Mag-log inI sat in the salon as Sheila surveyed my hair.
"Your hair is healthy and we would be able to dye it. But first we're gonna bleach it. Sounds good?" She said and I nodded.
Sheila began working and soon enough she was done. She spun me around on the chair and I looked into the mirror. I gasped when I saw myself.
My hair was now blonde and I looked amazing.
"You look gorgeous girl." She gushed and I giggled.
"Thank you so much." My bouncy blonde curls looked absolutely gorgeous.
"You're welcome darling."
After I was done with my appointment, I went to a store to purchase some clothes. I was going to dress differently from now on and nothing was holding me back.
Then I had brunch and after that I went home and changed to go to my interior designing class at 1pm.
When I entered the class everyone turned to look at me. The teacher walked over to me.
"Good day miss, can I help you?" He asked and I chuckled.
"I'm Annette." I told him and he laughed.
"Oh, I see you changed your hair color. You look different."
The class was over soon enough and I was packing up my stuff when Stacy-Ann approached me.
"Wow you look amazing, you look different."
"Thank you Stacy."
"Girl, I'm having a party next weekend. You have to come."
"Sure, I'll be there."
"Wait really?"
"Yup, you're surprised?" I chuckled.
"Yes because you never use to come to parties. You said you didn't like parties."
"Well, I use to be busy but I have a lot of free time now. So I'll definitely be there."
"Sweet! See ya around Annie." She grinned and left.
I received a call from Alex. I wonder what he wanted to tell me.
"Hey Alex, what's up?"
"There's something I gotta show you. Can you meet me on Elmore street?"
"Yeah I'll be there in 15."
Ugh, this can't be good!
I arrived and met Alex's car parked at the side of the street.
"Damn, you look gorgeous." He said.
"Thank you. I guess I make a better blonde huh?" I joked.
"Sure it's a great change but you always looked amazing with your natural hair color." He said and I blushed.
"T-Thank y-you." Why am I stuttering?
"Now what is it you wanna show me?"
"I found out who the woman is." He said as he took out the pictures.
"Me too."
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah I ended up finding out through an old friend. The woman is Evie Nathalia Jones. She works at an insurance company."
"Well well well, look at you, little detective." He pat my head and laughed.
"I learnt from the best."
"I just can't believe he would do that." I said as I took a photograph and looked at it.
"What does she have that I don't?" I sighed.
"Not a damn thing Annie. You're beautiful and perfect. Nathan is the asshole."
"Thank you so much Alex. And you're right, he is the asshole. But you know Evie met me already and Nathan introduced her as a client. She knows I'm his wife and yet they're both together. That's fucked up."
"Some people have no shame. That's just sad and really messed up. I'm so sorry this happened to you." He sighed.
"Thanks for helping me out Alex. I appreciate it."
"You're welcome Annie."
"Maybe we could grab a drink or something?" He suggested and I thought about it for a bit.
"Sure."
~We were currently at a bar laughing out heads off. Alex is a pretty funny guy."Cheers to horrible husbands and scheming whores." I said and we gulped down our drinks.
"Cheers."
We looked at each other and started laughing again.
"This is nice." He said and I nodded.
"Yeah it is." It felt great to be here.
"Let's dance!" I said and he got up.
I grabbed his hand and we went unto the dance floor.
We started dancing and before I knew it, Alex was behind me holding my waist as I moved against him.
Then I realized what I was doing and stopped.
"I should get going home." I said and he nodded.
Alex walked me to my car and we stood infront of it as I turned to him.
"I had a great time. Thank you." I smiled.
"Anytime." He grinned.
Suddenly, Alex wrapped his hands around me and pulled me into a hug.
"You said you had no family aside from Nathan, but for what it's worth, I care about you Annie. Family doesn't have to be blood. It's the people that care about you. And I'm here for you. I figured you needed a hug." As he said those words tears welled in my eyes and I hugged him tightly. This felt so warm and comforting.
