Sophia's POV

"Sophia hi." Owen greeted us as he joined us at our desk for lunch. "Skylar." Skylar waved at him acknowledging his presence.

"Hi Owen." I smiled awkwardly. Earlier when I had a class with them, I had purposely forced myself to not look toward their way as I found myself a new place to sit.

"I really want to be upset with you right now, but I can't even bring myself to do that." Owen complained.

"I am sorry." I apologized. I know I probably owed them an explanation but I can't even think of a good excuse to tell them. I can't possibly tell him I left because of my unusual crush on his friend.

I spent the whole weekend researching and googling about my symptoms, I find it weird to call my feelings love since it had occurred from the very first time I laid eyes on him.

"Did we do anything wrong?" Owen asked and I shook my head. They were all kind to me. "Then why did you request for a change in your timetable? If it wasn't us, was it anyone in those classes that made you want to leave?" Biting my lips, I hope he would just shrug and let it go. I had expected them to question my decision and now that he is doing that, I realized just how unprepared I am for this moment.

Looking towards the others, Wyatt and Caius were looking toward our table but Alexios was staring at his plate of food. "They are just as curious too. But they do not want you feeling cornered so they didn't come over." I heard Owen say. I looked away from them and looked down.

Maybe I was too hasty in my decision.

"She felt the subjects were too much for her to handle. I mean who leaves mathematics class and head in for Physics class? Geniuses like yourself maybe, but it was too much for her." Skylar had been quiet, hearing her words made me give her a grateful smile. That had been the same excuse I gave dad, but I found it hard to tell Owen that.

"I see." Owen didn't look convinced but I am glad he stopped pushing and quietly sipped his drink. "Why then did you not sit with us earlier?" He asked another hard to answer question and I could only sigh.

He suddenly laughed, "So cute." Weirdly, I felt my cheeks getting warm. Did he guess my reason?

"Let's just eat, lunch hour will soon be over." I told him glaring playfully.

"Please sit with us whenever we have class together. You had us all worried and on the edge." Instinctively, I looked towards them again and my eyes caught his.

"Okay." I answered and continued eating quietly. It won't hurt to have him seated next to me when we have classes together right?

Alexios POV

I was uncertain whether I am to punish Owen for going against my order or to reward him for making her promise to sit with us.

"When will you be sorting out the issue with that bit*h?" Caius asked through the mind link and I too looked at Wyatt. He had promised to resolve this earlier.

"After school today. I will sort it out." Once more he vowed looking straight at me.

I glanced in the direction of the ladies whose bones my wolf wish to break into pieces. Kierie who must have been watching me quickly looked away.

Kierie is the youngest child and only daughter of Captain Perrie. A trusted and loyal subject of the pack, Kierie had once confessed her feelings to me through a note I found in my locker. Knowing she is friends with Vivian made me disappointed. Captain Perrie does not deserve such a foolish daughter.

"Don't kill them." I told Wyatt who smirked in response. I have no idea how he intends to deal with the situation but I do not want a situation whereby I will be responsible for Captain Perrie's grief.

Her scent became even more dense, I didn't need to look up to know she was walking towards us. It was a scent I cannot describe, every human, or werewolf has a unique scent to themselves. Each werewolf when they meet their mate, there is this scent that emits off their mate that no other wolves can perceive. And that scent is enough to leave their wolves in heat and growling for their mates' company.

"Hey guys." Her small yet melodious voice greeted. I could do anything just to hear her speak. Not only is her voice lovely to listen to, but it is also calming.

"Hey..." Wyatt, Caius, and myself responded.

"I wanted to say hi to you and uhm, to say sorry for my actions earlier." Her act of biting her lips when nervous or embarrassed is something I find both cute and torturing. I wish to be the one biting those lips instead.

"You don't have to apologize. It is fine to not want to sit with us." Caius answered with a casual smile.

"Don't push it. Can't you see she is trying to apologize?" I warned through our mind link.

