
  • His woman, his addiction   Epilogue: My happiness, my family
    Five years later~~~~~~ Allie's POV"Oh mummy, it seems I will be going with the James family." My little girl, Kylie announced impatiently in her tiny voice as she walked into the room. Aaron and I quickly feigned alright. We hurriedly separated from each other and I shoved my gown down. "Wait for me, honey. Just a few more minutes" I appealed and sauntered towards the mirror to redo my smooched make-up. "Try to understand me, mummy. If I have to wait for the third time for you to retouch your makeup…, then I will surely be replaced and all my effort will be in vain." She pointed out smartly. I sigh and honed an accusing stare at Aaron. He winked and shrugged his shoulders. "Mummy understands you. Therefore, you can go with the James family, baby. Also, let Jeff (the chauffeur)escort you. I will wait for mummy while she redo her makeup and of course, mummy and I will meet you at the reception my little bride " Aaron urged and I could see a haunting smirk on his face immediately
  • His woman, his addiction   Bliss
    Allie's POV I flinched at a screeching loud voice and flickered my pudgy eyes severely to adapt to my surroundings. Weak is an understatement for my condition. I shook my head and eventually snapped my eyes open to meet different eyes watching me. One was that of a doctor who was relieved from my awakening, another was Mr Smith who had an edgy expression and the last was Mrs Smith who looked evidently agitated and gloomy. Her face indicates that she had been crying for as long as I could presume. The doctor came to my aid in a sitting position. I hung my head down and clasped my hands together if I could recall my last moment and it began to make insight. Aaron? Kiara? The media? I began to flutter and my eyes pricked unbearably. A banging head and a tough headache. I stared at Mrs Smith who had begun to sob again. "Dad, what do… we.. do?" I solicited desperately with a cracked voice. "Did you just we?!" Mrs Smith denounced. "How dare you? How could you do something like that
  • His woman, his addiction   Why me? Why us?
    Allie's POV Aaron was quiet for a while before answering "Her dead body was taken by her father immediately. He didn't wait for her to be properly taken care of at the hospital. He rambled about the death of his precious daughter whom he evidently doesn't love. Father used his money to shun so many people including Kiara's father. Kiara's father's location was unknown but he did demand the majority of my father's fortune for three years. I was at home in seclusion for those three years and I didn't graduate nor finish up my entrance exams to gain admission into college. I watched the downfall of my father's adored fashion company. A ruination and doom that was caused by me"I let Aaron transfer his emotions into his words. It was a good sign for his mental health as he is spewing what has been in secrecy in his heart for years."When father totally went off without money, Kiara's father ceased asking and disappeared with no traces to date. The rumours had been forgotten with excess
  • His woman, his addiction   Revelation
    Allie's POV The tape shows a female and a male high-school student in a superheated brawl. The guy whom I could single out as Aaron, and the anonymous lady whose face isn't much noticeable but she kept wiping her face which I assume was soggy from sobbing. She was propelling Aaron back like forcefully attempting to say something but he was evidently outrageously infuriated which made him continuously push her for him to walk away. It went on like that till he shoved her with extensive pressure. She inches far and hit her head on a sharp abandoned iron. It resulted in her having a heavy flow of blood from her forehead. Aaron proceeded forward and suddenly halted when he noticed her situation. He hit his hand on a button angrily and probably cussed. The force on the regulator caused dust to overshadow the place. It was like it was compressed in a cylinder and the button was the regulator fixed up on the wall. Bizarre, equivocal and questionable. He spared a glance at her, said some
  • His woman, his addiction   Communication is the key
    Allie's POV Aaron walked towards me with a bright smile and gently placed the covered breakfast on the medium sized eating table. He then leaned his knee into the bed and peck my forehead. "How was your night?" he asked softly and caressed my shoulder. "It was fine and yours?" "Never had a more pleasing night" he grinned. "The bed… she.. et? " I stuttered. "I cleaned you off while you were asleep" he said and I breathed in relief. Gosh! I got the best hubby. "Your face looks disturbed. Is everything alright?" he asked, his eyebrows crinkled in concern. "I'm feeling sore and weak" I replied and he sank on the bed beside me and tug me in his muscular arms. I pushed my phone away from me and adjusted comfortably in his arms. "It's because it's your first, give it some time I love you" he murmured and massaged my arms. Sincerely, I'm scared of saying anything maintaining this threat to him with the assumption that he might think I am doubting his love for me even when we
  • His woman, his addiction   Matrimony night
    Allie's POV I nodded in response and pointed to the Mercedes Benz. "Make sure you wear that seductive material. You need to make that fella groan desperately in pleasure, make him beg. Geez, show him what you got. You know what I mean" she smirked "Make him scream your fucking name while he cums, remember all those styles and positions I thought you. You can message me if you forget" she muttered with a smug expression. My face turned scarlet as I turned to stare at Alvize and Aaron hoping they didn't hear what she had said. "What if someone hears" I tried to keep my voice low. "Well…" "Lily let's go," Alvize called and tugged at her hand. He winked at me and veered around leaving me with Aaron."The chauffeur will take us to the airport tomorrow morning. Dad made preparations for Dubai without telling me. I had tried to convince him that you don't want to go outside the country for the honeymoon but he insisted and said it is your dream city" Aaron explained and played with the