"Thank you so much Alex." I sobbed.
Thank you

Upon arriving home, I made dinner for Nathan and I.When I was done, I showered and texted my friends. I asked them if we could meet tomorrow so we could talk. They immediately grew worried about what I had to tell them. They're so gonna hate Nathan for this shit he's doing.
Some minutes later Nathan arrived, his head was down as he typed something on his phone.
"Good evening." He said but didn't look at me.
"Good evening Nathan."
"I'm starving, I'm gonna change and I'll be down for dinner."
"Okay." I replied.
He didn't even spare me a glance as he walked upstairs. I shook my head and proceeded to take out the food.
I placed the plates on the table and sat down and ate my food.
Nathan took his seat, his phone was still in his hand.
"How was your day at work?"
"It was alright. Just the same as usual." He responded.
"Alright."
"Woah, Fuck! What did you do to your hair?"
"I wanted a little change." I replied calmly.
"You look so fucking hot baby. Blonde suits you so much." He said as he stood up.
He walked over to me and pressed his lips against mines.
He slid his tongue into my mouth and started making out with me. We pulled apart for air and he stared into my eyes.
"You're so beautiful." He whispered.
"So beautiful." He pecked my lips.
Oh so I'm beautiful because I'm blonde? Does he have a type now?
I knew he would react like this. Ugh!After eating dinner, Nathan did the dishes and I took that as an opportunity to go through his phone.
I saw the text messages and a gasp left my lips.
There's no way he's telling her all these things. The things he use to tell me.Scrolling up further I saw a message stating that they're planning to go Paris for a week. Well fuck me! They would be leaving in two days.
This is absolutely disgusting! The nerve of this man.
I placed his phone down when I heard his footsteps.
"I'll be in the study, I've got work to do." He said and I nodded.
And they say lawyers have lots of work to do. Does that include cheating?
I went on my laptop and checked out the flights to Paris.
Great! I could still book a flight!
He wanted to go low then I'm going lower. I know where he is going to take her. It's to his favorite sites and towns to visit in Paris.
After I was done using my laptop. I made a cup of chamomile tea and carried it to Nathan.
I placed it infront of him and he looked up at me and smiled.
"Thank you baby."
"Hey I was thinking, maybe we should go to New York this weekend. Wouldn't that be fun? We haven't traveled in a while." I said. I wanted to see who he would choose. His wife or that woman?
"Oh baby, I would love to but I forgot to tell you that I have a trip coming up in two days. There's a convention I have to attend."
"Can I come with you?"
"I'm afraid not. Only people from my department can come."
"How long will you be gone?"
"Probably a week."
"So I'm gonna have to miss you for a week." I pouted but on the inside I was fuming.
"I'm sorry baby. I should have told you sooner."
"It's alright."
Oh Nathan Taylor. You can run but you can't fucking hide.