"It is not that I don't want to sit with you all, I was... I am sorry okay." She apologized again still biting her lips. I just hope she won't hurt herself one day.

"Won't you hurt yourself if you continue biting?" I asked in what I hoped to be a teasing tone.

Blushing, "No... No I won't." She answered shyly.

"We need to go now." Skylar hooked her arms with Sophia and led her away. They both looked like they will soon start running.

"Where are they going?" Asked Owen as Kierie and her friends also walked out immediately after Sophia left the lunch room.

Going after them, "Kierie!!" I called her to a stop through the pack link. Communicating through the mind has to be the best part of being born a werewolf.

The pack has a link whereby I can talk to anyone in the pack as long as we are at a certain distance. Every family has their special link too where they can talk to themselves without anyone interrupting except the Alpha. Although rarely, the Alpha can intrude into a pack member's thoughts, this act is mostly used during interrogations, and it also helps the Alpha keep track of the pack member's emotions. Some links can be created among friends, this way their conversation stays among them. They can also use the pack's link and talk to a member without the whole pack listening in, this way he will have to direct their thoughts toward the pack member to whom he wants to talk to.

"Where are you going?" I asked unable to hold back the anger brewing inside of me.

"Is she truly your mate? Why will the Moon goddess pair you with a human? Could there have been a mistake?" Kierie asked her eyes teary.

Ignoring her foolish question, "Approach her and that will be the last thing you ever do in your life." I warned before walking past them.

Wyatt POV

Watching Alexios walk away, it was obvious he is holding down his anger.

"Forfeit the next class and follow me." I told the ladies as I turned and walked outside the school heading to the forest. I wasn't worried that they might not follow me.

Seeing me stop, they all hastily stopped.

"Beta junior, is everything okay?" Kierie asked.

Looking at Vivian, "You dared to threaten the future Luna and harm her friend." She shivered and knelt.

"It is a misunderstanding. I didn't know she was mated to the Alpha junior and thought she was only pushing herself into his arm, and besides earlier, my conversation with the other lady had been because she bumped in on me.

"Bumped into you..." I repeated.

"Yes beta junior." Smirking, I turned to the brown head.

"Slap her." I ordered.

"What?!" She exclaimed.

"Should I show you?" I asked with a raised brow and she quickly shook her head as she stepped before Vivian and slapped her.

"Was that meant to be for practice?" I questioned.

"I am sorry Beta junior" Vivian apologized. The brown head girl, Summer gave her another resounding slap, it was obvious she exerted more strength into this slap than the previous one.

Turning to Stacy, "Slap her." I ordered.

Stacy hastily walked forward and gave Vivian a much more resounding slap. Looking in my direction, I stayed quiet so she went ahead and slapped her other cheek just as ruthlessly.

"I believe it is your turn Kierie." I told Kierie who was glaring hatefully at the floor. With no choice, Kierie walked forward and slapped Vivian twice. Both slaps had Vivian moaning in pain. She held her cheeks as she cried quietly.

"Now slap them all Vivian." They all swiftly looked at me, as Vivian stood up and strike their cheeks twice.

"You were supposed to strike them once but twice is good too." I told them smiling, I loved this punishment. "The next time this situation occurs, you won't be slapping yourself then, trust me you won't like to know what will happen either. And you Kierie, be careful with the words that come off your mouth, or else not even the captain will be able to save your neck." It wasn't meant to have been a warning, I had only wanted to advise her.

"But I love him! You don't have a sister, and neither does the gamma family have a female. I should be the one mated to the young Alpha! Not some human girl. There must have been a mistake!"

"Mating has never been decided by the pack's hierarchy. You have a mate somewhere waiting to meet you one day. Alexios is not yours to claim or wait for Kierie." I walked away not ready to be a part of her emotional rollercoaster conversation.

It is common knowledge among werewolves to not give out their heart except if it is to their mate, yet she foolishly did that even when Alexios ignored her very existence.
