Chapter 13
I barely had any sleep last night.
Screw you, Dean Ryan.
I woke up early this morning and had a long shower. I got into the kitchen and started fixing up breakfast.
"Hey G." I heard Chris speak behind me.
"Hi," I said and placed his omelette on a plate and handed it to him.
"Thank you." Chris said quietly.
He was wearing a black V-neck on blue ripped jeans. His hair was wet and droplets of water were falling to his face.
I dished out my omelette and took out the mugs of hot chocolate. I handed Chris a mug and sat down.
"So... You never told me how last night went." Chris said cautiously.
"I don't want to talk about it." I shrugged.
"Why not? Did you guys fight again?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Let it go, Christian." I said firmly.
"Oh, so
Chapter 14"I'm sorry." Dean said softly into the cold night."For?""I'm sorry for being an asshole to you, for being so mean and saying all those stupid things. I didn't mean any of it, I swear.""Just because you want to be forgiven doesn't mean you should lie. You meant every single word that night, you just never thought you'd say it to my face."Dean had driven us to the beach house. By the time we got there, darkness had already seeped into the sky. We sat quietly on the beach sand, staring into the water. He lowered his head and whispered, "I'm sorry for making you cry, Chip. I really am."I'm sorry that I let his words make me cry. I had promised myself that that will never happen again but it's like with Dean I seem to break all my promises on my rule of life. I didn't know what it was about him."And?" I inquired.
Chapter 15Dean and I stayed at the beach house for a little while last night before he drove me back home. I made sure to give Kyle a call, apologizing for Dean's behavior, before I went to bed.I woke up this morning with a cheerful feeling. I had a long refreshing shower, got dressed in a mint green sweater and blue jeans, placed everything necessary into my bag and walked out of my room.Chris was still in his room when I got out so I walked into the kitchen and started fixing up breakfast. I was dancing to the song that was playing in my iPod, swaying my hips and bobbing my head to the rythm as I flipped the pancakes in the pan."Morning, Grace." I heard Chris speak groggily behind me.I placed two pancakes in a plate and turned to Chris who was seated on a barstool. I handed him his breakfast with a bright smile on my face, "Morning, best friend."Chris' e
Chapter 16"Grace!" Tommy ran down the stairs excitedly and tackled me to the ground."Ow!" I winced. "Get off me, Thomas! I am not one of your football teammates!""Gracie?!" I heard my mom's voice as she came into view."Hey mom." I said with a smile and ran to embrace her.She pulled away, "How have you been sweetie? How has college been?""All good mom. How have you been?" I asked her as we walked to the kitchen."I've been great, dear.""Something smells delicious." I bit my lip."Uh huh, you're just in time for dinner." My mother smiled."Thank God. I missed mommy's cooking." I said. "Where's Dad?""He'll be home soon. I'm sure he's on his way back from work." She said hovering over the stove."Well, did he know I was coming home tonight?" I asked.
Chapter 17I walked over to them, "Mom, this is my new friend, Dean.""It's very nice to meet you, ma'am." Dean smiled at my mom, stealing glances at me."You must be the reason behind my daughter's smile recently." My mom said and I felt my cheeks heat up. "And it's Miranda to you.""I hope I am." Dean smiled at me. "You look amazing, Grace.""As do you."Dean was dressed in a black suit and a black bow tie. I couldn't help but smile when I noticed he was wearing the suit jacket I told him I preferred and it hugged his body in such a way that easily said that it was tailor-made for him. He looked muscular and his hair was a hot mess on his head.I know I said that Dean was like a brother to me, but why did said brother have to be smoking hot?!"Enough with the googly eyes. Let's go!" Chris rolled his eyes."But I
"She will be the death of me," They said.Little did they know I wasn't afraid of dying.Chapter 18"Chip, calm down for a second." Dean held both my shoulders. "He has to be somewhere in the house.""He's not," I sniffed. "I've looked everywhere. He's not picking up his phone and I'm worried out of my goddamn mind.""Maybe he might just be somewhere you haven't looked yet." He said in a soothing voice."He was talking to his parents not too long ago and he looked so glum. They must have said something terrible to him." I stuttered."We're going to find him, Chip. You have to calm down."

Chapter 19"Strawberry or chocolate?" Kyle asked me as we walked out of our department."Tough one." I bit my lip. "I'd go with strawberry.""If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?" He asked.I thought about this for a while, "Ice cream, but only if I can get my mom's brownies with it.""You have to pick one." He said as he gawked at some girls walking past us."Ice cream then." I decided and that was when I saw Dean waiting near his car.Chris was home sick with a really bad cold so Dean was supposed to drive me home so we could take care of Chris together.Kyle and I walked to Dean's car and I gave Dean a knowing look. I had been telling him that he had to apologize to Kyle for acting the way he did the other day but he always managed to slip out of the topic."Hey Chip." Dea
Chapter 20I woke up the next morning with a very terrible pain in my stomach and when I walked into my bathroom to take a shower, what I had been thinking was confirmed. My period.I thought it wasn't coming for the next three days.I groaned loudly as the striking pain came again. I have always had excruciating period cramps. Whenever I was on my period, I always take a lot of ibuprofen, sit on the floor in pain, reduce my sugar intake and most of the time, I get sick. It was the worst time of the month for me.I think for most girls too. When I was done taking a shower and fixing on a tampon, I looked through the cabinets to see if I had my ibuprofen but it had finished. I let out another groan as I staggered out of my bathroom and got ready.I placed all my necessary things in my bag and walked out of the room. I
