NYRA'S POV

God, I felt nothing at all.

Richard was on top of me again, grunting and sweating like a desperate pig. Same lifeless rhythm… in and out, in and out, like he was checking off a chore.

My silk nightie was bunched up around my waist, legs spread from pure muscle memory after three years of this bullshit. I stared at the ceiling fan spinning lazily above us. One… two… three…

My pussy was dry as bone, completely checked out.

Then my brain betrayed me, like it always did. I squeezed my eyes shut and replaced him with Luca. Those dark, hungry eyes staring down at me. His rough voice growling right in my ear, “Shut the fuck up and take it, Nyra.”

I pictured his big, strong hands pinning my wrists above my head, his thick cock stretching me open, slamming into me hard and deep like he owned every inch of my body.

Heat exploded between my legs, and my back arched off the bed for real this time. A real, filthy moan ripped out of my throat.

In seconds I was soaked, dripping down my thighs, my pussy clenching desperately around Richard’s average dick while he kept pumping away like nothing had changed.

That did it for him, two more sloppy thrusts and he groaned loudly, shooting his weak load inside me before collapsing on my chest like a sack of bricks.

“Shit, Nyra,” he panted, rolling off me. “You could at least pretend you’re into it. You used to be way hornier. It feels like I’m fucking a dead pillow lately.”

I forced a fake smile. “Sorry, babe, long day.”

He didn’t even look at me, just scratched his hairy ass and shuffled to the bathroom.

While he was gone, I spotted the bright red lipstick smear on his suit jacket collar, it was not my shade. It should’ve pissed me off, gotten me mad, but it didn’t. Our marriage was already dead and rotting.

He came back yawning. “Night.” Turned his back and started snoring like a truck in under two minutes.

I lay there in the dark, my thighs sticky with his cum, my clit still throbbing painfully from the fantasy. My pussy was aching, wet and empty, screaming for something rough and real.

Something I knew I’d never get from him.

My phone buzzed on the nightstand.

Mom: Come home for dinner tomorrow night baby, something important. 7pm sharp. Don’t be late.

The next evening, right before I left the house, Richard brought it up.

He was standing in front of the mirror, loosening his tie, when he glanced at me.

“Babe, the company’s in deep shit, cash flow is completely fucked. We’ve got maybe two months before things get ugly.”

I froze halfway to the door, my stomach twisted.

Richard sighed and turned around. “Look, isn’t your stepbrother Luca some big-shot CEO? The guy’s loaded. You should reach out and ask him for help, he’s family, right?”

My cheeks burned instantly. Just hearing his name out loud made my pussy clench.

“We’re not close,” I said quickly. “He’s just my stepbrother.”

Richard rubbed the back of his neck, looking tired. “Still. He bought your mom that house and gave you the car when you came back from abroad. As your brother, he’ll probably take the request seriously.”

“Stepbrother,” I corrected, my voice sharper than I intended.

He gave a small shrug. “Just think about it, okay? We’re running out of options here.”

I didn’t answer. I just grabbed my keys and headed for the door.

Richard quickly grabbed his jacket. “I’ll go with you.”

I paused but didn’t argue. We drove to Mom’s house mostly in silence.

Seven years…seven years since that night. I’d told myself I was over it, I got married, I tried to build a normal life. Luca hadn’t even come to my wedding, and that should’ve killed it.

But it didn’t.

Mom hugged me tight the second I stepped inside. “Nyra! Everyone’s in the dining room, sweetie.” She turned to Richard with a warm smile. “Richard, good to see you. Come in, come in. Dinner is almost ready.”

George looked exhausted at the head of the table, and right next to him…

Luca.

My feet stopped dead, my pulse slammed in my throat.

He was thirty-four now and even hotter than I remembered…broader shoulders, sharper jaw, that commanding presence sucking all the air out of the room.

Black button-down stretched tight across his chest. The moment his eyes locked on mine, I quickly looked away, cheeks burning.

“Luca,” I breathed, voice shaky. “Didn’t know you were back.”

“Just got in today.” He stood up slowly, that dangerous half-smile on his lips. His voice was calm and polite.

We did the family hug, his strong arms pulled me in tight against him. One hand rested on my upper back, polite, but his fingers brushed the back of my neck for the briefest moment…maybe accidental.

I pulled away first, feeling awkward.

We sat down and mom jumped in. “George’s health got worse, Luca’s been running things from the other city but he’s back full time as CEO now.

He's staying in town for good, isn't that good news?”

His mom smiled across the table. “Weren’t you two close growing up? Thought he’d have told you already.”

My cheeks burned. Close. If they only fucking knew.

“We lost touch after I went abroad,” I mumbled. I stood up fast.

“Gotta wash my hands before dinner.”

I escaped to the guest bathroom and splashed cold water on my burning face. My hands were shaking.

You’re married, get a fucking grip, Nyra.

The door opened behind me, but I didn’t turn. I already knew.

The lock clicked shut.

Luca leaned against the door, watching me in the mirror with those dark, predatory eyes. The tiny bathroom suddenly felt way too small.

“So…” His voice came out low and rough, exactly like in my dirtiest fantasies. “How’s married life?”