Being a mom was an entirely new experience. The sleepless nights, the constant worry, the overwhelming love — no one could’ve prepared me for the way my heart shifted the moment Ayla was born. Suddenly, everything revolved around her: when she ate, how she slept, the sound of every cry. My body still ached, and my emotions were all over the place, but one look at her tiny face, and I knew I’d go through it all again a thousand times.Alex had been incredible — patient, loving, attentive. He never treated her like someone else’s child. And even though our situation was complicated, our little girl had more love than she could ever need.Motherhood wasn’t easy. But it was mine now. And I was ready. Before I knew it, she was already six months babbling and cooing as her beautiful eyes gazed up at me. Where did the time go?“Are you
I found Nathan in the hospital garden, sitting alone with his elbows on his knees, eyes locked on the ground. He looked up when he heard my footsteps. "Annette," he said, standing slowly. His eyes darted to the tiny bundle in my arms. "She's okay," I said softly. "We both are." We stood there for a beat, the tension thick. "Can I…?" He motioned toward the baby. I hesitated. Then, with a quiet breath, I nodded and gently placed her in his arms. Nathan looked down at her, emotion flickering in his eyes. "She’s perfect." "She doesn’t have a name yet," I murmured. He looked up at me. “You’re giving me a chance to be here for her?” “She is your child too.” We stood quietly, the baby letting out a soft coo in his arms. “I never wanted to hurt you,” Nathan said. “What I did… it was selfish. Stupid. Looking at her now I realized what we could have had and I ruined it.” He said bitterly. I nodded. “But we’re past that now.“ “I know. She looks so much like you.” He smiled. “Y
I clutched Alex's hand like a lifeline, my nails digging into his skin as another contraction ripped through me. My breathing came in shallow gasps, and all I could think was—this baby is not waiting. “I can’t—Alex, I can’t do this,” I sobbed, my voice shaking. “Yes, you can. Look at me, baby,” he said, kneeling beside me, brushing the damp strands of hair from my face. “You are the strongest woman I know. Breathe with me.” The beach crowd was thinning as people noticed something was wrong. A few strangers hovered nearby, offering help, but Paige waved them off as she kept me shaded under an umbrella. “Where’s the damn ambulance?” Tiffany growled into the phone. “We’re at Bayview Shore—*yes*, she’s in active labor!” “I don’t think we’re going to make it to the hospital,” Paige whispered, panic flickering in her eyes. “What do you mean we’re not—” I didn’t even finish before another wave of pain hit me, and this time, I screamed. Alex turned ghost-pale. “Baby… do you feel pressu
Life has been really good to me lately. Alex and I were perfect together. Paige, Tiffany and I went out often and Nathan was respectful whenever we spoke. I couldn’t complain. Days had turned to weeks and before I knew it, I was ready to pop my baby out. Well almost ready. It’s been a long time since I found out I was pregnant and the time had seemed so far since then. I couldn’t wait to meet my baby, to hold him or her and give them the best life that I could. I wanted to wait until I have birth to know the gender. I always wanted children and now I got the opportunity to have my own little bundle of joy. “Hey sexy mama,” Alex greeted as he plopped down on the bed. “Hey baby,” I pecked his lips. “I was thinking that we should have a beach day, today,” I suggested and he raised a brow. “You’re heavily pregnant. I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he said and I rolled my eyes. “Firstly, I’m pregnant, not disabled and secondly, the baby is due in a week.” “I really don’
I knew what I had to do now. I wanted Alex to feel better. I wanted him to know that he could trust me with his feelings and emotions. The morning of the anniversary, I woke up before Alex and collected a bouquet of fresh, beautiful flowers I had ordered. Ruth said that Alex would always buy Brianna pink carnations. Those were her favorite flowers. The night before, I had already prepared a picnic basket. Then I went and added a few more things this morning. When I arrived home, Alex had already taken a shower and was eating the breakfast I had made before I left. “Good morning, Annie,” he said.“Good morning Alex.”“Where did you go?” He asked. “I got these,” I showed him a bouquet of flowers and his eyes widened. “Annie……what are you doing?” He avoided eye contact and dropped his fork. “I’m here with you. I want you to talk to me. This time around is a little tougher but I want to be here for you. Please let me in. It’s not always okay to handle these things alone. Trust me.”
After everything with Nathan and the drama with Paige and Alex, everything became calm. Alex and I returned to our usual routine of being in love with each other. There was something that was bothering Alex and I keep feeling like we were about to have another issue. I asked him a couple of times but he kept telling me that he was fine. I didn’t buy it. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what the problem was but I needed to find out. I couldn’t keep asking him so I decided to do the next best thing. It was high time I paid his parents a visit. I got into the car and drove over to their home. I knew Alex wasn’t very close to his parents but maybe they knew something. A few moments after knocking on the door, it opened. A woman opened the door, she looked exactly like Alex and immediately I knew it was his mom. “Hi you must be Annette. Please come in.” She smiled. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” I greeted. “You’re just glowing with this pregnancy. Congratulations. It’s a shame when mar
