PAINFULLY FUNNY

ELODIE'S POV

I woke up to find myself lying in my room with Eloise seated beside me. How did I get here?

"Sis, you're finally awake!" Eloise exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion, as she reached out to hold my hand. I pulled my hand away, avoiding her touch.

"You scared me, Elodie," She whispered, her voice choked with tears. "When I found you passed out on the ground, I was terrified. I thought something terrible had happened to you."

"How did I get here?"

"Don't you remember? I was the one who brought you here. I saw you passed out on the ground and..."

She is lying. I can vividly remember being cradled in the arms of a man and even though I can't remember his face, I can still recall the assuring words he told me while trying to help me calm down.

I got down from the bed and headed to the bathroom without waiting for the lying bitch to finish with her sob story. Minutes later, I emerged, dressed and ready to face whatever awaited me. Eloise, still lingering in my room, reac