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    OFFICE INTIMACY

NYRA'S POV I stayed late on purpose. Told Richard I had a deadline, which wasn't exactly a lie... the Henderson renewal paperwork actually did need finishing... but I could have finished it from my kitchen table just as easily, and some part of me knew that when I packed my bag that morning and told him not to wait up. The office had gone quiet by eight, most of the floor emptied out, just the hum of the building settling into itself and the occasional distant ding of an elevator nobody was riding. Luca's door was open. I found him at his desk, jacket off, sleeves rolled to the elbows, glasses pushed up into his hair the way they always ended up whenever he'd been reading too long. The low desk lamp threw warm light across the sharp line of his jaw and the open collar of his shirt. Something about the sight of him like that... unguarded, still working, waiting without looking like he was waiting... landed low in my stomach and stayed there. "You're still here," I said from the door

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    RICHARD'S DEBT DEEPENS

NYRA'S POV Richard came home late again, keys hitting the counter harder than they needed to, and I heard it from the kitchen where I was pretending to care about the pasta I was making, some habit of domestic normalcy I couldn't seem to let go of even now. The water had gone cloudy from too much salt. The sauce clung to the wooden spoon in thick, sticky threads. I kept stirring anyway, because if I stopped moving I would have to feel the full weight of the day still sitting under my skin. "Hey," he said, dropping his bag by the door. He looked wrong somehow, tie already loose, color gone out of his face in a way that had nothing to do with tiredness. The kitchen light caught the shine of sweat at his temples. His shoulders sat higher than usual, like he was bracing for something that had already happened. "Hey. Dinner's almost ready." "Not hungry." He went straight for the liquor cabinet instead, poured something amber two fingers deep, drank half of it standing at the counter be

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    NYRA'S JEALOUSY

NYRA'S POVI heard it in the break room, of all places, two of the junior associates by the coffee machine not bothering to lower their voices because they didn't know I was in the next aisle over, restocking printer paper for no reason except that I needed a task that didn't involve thinking."...I'm telling you, it's basically decided. My cousin works at Cole Foundation, she said Vanessa's already talked to a planner.""No way. Sterling? He seems way too closed off for that.""That's what everyone says, but apparently the families have been circling it for years. Something about the supply chain deal too, so it's not just romance, it's strategic. My cousin said the announcement's just waiting on the right moment. George's health, probably. They don't want it to look tacky.""God, imagine being that rich. Marrying for a supply chain."They laughed, easy, moved on to something about the vending machine being out of the good chips, and I stood frozen behind the shelf with a ream of pap

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    THE ARRANGEMENT

George called Luca into a private lunch two days later, and I only knew about it because Clara mentioned it in passing while restocking the coffee. Offhand, like it was nothing. “Big lunch with his dad today. Country club. Whole production.” It shouldn’t have made my stomach drop the way it did. But I’d learned enough by now to know that nothing in this family happened without a reason attached, and country club lunches with George didn’t get scheduled for small talk. Luca came back from it two hours later. Jaw tight. Tie loosened like he’d been fighting the knot the whole drive back. He went straight into his office without stopping at my desk the way he usually did. I gave him twenty minutes before I followed, coffee in hand as an excuse, and found him standing at the window with his hands braced against the sill. Shoulders set in a way I recognized from the plane, from the storm, from every moment he was holding something back by pure force. “That bad?” I asked, setting the coff

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    VANESSA INTRODUCED

She came in on a Wednesday, no appointment on the calendar, which should have been my first warning, because nobody walked onto this floor without Clara knowing about it three days in advance. I heard her before I saw her...the particular click of heels that meant money, unhurried, confident, the kind of walk that assumes doors open themselves. When I looked up from my desk, she was already past Clara’s station, Clara trailing a half-step behind with the look of a woman who’d tried to stop something and failed. “You must be Nyra.” Vanessa Cole was exactly what my mother’s voice had promised and somehow worse for being real. Tall. Composed. Dressed in something the color of good coffee that probably cost more than my monthly salary. Hair pulled back in a way that looked effortless and definitely wasn’t. She smiled at me, warm on the surface, and underneath it I felt the same assessment Marcus Webb had given me at dinner, quick and thorough and finished before I’d said a single word.

  • I AM MY STEPBROTHER'S OBSESSION    FAMILY DINNER

Mom’s texts had gotten more frequent since I started working for Luca. Little check-ins dressed up as nothing...how’s the new job, come by soon, miss your face. I’d been dodging most of them with excuses that weren’t quite lies, just not the whole truth either. Sunday dinner finally caught up with me. There’s only so many times you can say you’re busy before your own mother starts hearing it as something else. Richard begged off. Said the Webb thing again. It had started to feel less like an excuse and more like a whole second life he was living somewhere I wasn’t invited. I drove over alone, and some small, guilty part of me was relieved about that before I’d even parked. Luca’s car was already in the drive when I pulled up. Just seeing it there made something low in my stomach tighten. Heat. Memory. The shape of his hand on mine on the tarmac still lived under my skin like a brand. Mom answered the door with flour still on her hands, pulling me into a hug that smelled like garlic
