Sienna POV

I was carrying a basket of laundry down the hallway, my mind occupied with everything but where I was going, when I collided with something solid—someone solid.

The basket fell from my hands, clothes scattering across the floor. But I barely noticed because the moment our bodies made contact, everything else ceased to exist.

It hit me like lightning—a jolt of electricity that started where his hand had instinctively grabbed my arm to steady me and spread through my entire body like wildfire. My wolf, who had been quiet and dormant for weeks, suddenly surged to life inside me, howling with recognition.

Mate.

No. No, no, no. This couldn't be happening. It can never be happening—my step brother is my mate.

I looked up into Ronan's face and saw my own shock mirrored there. His eyes had darkened. His grip on my arm tightened, not painfully, but possessively—instinctively.
