Zain’s POV

I had lost control again, and the worst part was that I had lost control again in front of Samiya.

Although the thrill of beating Meidran into a pulp had been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, seeing Samiya’s lost gaze easily undid every bit of pride I had in me.

I had fucked up. Again.

My body went still as I waited for my gammas to come pick up the filth lying before me while I contemplated how I was going to address this and everything else with Samiya. I couldn’t even look at her. My eyes remained on Meidran’s pathetic form like a hawk.

Rage howled in me like a bloodthirsty beast. Luckily for me, I had an emotion just as powerful flowing through me, and keeping me still — ice-cold regret. It froze me in place and played the moment that Samiya begged me to do away with Meidran on repeat. And how I didn’t listen to her. I didn’t because I was too arrogant to believe that the bastard would be bold to make moves in my castle. I didn’t because I was helpless.
