I patted my lap and she unhesitatingly sat down on top of it. I smiled to myself since she seems to be trusting me more and more as time passes by. Actually, we haven't bonded for that long, but she already trusts me this much.

I guess it's really true that blood doesn't lie.

"Let me ask you a question," I said.

She looked up at me with wide eyes and nodded her head.

"What did your mommy tell you about your daddy?"

"Hmm," she placed her hand under her chin. "Mommy doesn't like talking about daddy."

I raised my eyebrows. "Oh, really?"

She nodded her head and gestured for me to come closer. I looked at her, confused, but complied with what she wants.

She went closer to my ear and whispered, "But I hear her crying sometimes. I think she misses daddy so much even if she doesn't talk about him."
