Sienna POV

The morning sickness had become impossible to hide. For three days straight, I'd been rushing to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times, and my mother's suspicious glances had grown sharper with each passing hour.

I was hunched over the toilet again, my body heaving even though there was nothing left to expel, when I heard the bathroom door creak open behind me.

"Sienna." My mother's voice was cold, controlled, it sent chills down my spine. "We need to talk."

I didn't turn around, couldn't turn around, my body felt stuck on a spot. My hands gripped the porcelain edge of the toilet as another wave of nausea rolled through me.

"I said now." Her footsteps approached, and I felt her presence looming over me. "Get up and look at me."

I slowly rose to my feet, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. When I finally met her gaze in the bathroom mirror, I saw something that made my blood run cold—she already knew. Somehow, she already knew.
