Thalia

“Are you just going to stand there or what?” I snapped, crossing my arms in front of my chest. I looked at the very attractive man in front of me and kept my head held high. I followed him out of the gym since he told me so, but now he’s keeping silent.

He looked at me with raised eyebrows, his eyes showing a suspicious glint—one of surprise, or maybe even amusement.

I sighed and uncrossed my arms, impatiently running my fingers through my hair. “Look,” I took a step towards him. “If you’re going to keep on staring at me without saying anything, then I’m going back to the gym to train. Your taking up the time that I could use for lifting weights.”

I was about to walk away from him when he held onto my wrist. I gasped as I felt his warm and rough hands against my skin. However, I didn’t let him know that I felt flustered, and instead swallowed my feelings down.

“What? Let go of me!” I tried breaking away from his grip, but he only persisted on. He tilted his head to the side while I glared at him. Whoever this person is, he’s hella strong. I fought those three useless men back in the gym and they couldn’t even contest my strength, but with this man’s grip, I feel like I wouldn’t be able to break away even if I did my best. Whoever he is, he’s definitely not someone ordinary—he must be a high-ranking guard or something.

“Are you aware of who I am?” he finally spoke. I gulped when I heard his deep voice once again.

I was right. He’s definitely not an ordinary person. However, I’m not going to let him step all over me just because he’s someone who has a higher title.

“No,” I snapped.

“You really don’t know who I am?” he repeated, making me sigh.

“No,” I exasperatedly said. “And frankly, I don’t care.”

He chuckled in disbelief, his dimples showing on the side of his cheeks. He finally let go of my wrist with a smug smile on his face.

“Who the hell are you anyway?” I asked as I inspected my wrist. There was a red mark imprinted on it because of his grip.

“I thought you didn’t care?”

I clicked my tongue to suppress the annoyance I was feeling. “You’re right,” I sarcastically smiled. “I don’t care who you are. We’re all just guards here anyway. Who knows? I might be able to surpass you once I’m finished with the training system.”

“Guard?” he pointed to himself.

I shook my head. “Talking to you is useless. I don’t even know why you brought me here when you’re just going to repeat my sentences.”

“I’m going to go,” I said in a final tone.

“Wait,” he said, making me stop in my tracks.

“What now?”

I turned around and was surprised to see his face so close. Looking at him at this distance, he definitely looks much more attractive. It doesn’t take away the fact that he’s annoying though.

“What’s your name?” he asked in a low voice.

“I’m not going to tell you,” I stubbornly said.

He brought his face closer to mine, causing me to have a sharp intake of breath. Just then, the look in his eyes changed, and he suddenly turned more serious, more dangerous—borderline murderous.

“I said, what is your name?” he asked through gritted teeth.

He gave off a feeling that I couldn’t fathom. However, one thing was certain—I had the urge to submit to him.

“Thalia,” I mindlessly said. It seems like my mouth just had a mind of its own, and my name just spilled out.

And just like that, his eyes went back to normal as the smug smile returned on his face.

“Thalia, huh?” he smirked.

I swiftly turned around, not even bothering to say goodbye, and went back to the gym, feeling his eyes lingering on my back.

***

“Infuriating,” I muttered under my breath as I sat down on one of the cycles.

“Who’s infuriating?” I heard someone say from beside me, causing me to snap my head towards them.

“Oh, it’s you,” I said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Daisy exclaimed.

“Nothing,” I shook my head. “Just not in a good mood.”

“What happened?” she asked.

I looked at her and decided to tell her about what happened since I really just want to get these feelings out of my chest.

“I met this guy,” I started off.

Her eyes lit up and she looked at me with a mischievous smirk. “Oooh, a guy! We haven’t even been here for a week, but you’ve already met someone!”

I sighed and rolled my eyes. “Fine. I won’t tell you.”

“Sorry, sorry,” she sheepishly said. “Tell me.”

“I met this guy—this ANNOYING guy,” I emphasized. “You weren’t here earlier in the morning, but these guys tried to make a move on me, so I beat them up.”

She nodded her head. “So, that’s what they were talking about. You did them good, girl. They went straight to the infirmary.”

I smiled proudly, but quickly scowled when I remembered what happened.

“Anyway,” I continued. “I met this guy.”

“Is he hot?”

I sighed. “Are you going to let me finish?”

“Sorry,” she held up a peace fine. “Continue on.”

“Nothing special happened. He broke up the fight and called me out. I think he’s a senior guard or something.”

Her eyes widened in surprise. “A senior guard? You talked with one?”

“I don’t know what he is, and I don’t care. He’s annoying as fuck. He called me out only to repeat my words. He didn’t even say anything worth my time.”

“Calm down,” she said. “What’s important is you were not reprimanded.”

“Whatever,” I closed my eyes. “I just hope I won’t meet him again.”

“Now, onto the most important question,” she cheekily smiled. “Is he hot?”

“You’re not going to stop until I answer you, aren’t you?” I sighed.

She shook her head. “So, just answer the question. I’ll be less annoying that way.”

