Alina´s POV

"My back burns like it's on fire. If someone had told me some time ago that I would be in this kind of pain, I would never have believed it. Now, chained in this dungeon amidst my own blood and vomit, I wonder how I got here. How can a man who claims to love me do this to me?

Today is one of those busy days for me—the day to con yet another poor guy who's taken an interest in Samia. Lucky for her, since she keeps such a private life, they barely know her face at those dances she complains about, the ones her father forces her to attend. But that’s the deal. I have to help a friend, especially when she pays me ten grand a date.

Something feels different today, though. A weight sits heavy on my chest. I pop one of my pills, hoping for quick relief from my anxiety. In the meantime, I gather my long brown hair into a ponytail, swipe on a light shade of eyeshadow to highlight my brown eyes, and apply a rosé lipstick that enhances my lips. The black dress I slip into falls just below my knees, hugging my figure with a discreet V-neckline.

The restaurant’s black façade glows under the lights, creating a striking contrast that screams exclusivity. Inside, an impeccably dressed host greets me and leads me to a table bathed in soft, strategic light. He offers me water, which I gladly accept—I need to calm my nerves.

The ambiance is refined. Wooden walls adorned with minimalist paintings, fresh flowers scenting the air, plush velvet chairs, and crisp white tablecloths. The soft hum of jazz plays in the background. Samia is lucky, I think, trying to steady myself.

A voice slices through my thoughts. "That perfume of yours isn’t fooling anyone, hybrid."

My body locks up, the water catching in my throat as a man slides into the seat across from me. His brown eyes fix on mine, unwavering. I try to maintain my composure, but there’s something in his gaze—something that strips away my defenses.

He has that effortless, dangerous charm. Tall, easily over six feet. Lean but muscular. His dark brown hair is neatly styled, his features sharp and commanding.

"Good evening," he says, voice smooth but edged with something else. "I’m Alpha Marco, and you’re not Samia, Alpha Noah’s daughter. But tell me—do you think you can play games with Alphas and walk away unscathed, hybrid? Don’t you know what happens to those who try?"

The amusement in his tone unnerves me almost as much as his words. My pulse kicks up.

"I’m sorry," I murmur, pushing up from my chair, desperate to leave. But his voice halts me.

"Sit down. I didn’t say you could go."

His smile is small, knowing. Reluctantly, I lower myself back into my seat.

"Look, I was just... helping a friend. I’m not a threat to you or your pack. I swear, you’ll never see me again." My voice wavers, my hands curling into fists beneath the table.

He watches me, savoring my discomfort. My stomach churns, fear tightening around me like a vice.

"No, you’re not a threat," he says, voice dropping to a near whisper. "But you’re something far worse."

My brow furrows. "Worse? I don’t know what you’re talking about. And why do you even care? I’m just... nobody." I emphasize the last word, hoping to distance myself from whatever game this is.

He leans in, his breath warm against my skin. "You may believe that, but I don’t. What you carry, hybrid, is rare. Valuable. Too precious to be left unprotected. That’s why I’m offering you protection."

My heart stutters. "Protection? From what? No one is after me."

A smirk tugs at his lips. "Not yet. But you should be protecting yourself... from me. Because right now, the only thing stopping me from taking what I want is my patience. And patience isn’t something I’m known for when it comes to liars. Do you understand?"

I swallow hard. "I don’t have anything of value. I’m just trying to survive."

His amusement fades. "I can’t do much about Samia’s betrayal. She’s an Alpha’s daughter, which shields her under rules that don’t apply to you." His gaze sharpens. "But you? You have no pack. You live alone on Lis Vill Street, tucked away in some ordinary district. No family, no one to come looking for you. If I wanted to, I could do anything I pleased, and no one would even ask questions."

A chill spreads through me. How does he know so much about me? My fingers tighten around my bag, every instinct screaming at me to run. But as I rise, I feel his eyes pressing into my back.

"Sit down," he commands, voice deceptively calm. "I’m not done with you yet."

Trembling, I obey.

"Tell me, what exactly were you thinking, pretending to be an Alpha’s daughter?" He leans back, observing me like a predator biding its time.

"I told you. I was helping a friend. It was just a harmless setup," I say, but even I don’t believe my own words.

"Harmless?" He lets out a short, humorless chuckle. "You really have no idea what you’ve stepped into, do you?" He shakes his head, eyes darkening. "There are others who would kill to get their hands on a hybrid like you. I, at least, am giving you a choice."

A choice? It doesn’t feel like I have one. "And what exactly are you offering me?"

"Loyalty. Protection. A chance to stay alive. All you have to do is come with me."

A cold shiver runs down my spine. "And if I refuse?"

His smirk returns, slow and deliberate. "Then I’ll give you a head start before the others find you. But we both know you wouldn’t get far."

I grip the edges of the table, my mind spinning. This is a trap. A game where I’m already the losing piece. My pulse pounds in my ears as I realize: no matter what I choose, my life will never be the same again.

