|| ELINDA's POV ||

Mona jumped up in shock, her voice trembling,

" What.. what do you want from me, Princess?"

She could pretty much guess I was going to ask something forbidden. I gave her a sheepish smile, my words turning sweet as much as possible,

" Just for two days! I need to get out of here,Mona. I want to travel in Kanada."

Mona moved on the other side of the room in a record time. She kept shaking her head without hearing any explanation,

" No..No...No way, Princess. Alpha Don has strictly told me to accompany you. You aren't allowed to leave the Island."

A frustrated growl left my lips. I was expecting the same reaction from her. Standing on my feet, I used her own words to manipulate her. I placed my hands on her shoulder, showing a friendly gesture to ease her,

" Mona, I have a second plan as well. You promised your Don not to leave my side, right? Why don't you go with me then? I promise that we will come back in two days. Please Mona. Let me fulfill my dream. You are a g

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 150

    Chapter 150|| Elinda's POV ||I hadn't the slightest idea what I was getting myself into.The air was heavy with tension as I drove deeper and deeper into the unknown location. I had followed Kai's instructions on blind faith, too eager to find Alexis.Now, however, with my feet on the edge of what seemed like a world out of time, I could feel the weight of my decisions crushing me.The place was deserted. The trees surrounding me were dead, as if they had been drained of life years ago. I tried calling Kai, but the phone was useless—no signal, nothing. It felt like I was being led further into a trap and there was no way out.A shiver ran down my spine as I surveyed the area, suddenly understanding the full measure of isolation. I was taken away from the town, taken away from Alexis, and had no idea where I was. The mansion Kai had mentioned loomed before me. The structure appeared not to have been used in years. For an instant, I did not move, my feet stuck to the floor. Something

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 149

    Chapter 149|| Clara's POV ||My body trembled under the weight of my own body, every nerve burned with a flame I could not escape. Not only the physical discomfort of the cycle of heat—it was the pain, the intolerable within me from him. From Alberto.He was my friend. My other half. And he had left with another. I could feel the bond straining, tearing itself apart like flesh ripping gradually, agonizingly. I curled up into a ball on the guest room's cold white marble floor, trying desperately to mute the scream building inside me.I have no idea how long I remained there—hours, maybe, or merely a few minutes—but the heat only intensified. The pain curled through my stomach like needles and fire, and my wolf whimpered in agony, denied the bond she had once accepted in.Tears soaked the pillow beneath my head. My breathing was in shallow gasps as the world whirled and blurred. My mind wouldn't remain with me anymore. Just him. Only the sight of him with his hand on hers, the glint of

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 148

    Chapter 148|| Elinda's POV ||The night had started out so promising, but now here I was, walking hastily through the ballroom of the party, my heart pounding in my chest. The icy stares of the reporters, who had previously been so fascinated by each step I took, now stabbed at me like dagger into my heart. They hated me. They implied me as nothing but a puppet, dancing to the command of the Mafia. And their words, their voices, running in my head, erasing the rich tune that hummed in the background.I had barely been able to force a smile for a few photographs, but I felt the weight of their judgment bearing down on me like a thousand-pound boulder on my shoulders. The longer the night went on, the more tension started to build up. It was as if the whole room was against me. I couldn't escape the whispers. They called me a traitor.I had done my best to pretend that it didn't exist, to smile and take it all in stride, but it was becoming too much. The air was heavy. I felt trapped

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 147

    Chapter 147|| Alexis's POV ||It felt like I had only returned to the pack house and the storm was already at hand.I stepped into the house, the silence of the house almost suffocating as I walked through the halls. My mind was still whirling with what I had told the Mafia Pack leader, and the anger of the fight with my grandfather had not even begun to wear off. It was all too much to tolerate.As I walked towards the living room, I saw him there—Grandfather. The man who had brought me up, shaped me into the person I was, but also the man who always assumed to know what was good for me, even when he did not. His stiff posture, the tension in his shoulders, and the chill in his eyes said it all. He was waiting for me, as always, to hear his judgment.I didn't even have to utter a word before he began. His voice cut through the silence like a knife. "You're ruining yourself."My rage flared, but I kept myself in check. I couldn't afford to lose it—now. "What in the world are you talk

    Chapter 146|| ELINDA's POV ||The moment I stepped out of the hidden passage after killing them, the cold night air in my throat.Mercus was already at the car. Moonlight streamed across the hood when he quietly flung open the back door. He looked at the boy—indeed looked at him—and nodded once silently at me.All the way through the drive, the boy huddled against me, his hands grasping my cloak in a tight hold. I went on talking softly, again and again, of safety, of mothers waiting, fires and soup and warm blankets. He never uttered a word. But when I looked down, I could see that a single tear slid silently down his cheek. When we finally reached the safehouse, the world seemed to hold its breath.And then the door swung open, and the healer stumbled out. Her veil was displaced, and her hair was all in a messy knot, but none of it mattered. She looked at her son in my arms, and time stopped for her.She collapsed at our feet, sobbing, gulping. "My baby," she cried, holding him t

    CHAPTER 145|| ALBERTO'S POV ||I did not expected it.The day started just like any other. The office was bustling with activity, a buzz of emails and documents competing for attention. But all that couldn't prepare me for what happened next.Catherine's parents came rushing into my study, their expressions morphed with frustration and worry. My mother walked beside them, her posture straight, as if she already expected what was to come. I stood up, sensing the air was heavy with tension, and stepped forward."What is it?" I inquired, trying to ignore the confusion that hung around me.Mrs. Bennett's voice trembled when she talked. "Catherine is sick, Alberto. She fainted at work today. The doctor told us it's stress. But this has been going on for quite some time now. She has not been eating. She's barely been sleeping. All of this because of those pictures."I stood there in shock. The photographs. The scandal. The rumors that had been going around us for weeks. I could already sen