I looked down on the ground. “He is,” I muttered under my breath.

She gasped and slapped her hand over her mouth. “He is?!”

“He is,” I frustratedly exclaimed. “But then again, he’s fucking annoying. It cancels away his handsome face.”

She chuckled and shook her head. “Fine. Fine. We won’t talk about him anymore. You’re just lucky that you weren’t caught by the trainers. They came here when you weren’t around this morning.”

“What?” I asked. “They already came here?” I looked around the place.

“Yeah,” she nodded her head. “They came here at exactly 4:00 in the morning. I was actually looking for you since you weren’t in your bed when you woke up.”

“I was already here at 3AM! That guy only made me go with him, that’s why I wasn’t here at 4.”

“No biggie,” she reassured. “It seems like they didn’t notice. You’re one lucky gal.”

“She is, isn’t she?” a new voice chimed into the conversation.

The both of us froze, and I slowly turned around, dreading to see the intruder.

Standing there was my brother with his arms crossed. He raised one of his eyebrows while I closed my eyes.

“Shit,” I muttered under my breath.

He looked at my badge number and clicked his tongue. “Apprentice#16. You’re late for today’s training session.”

***

“I hate him. I hate him. I hate him,” I exclaimed as I scrubbed the toilets clean. I looked at the stained tiled floor and bit my lips to suppress the scream that threatened to escape my lips.

“It’s all because of him that I’m taking this punishment,” I muttered under my breath.

After my brother had noticed that I was late, he pulled me off to the side to reprimand me for what I did. He said that I should consider myself lucky for only earning a punishment. If it were any other trainer that had caught me, I would have been eliminated from the system right away.

And that’s how I’ve become stuck in this stinking male bathroom, trying to brush off the grime and goo that covered it’s floors and walls.

I was almost finished with my work when a couple of apprentices entered the bathroom. They snickered when they saw me cleansing the floor. I decided to ignore them since I just want to get this punishment done and over with.

I turned around, however, when I heard a trickling sound coming from behind me. I turned around and found one of them peeing on the spot that I just cleaned. I looked at them with my mouth agape, but they merely cackled.

“Have fun cleaning that up, princess,” they chuckled as they went out of the room.

I finally let out a scream of frustration and threw the brush to the ground.

If it weren’t for that guy, then I wouldn’t be through this shit!

I just hope I never see his face again!

  • How to Hide the Mafia Boss' Child   69: New Family Member

The last special chapter will be about our lovely main characters! Luciano brings home a new addition to the family, and let's just say he kind of regrets it. *** "Shh," Luciano exclaims as the creature beneath his feet continues whimpering. He sighs in frustration and massages the bridge of his nose. It hasn't even been an hour since the creature came home, and he already regrets it. Luciano has never been fond of dogs. Let's just say he's never really been fond of animals ever since he was young. After being attacked by a pack of squirrels when he was innocently playing in the grass when he was younger, he had never been the same. It also fueled his indifference (and slight fear) of these non-human creatures. However, after hearing his precious daughter continuously say that all she wants is a dog for her sixth birthday, he had no choice but to cave in. I mean, who could really blame him? With her adorable smile and puppy eyes, who would be able to say no? The two of t

  • How to Hide the Mafia Boss' Child   68: Enemies to Lovers

Now, this chapter will be focused on how Reese and Daisy fell in love with each other. It will be set around the time when Thalia hasn't been found by Luciano yet. *** Reese sighs as he hears someone enter the room. He doesn't even need to turn around to guess who it is. The small yet sharp footsteps coming from the door are enough to tell him that it is Daisy who graced him with her presence. He turns the swivel chair around, facing the woman. He bites his lip as he looks at her frantic figure. No matter how much he tries to deny it, he really can't—this woman is beautiful. "You still don't know where she is?" she asks. And utterly annoying. She just knows how to push his buttons. He sighs and closes his eyes, defeatedly shaking his head. "How many times do I have to tell you? I haven't found a lead yet! I've searched through all the CCTVs around the area, but I still don't know where she went. You know how my sister is—she's very tenacious." Daisy clicks her tongue and

  • How to Hide the Mafia Boss' Child   67: Trip with the Grandpas

Hi again! Welcome to the special chapters! These are just a collection of fun stories from our beloved characters. I hope you like them! All of the special chapters will be written in the third person's point of view, so I won't be repeating that all throughout the chapters. Cheers! ****** "Umm, so what do we do now?" Emiliano asked as he looked at the tiny and adorable human looking up at him with wide eyes. Warren chuckled nervously as he patted his back's mate. The two of them decided to take Lucille on their trip to Amsterdam, and now, they were kind of regretting their decision. Not because they don't want to be with their granddaughter (they've actually been pestering their respective children to let their daughter go with them on a trip), but because they didn't know what to do with a literal child. It has been more than twenty years since they've interacted with children, and frankly, they've never really been good with it. As they aged throughout the years, the two of t