POV SâmiaI wake up being shaken violently by my brother. My mind is still clouded by sleep, and my body reacts instinctively, trying to push him away.- What's all this John? - I exclaim, pushing his hands away. - Get your hands off me, damn it!- What the hell do you think you're doing Samia, have you lost your mind? - John growls, his voice laced with irritation. - You're not answering any of my calls! The world is crashing down on our heads, and you don't even care! You're irresponsible!Blinking a few times to dispel the numbness of sleep, I let out an exasperated sigh.- What have I done now, for God's sake? I told you I was going for a girls' weekend. There's no mystery here, just fun! - I retort, trying to stay calm.- Dad doesn't think so. He doesn't care about this girls' weekend nonsense. You have to go home. Now. - His eyes shine with frustration, and his hands clench into fists at his sides. My pulse quickens, we're not doing anything wrong or inappropriate here, not that

  • Hybrid: Between Alphas and Secrets    Laments At The Border

POV Alpha Marco The smell of dried blood wakes me up. My mouth is bitter, my skin is sticky, my head is throbbing. My eyes open to the darkness of the forest, the twisted branches above me moving in the wind. I should have known this would happen. But now? What should I do now? I sit down slowly, trying to organize my thoughts. My chest rises and falls with difficulty, my breathing heavy, uneven. Something inside me still pulses erratically, like an echo of what happened. The smell around me is thick. Iron, flesh. My eyes go down, and then I see. Remains. The muscles in my jaw tighten. My throat tightens. I can't stay here. I can't leave this in plain sight. I think quickly. The cave. It's only a few minutes away and it's forbidden to anyone who isn't directly connected to me or part of the guard. There, at least for the time being, no one will find... this. I swallow and force myself to act, brutally pulling the remains out of the ground. The smell spreads, impregnating my nos

John's POVI've been trying to talk to this irresponsible girl I call my sister for over four hours. If Dad finds out she's out there, and I'm not even sure where exactly, he'll break up with me.And, as if the universe heard my thoughts, here he comes:- Good morning. Where's your sister? I need to talk to her.My father's firm, authoritative voice hits me like a punch in the stomach. I swallow and try to stay calm.- Good morning, Dad. I hope you had a comfortable trip,” I reply, aiming for a cordial tone as my mind works frantically to come up with a convincing response.- Sâmia is at our country house with a colleague. They're having a... girls' weekend. He frowns.- Girls' weekend? - he repeats, as if testing the words, measuring them. - So tell me, John, two she-wolves are alone in our country house, unaccompanied. And you, who should be ensuring your sister's safety, are here, doing nothing? Is that what I understand?I feel his gaze burning into me.- Well, actually... I was a

  • Hybrid: Between Alphas and Secrets   The Storm Within Us

Dila´s POVChaos reigned around me. If I hadn't seen it all with my own eyes, I could have sworn that a wild wolf had come through here, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. But no, the devastation had another origin.Marco, an Alpha with lycan blood, had completely lost control. At the moment, we were talking - or at least trying to - and in the next instant, his eyes turned black as night, and he simply exploded. He moved like a raging storm, smashing everything in his path before disappearing into the forest.I took a deep breath, trying not to get carried away by the chaotic scene. I knew I had to act fast. So I ignored the damage around me and focused on what I did best: magic. This time, I needed something specific, something powerful. A body domination spell.I sat down in the center of the destroyed hut, surrounded by debris, and began to mutter the incantation. My mind focused on her. So strong and yet so fragile... In the state she was in, finding a breach in her subc

  • Hybrid: Between Alphas and Secrets   Silent Crackle

Alina's POVI was woken up by Samia's nudge. Since meeting Alfa, this was the only time I'd actually been able to get some rest. My mind is racing and my body seems to be at its limit. Through the car's rearview mirror, I can see the deep circles under my eyes and my reddened eyes. I'm a wreck, almost vegetating. - Aren't you coming? - says Sâmia. I just nod, trying to get out of the car seat. I'm really exhausted. - Are you hungry? - Sâmia asks. - No, I'm not. - I answer straight away. - You need to eat a bit, you look pale. Have you lost weight? I don't know. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate. But in the state I'm in, I won't be able to eat anything. - I blurt out, feeling my eyes water. She walks over to me and hugs me. - Come on, Lina. - Hold on. - I say suddenly. - What about the body? My moon goddess... it's a lot to process. - Here's what we're going to do - Samia runs her hands over her head, thoughtfully. - I'm sure that somewhere in the warehouse there

  • Hybrid: Between Alphas and Secrets   Shadows In The Darkness

Josh´s POVThe pain still pulsed through my body, every bruise a reminder of Alpha Marco's fury. He had shown no mercy. I knew my mistake was unforgivable. Losing sight of Alina, allowing her to attack me... But even with all the training I'd had at the Alpha's side, something in her made me pull back. It wasn't a simple instinct for self-preservation - it was something bigger, something I couldn't describe. My legs could barely support me when I finally made it out of the dungeon. Every step was a torment. My body struggled to recover, but the pain was profound. I leaned against the cold wall for a moment, breathing hard. I couldn't show weakness, I couldn't afford to succumb to the pain. After a few minutes, I gathered my strength and headed for my room. The hot steam from the bath relaxed my muscles, but it didn't dispel the revolt. How could I have feared a hybrid? My mind tried to justify my reaction, but the answer lay in the memory of her eyes. They were the Alpha's eyes. That
