CHAPTER 5: Alpha Garmon

ASHLEIGH'S P.O.V

I couldn't even sleep, the cold blow of air that was coming from the window of the cabin's making me want to wreck it away.

I realized that it's been an hour since I tried to go on and sleep, however I really can't do it. I just don't want to go outside at this hour, it will surely disturb my sister's rest.

I smirked and took a gaze at Vanessa, I knew she was already sleeping. She likes complaining about this place but in reality, she was more comfortable with this than me and Ivory.

Ivory, I don't know if she was already sleeping. Though she was by my side I can't tell if she was really sleeping in that position. Her arms were crossed and she's laying down in the bed with a straight body. This is really her position whenever she's asleep. It's like I just need to get her a coffin for her own peace.

I smiled and closed my eyes instead. I am wishing to get a good night's sleep in 10 minutes. However, it's only been 5 minutes since I did it when I felt someone carefully standing. I just let her pass and waited for a minute before opening my eyes and then there's Ivory who was silently looking at the hole.

Is there someone here except us?

I was about to get up and asked her but seeing her serious face, it will just ruin her plan so I remained in my position and just observed her every move.

I saw her take a gun and positioned herself, after that she carefully walked outside. There are two doors in the cabin, and she went to the side where there's a big tree.

The moment she was out of my sight, I carefully sat down on the bed and tried to wake up Vanessa. She glared at me when she finally opened her eyes, however I gestured to her to stay silent. She was confused at first but when she saw that there was no Ivory in the room she looked around and gave me her questioning face.

"She's outside," I whispered. I can hear some voices but it's not clear. However, I can feel the presence of three people outside the cabin.

"What is she doing there?" she asked, can't still take the information because she's still sleepy.

"Don't ask, let's just wait."

A minute more, I decided to stand up to look for her. I am not worried about her because I am certain she can handle some enemies if ever.

I was about to take a step when the door opened. I finally saw Ivory so I gave her a frown, however it changed when I saw Jake on her back. He got a lot of bruises, I wonder what happened to him.

A second of silence, the temperature in the cabin rose. I can feel someone's up to them. And I am not mistaken, I knew Vanessa saw that too. There was a creature coming to both of them, it was running fast, a wolf. I immediately took my weapon, ready to fight.

"On your back!" Vanessa shouted, Ivory quickly got that and positioned her gun once she turned her back.

"Halt!" A voice roared all over the place. It was a powerful one, that you will surely follow. The wolf was like an ice that it stopped and didn't move a bit when it heard the voice.

We stood straight and looked at the person who shouted. The wolf stepped back when that person was already in front of him. With the help of the moonlight, we finally saw his face.

"Grandpa," Ivory uttered.

It was Grandpa who managed to stop the wolf from attacking.

"What are you doing, Nelxus? Scaring my granddaughters?" He asked, his voice was so frigid.

The wolf began to transform into a human form. It was a man, maybe at our age. He has black hair and not so brown skin. His figure alone will say that he is strong.

"Oh." I heard Vanessa whisper. I know she likes what she is seeing right now, a topless man. I rolled my eyes because of it and focused on the two men in front of us.

"My apologies, Alpha Garmon. I thought that man had a bad intention to the ladies." Nelxus said and kneel down. So he was the other presence I felt a while ago?

"Stand up, and go back to your cabin." Grandpa ordered. Nexus looked at Jake first before running away from us.

"Grandpa." Ivory called him again, he turned his body to us and walked towards us.

"I am sorry you need to experience that. Nelxus is a bit reckless sometimes," Grandpa said.

I smiled when he was finally in front of us.

"It was nice to see you all here, my princesses. And who is the guy here?" he asked, looking at Jake who was now bowing his head.

"I am Jake, Sir! The one who guided them here. I want to apologize because of what happened. I secretly went inside your base to make sure they are safe. Forgive me for what I have done." Jake told him, and remained bowing his head.

Grandpa laughed and patted his shoulder.

Idiot, why does he need to tell us he was just making sure we are safe? He's not our baby sister. I think I need to add this guy on my blacklist.

"It's okay son. I know who you are, don't be afraid. And for you my granddaughters, I am happy to see you here. It's my pleasure to make sure you are all doing well and safe here."

Grandpa told us to go inside the cabin. He then takes Jake with him to cure his bruises. Whatever, I wouldn't be able to sleep again at this state so better think of something that will interest me. I miss my gadgets, dad didn't let me take something I can play with.

"The rogues attacked him on his way back." Ivory stated.

"Rogues?" Vanessa asked. Ivory nodded in return and stared straight. "Oh, I have really no interest in them."

"I know who you are interested in," I said, smirking. She chuckled and winked at me after.

I knew it. This girl is so hardheaded, it will surely annoy Auntie once she knows this. We didn't even know who's that Nelxus is.

"Many of them were residing in different corners of the mountains. I think Grandma will let us go there, that's why she said for us to prepare." What Ivory said made me frown. We will face the Rouges? Cool.

"Well, just do it. I want to finish whatever task we need to do here. I am dying to feel my bed now. This cabin is so cursed." Vanessa mumbled.

"Really? But as far as I remember, you are just the only one who slept here," I said. She then rolled her eyes and glared at me. I am just telling the truth, Ivory and I didn't even have a good night's sleep.

"Psh. I am just acting, actually," she retorted. I just laughed at her, I don't want to talk anymore. I am not in the mood and feel sleepy, however I just can't.

"By the way, how did Jake manage to get out of them? The rogues," I asked Ivory who's now closing her eyes.

Did this girl already sleep since the other day? I guess not.

"Scape." I thought she wouldn't answer my question, but after a few minutes of her silence she already talked.

I wonder what they were doing to him now.