  • How to Hide the Mafia Boss' Child   66: END

Luciano "Do you like your new room?" I nervously asked as I showed Lucille the interior of her new room. I knew that I'd done my very best to place the items she loved most in this room, but it still made me nervous. That feeling quickly melted away, though, when she looked around with wide eyes. "Duckies!" she exclaimed as she observed the painted ducks on her wall. "And so many toys! Did you do this, daddy?" I smiled and kneeled down to her level. "Do you like it, my princess?" She enthusiastically nodded her head. "I love it! I can play in here all day!" I chuckled and ruffled her hair in amusement. "Tomorrow, my princess. It's already late. You have to go to sleep now." She pouted and shook her head. "But I want to play," she insisted. However, not even a second later, she already started to yawn. "Tomorrow, okay? I'll play with you all day long!" "Really?" she asked with tired eyes. I nodded my head. "I promise. But for now, you need to take a rest, my princess. Yo

Thalia“Luciano,” I moaned into his mouth, placing my hands on his chest to gently push him away. “We haven’t even placed any sheets on the bed yet.”He ignored my comment and continued placing open-mouth kisses on my neck.I don’t know what happened and how the events escalated, but a few moments ago, we were watching Twilight in the home theater when Edward’s and Bella’s kissing scene played on the screen. I couldn’t deny that I was feeling turned on by the sight of two attractive people kissing, but I had already watched that particular scene plenty of times, so it wasn’t such a big deal. Luciano, however, seemed to have taken quite a liking to the scene despite declaring hatred for the movie itself. So, before I even knew it, we were already imitating the scene on the TV and making our way to the master bedroom. I felt the rough mattress against my skin and felt that it would be such a waste to ruin a completely new mattress, so I harshly pushed him away.“What’s wrong?” he aske

Two months laterThalia“Are we finally getting new neighbors?” I asked, looking outside the window while sipping my morning tea. I was having a peaceful breakfast when I heard some type of commotion just right outside. I peeked out at the window and saw moving trucks transporting furniture to the newly-built house just right across the street. It had already been two months ever since Luciano had left the mafia, and we were now currently living with Grandpa Ferri at Amari Coast. The two of us talked a lot about what we wanted to do—whether we wanted to stay here or move to another location. I was already too attached to this place, and I’m glad Luciano felt the same way. Lucille, too, voiced out that this is her favorite place in the world. So ultimately, we decided we wanted to stay here.Lucille was currently out on a trip with her grandfathers. Yes—plural. My dad and Luciano’s dad had been laying low from the Mafia and now decided to travel the world together. Since Reese is alrea

  • How to Hide the Mafia Boss' Child   63

This chapter is dedicated to Daisy and Reese! It also shows how Don Emiliano changed his mind! Reese She slapped my shoulder and gently pushed me away, causing our lips to separate from each other. I leaned in to kiss her once again, but she placed her hand on my chest and halted my movement. She gave me a nonchalant look before placing a quick kiss on my lips. "There," she said. "That's the last one. Now, we have to go back to work." I raked my hands through my hair and let out a deep sigh. "I don't know what to do anymore, Daisy," I said. "We don't even have a clue of where Thalia is!" She held onto my shoulders. "And that's why we shouldn't lose hope. I don't want to lose another important person in my life. We have to find Thalia and Lucille at all costs." I nodded my head. "We should. I just don't know where we're going to start." Suddenly, Daisy's preppy ringtone sounded in the room, causing the two of us to look at her phone. She was the first one to look at the

Luciano "What?" I snapped, not believing a word he said. My father sighed and raked his fingers through his hair. "Count this as my final gift to you. I'm giving you a choice—the mafia or your family?" "This is another one of your ultimatums, huh?" I asked. "It's the final one," he smiled bitterly. "W—Why are you doing any of this? What made you change your mind?" He sighed. "Honestly, I never really wanted this life too." My eyebrows raised in inquiry. He never wanted this life? He's the very last person on Earth I would imagine not enjoying the mafia scene. "It is what my father taught me—the mafia always comes first. Everything else is only in second place. I instilled that quote in my mind, and even now, I still believe in that mindset." "So, you want this life after all?" I asked. "I didn't want it at first," he said. "But I've become used to it. There are a lot of things and people I've sacrificed because of that belief, and frankly, I'm way too deep into this li

Thalia"No!" I exclaimed, going back to remove the hollow blocks that separated Luciano and I. However, I halted my steps when I felt Lucille stirring in my arms. I looked back and forth from the wall to my daughter and realized why Luciano decided to do what he has done. It's for the two of us to survive...Even if that means he doesn't get to.So, with a heavy heart and tears streaming down my face, I squeezed through the narrow opening to finally escape from this place. The cold air hit me as soon as I escaped, yet I still feel like I can't breathe properly. I also feel like there isn't any strength left in my body, and there isn't anything I want to do other than go back to where Luciano is and stay with him until the end. But I have to think about our daughter and about how much life she still has to live. With that thought in mind, I ran away from the building, determined not to look back. My vision was occluded with tears, and due to that, I couldn't clearly see what was
