“Give me a hand with the dinner would you, sweetheart,” Mom says as she looks over her shoulder at me. Blake is still in the office with his father. “Are you worried, Mom about the rogue situation? Or do you think they will do what they want for a while and then leave?”

She lets out a little sigh and places the tea towel on the counter by the Butler’s sink. “Who knows, but I intend to find out.”

I almost shriek. “Mom, you can’t do anything. You are sick remember. You need to take care of your health. No way. I won’t allow it.”
