Cassia’s Pov

“You wanted to try them out, remember?”

I was amazed that he actually remembered and got both of them for me.

Didn’t expect him to take my snarky comment, the other day, seriously.

“I’ll have the Meringin then. I love the apple scent it has.”

He grinned at my remark and poured it for me. “Good choice. It’s a mild one and would go perfectly with your meal.”

Almost a glass in, I couldn’t control my tongue. I kept giggling at everything he said or did.

Reaching for the bottle of wine to fill my glass again, he said, “That’s enough, Issa. You’re already drunk.”

“I’m not drunk, just… woozy.” He collected the bottle from me. “Noooo, but you- you are on your third glass.”

“Not enough to make me tipsy.”

Remembering something, I blurted, “Who’s Issa? You keep calling me that. Was she your lover?…” I gasped in realization. “Is she your lover? Like current?” I whispered. Am I eating and laughing with another woman’s man?
